- The Galaxy A55 is one of two new mid-range phones from Samsung and it’s packed with features.
There’s microSD storage expansion, IP67 water resistance and a large 5,000mAh battery that lasted for over 24 hours in our in-house testing.
It has a 6.6in, 120Hz Super AMOLED display with a 1,000 nit peak brightness. And, the new Exynos 1480 chip also impressed, outperforming other phones in its price bracket.
There are three rear cameras: a 50-megapixel main lens, plus a 12-megapixel ultrawide and 5-megapixel macro.
And it comes in four colours: we’re reviewing the Lemon model here, but it also comes in Navy, Ice Blue and Lilac.
Importantly, the Galaxy A55 retails for £10 less than its predecessor: £439 for the 128GB model or £489 for the 256GB model.
On paper, it looks pretty good for the money - but what do you think?

The ultrawide is meh, but it's usable and the color is not that far off from the main camera. It's really good actually, and again for it's price range it's one of the besf
having a MicroSD storage is already a win win

Does it over heats? And how's battery life
I'm commenting on my A54 and This is more than enough for a human being. No slow downs
'problem with A54 is it's heating up from time to time.. does your A54 have the same issue?

It's actually a good phone ngl. Camera, display, battery performance everything is good but keep in mind it's not a gaming phone but you can play games on it.

A54 user here its still amazon but one ui 6.1 has shortened my battery life by a few hours 😭

What I don't understand is that the s24 reg only has a 4000 ma battery yet all the recent A phones are coming with a 5000.

@@randomhobbyist99 i think few other phones lack something while s23 doesn't like cooling chamber things like that so then have bigger battery. Samsung can still do better tho but i think they are being extra carefull and leaving good amount of space for the battery incase if it gets swollen in future to avoid blasts (which mostly doesn't happen)

correct! my A54 is always heating up. you can even iron some shirt when it does heat up. it's a nice phone though.. but i get frustrated when it's heating up. i hope samsung would fix this with updates.

It's a mid range phone bro . Not a flagship phone , it's a decent all rounder phone for mid range, new Samsung's oneUI 6 is awesome. It's a extremely stable phone for mid range budget just like I said its a decent all rounder mid range phone. If you want more premium more powerful more beautiful display etc etc phone then buy Samsungs S series phone . They are the top flagship phone from Samsung, you can buy S21, S22 ,S23 OR S24 series phones they are really amazing top flagship phone made by Samsung. This A55 is a mid range phone what do expect from a mid range phone? For a mid range this is one of the best phones you can buy.

You are asking for the moon on a stick at this point, ip67 and 5000mah, super amoled, and managable performance with 120hz and a good camera setup with 4yrs support arguably the best in android support. You can get a Chinese phone if you value bezels, but i think i speak for most people when i say we dont look at bezels when using our phones.

Those features barely mean anything with the nuisance of a software that's doomed to slow down on purpose or unintentionally by samsung just not caring to optimize.

and that barely matters because even now a ton of apps are packaged for Android 8 onwards too. It doesn't make sense to develop apps exclusively for Android 14 or higher since there isn't a significant change nor a necessity. Those three years of bloatware updates mean jack shite. Security updates, sure. Android updates, to hell with it. It'll only utterly crush the devices performance anyway. What's the point when the phone gets unusable or unbearable to use with those upcoming updates.
Speaking of three years, I did purchase the nothing phone 2a which also has 3 years of android upgrades but is primarily on stock android without unnecessary bloat or purposeful performance hindrance.

It's a solid midrange, looks nice, and adds variety in the phone market. Honestly the A series has always been in my opinion some of the best value phones on the market

A recent review of the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G mobile phone reveals the performance of this device. In fact, the review focuses on the performance of Samsung's own Exynos 1480 processor. According to the review result, the overall performance is equivalent to the Snapdragon 778G processor.
A Snapdragon 8gen is of course a better processor, the Exynos 1480 is not a bad processor though. It is manufactured using Samsung’s 4-nanometer (4LPP) process node and has an eight-core configuration. It includes 4 Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.75GHz and 4 Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.05GHz.
