A 2010 movie would have them all wearing black, cursing, have lots of explosions and a very shaky camera. Also it would take place at night in the middle east.
I saw this in theater when I was 12 years old and I thought this was the absolute coolest thing ever when I saw this opening scene. I likely even later joined the military because of the lasting impression that this movie had on me.
@@henryhill6637 I have always absolutely LOVED this movie. One of my all-time favorites. Watched it SO many times, when I was a kid. Even saw it in the theater (I was 10-years old, when it came out)
I was just there visiting, and this part of the movie immediately popped into mind. I learned how to do this in the Army, but I couldn't imagine trying to do this on this dam.
@@kamele.belkacem4514 Maybe you just didn't try hard enough to say it. Next time try really hard. Maybe the guy in the movie just tried harder than you that's why he succeeded and you failed.
For anyone that knows about guns. Are the first shots with pistols doable from that distance? Not a critic as these is one of favs jcvd movies ( besides timecop)
It would be extremely difficult to do. For starters, pistols are way more difficult compared to rifles. You don't have a stock that you can put against your shoulder and get a cheek weld on. Just two hands and a good trigger pull technique. If your grip isn't good and you pull the trigger in a way that moves the gun around, you'll miss. Pistol iron sights aren't made for shooting beyond 25 yards so from that distance, you probably would completely cover the target with the sights. People like Jerry Miculek, Colion Noir, and Hicock45 have done shots like that plenty of times before, but that's after years of consistent practice. But these unisols are engineered super soldiers so their technique is perfect and they have those eye pieces rigged on them to be a rangefinder of sorts I believe.
Forget how good this movie is, one of jcvds best
Definitely his biggest budget film

This is still a top film
Say what you want about JCVD but he holds up way better than Steven Seagal
Van Dame is a class act
@@SwordsmanMercenary at least JCVD is willing to try to be funny
He always did.
Imagine comparing those two lol

Extremely well done film!

You might think it's a 2010 movie. Great filming.
Exactly
I disagree, it looks good because it doesn't look like a "new" movie.

Dolph was scary in this movie.
I agree 👍 💯 with you.
He was. This is one of the greatest action movies ever made . Dolph was born to play this villain just like Ivan Drago.
Yeah, he was. Right up there with his portrayal of Ivan Drago, from Rocky IV…just in a different way.

Those shoulder pads really break up the human profile...makes good camouflage.
Even with a harness, I can't imagine running down a dam like that
Absolutely insane stunt work!✌
Those time it was extraordinary and took lots of training.
Nowadays you can book wallrunning for your weekend pleasure
I was just about to comment this. Just imagine being the stuntman/stuntmen, who had to do that.
It’s called an Australian fast line , I believe. We were shown it in military

Don't need excessive CG.
They already had body cam back then but we had to wait 30 more years to see them in real life lol
Well the army has stuff that we will get in 20yrs. They had GPS in 90 so
GR- 13 And GR-44 in the next Mortal Kombat Plz
Dolph at his very best. Suprises me to this day that he wasnt moninates for any awards for his performance
Ah! Wish it started earlier than this, when it shows them swimming & they comment on how FAST they were swimming; & all of them astonished, by it.
Childhood memories I miss the 90s my childhood.
