so what im hearing is that the sonys (which i possess) are better in terms of comfortability and travelling but nuraphones are just good in terms of sound quality (which is a big deal for me). The sonys arent a bad choice if you use it for travelling but if sound is your main objective, the nuraphones are the better option.

Good review. I’m always looking for a different perspective. I had a pair of Sony’s (version 2) and the Nuraphones for about two weeks. Both had awesome sound. The Sony’s were much more comfortable and I leaned toward the Sony’s on features. I thought the Nuraphones had better overall sound and were better for a home theater setting, largely due to the “immersion” setting. I may have to revisit the Sony’s. Thanks again for the review.

@@JayBaz well I had my wife and my brother in law set up the nura eq to them and try them next to the vmodas. Now I fibbed and said I like the nuras more just to see if they would agree with my by power of persuasion... both of them tried them the nuras then the vmodas and both of them said the vmodas sounded better. The bass was richer. I agree. The nura bass is like the skullcandy crusher bass, very hard hitting with almost no sub bass. They sound good, dont get me wrong. I'd take them over bose any day. But for $400 I wasnt bown away and you get much better sound from the vmodas at half the cost. Plus vmodas lifetime warranty, comfort, and build. Also, you can plug your vmodas in to aux add a $10 jam box from Amazon and the volume and over all sound are amplified. You cant do that with the nuras because of the cord.
The nuras has absolutely NO sound leak which is nice. And they are comfortable but I wouldnt use them for much gym stuff. Over all the nuras are better than bose, but bose doesnt ser rhe bar very high. You want mind bending deep, full, rich bass? Get the skullcandy 360. You want great over all sound? Vmodas or the master &dynamics mw50+ . Those two have incredible sound, build, comfortable, and more importantly to me... VOLUME!! the sonys xm3 sound great! But the volume just wasnt what I wanted. Hi! Thanks for the feedback. Yeah i got rid of the nuraphones. Its only good if your stationary and just sitting down. If your laying down, walking or god firbid u workout with it, its very uncomfortable. Basically after you set up your profile and hear what it has to offer, the novelty wears out quick. The case is sturdy and beautiful but its so huge that it really takes up space and effort to carry along with you.

Hey BoltzNBulletz, I wish you'd recognise you went into this review with a (heavy) bias towards the Sony's already, I mean, you wasting (our) time complaining about the Nura's software upgrade time? Something you only do once and clearly didn't go well for you (mine took 15 minutes). Where's Sony's software upgrade? Oh yeah, they don't (upgrade). Nuraphones pre G2 upgrade are/were sh**, it's incredible what a software upgrade can do. I own both as well, so please don't think I'm biased towards Nura's. You also make a lot of valid points, but your comparison seems completely off at some points, like treating the immersion as if it were on and off, when there's a whole range you can dial, so I just wanted to leave my (slight) protest here for everybody to see. And since hearing is such a personal thing, my recommendation to anyone is: try the Nura's, you can return them if they don't blow your mind, like they should. Plus, they have the best noise cancelling, hands down, they handle multiple devices like butter and you can buy smaller ear tips (shouldn't they come included? yeah, I know, costly too). You didn't even mention the most annoying thing about the Nura's, something I can't even understand why they did it in this day and age: proprietary charging cable. Otherwise perfect for the best sound experience.

Daniel Fonseca And the reason they did not use regular more widely available charging cables is because of the vast variety of bad quality that are out there because not only do they charge the phones, but you can also use them directly from your PC to listen to music. There are so many USB cables out there that when used with Windows 10, they don’t even recognise the devices that you are trying to connect to them.

  • @nunojrs2
    @nunojrs2 Před 5 lety +3

I have both headphones, the Sony 1000mx3 and the B&W PX.
    SOUND:
However, I intend to say that B&W has a
more intense bass, and Sony has a more BOOOMMM bass! Did I make myself understand?
After listening a techno music at high volume,
the results in my head were different:
With the Sony 1000mx3 I kept my head vibrating.
With the B&W PX I got my head to echo inside!
The B&W PX bass comes in inside the head,
and the Sony 1000mx3 vibrates the outside of the head.
    Different results for different tastes.
I prefer the Bass of the B&W PX, more real and penetrating, like a punch in the head.
Sony sounds a little artificial (comparing with the B&W PX)
In addition, the B&W PX volume is higher.
When it reaches the volume limit on the Sony 1000mx3, the B&W still has another 20% to add.
Without a doubt, the sound of the B&W PX is superior, more defined and more elegant.
I say this without any tendency, because I bought both.
    Do not forget the following:
B&W is a company dedicated exclusively to sound, equipping high-end cars like Ferrari, BMW's etc.
Sony produces a wide variety of things, from mobile phones to microwaves. B&W is a lady of sound
quality, because she dedicates himself exclusively to this.
    COMFORT:
With regard to comfort, the Sony 1000mx3 are more comfortable, nor giving almost by the presence of them in the head. 👍👍👍
However, while the B&W PXs are less comfortable, the ears stay free inside the earpiece, being cooler and not causing perspiration.
The Sony 1000mx3 ears do not have space inside the headphones, and make them perspire on hotter days.
Unsustainable in summer days, much less to walk down the street on sunny days. 👎
The quality of construction is top notch in the B&W PX. All in aluminum, and genuine leather. It costs € 400 in Europe but
pays for the elegance and quality of construction. 👍
The Sony 1000mx3 is all in plastic and synthetic skin. In Europe costs € 380, but it seems that we are buying plastic.👎
However the Sony are lighter and therefore more comfortable. 👍
    NOISE CANCELLATION:
The Sony 1000mx3 has a perfect noise cancellation, it looks like you put your head inside a vacuum chamber. Perfect!
    👍👍👍
The B&W PX though reasonable in noise cancellation, but are far from the Sony 1000mx3.
    Android/ Apple APPLICATION:
With respect to the Android application to control the headphones, the Sony is perfect, as well as the indicator sounds in your own language.
The B&W PX are just beeps. 👎👎👎
The B&W PX application only serves to control the level of noise reduction (which is best to keep it OFF), and to control the system to pause the music when you remove the B&W PX from your ears (which works at 80%). The app for B&W PX is terribly basic 👎👎👎
    CONCLUSION?
Comparing these headphones to a women, I would say:
That the Sony are that kind of woman, very
devoted to home and children, but a little less beautiful and more chubby.
The B&W PX is that a elegant woman, very pretty, but untidy woman at home.
So, if you prefer the ugly and dedicated woman at home, you will always look at the beautiful woman.
If you prefer the elegant and beautiful woman, you go and wash your dishes at home. You choose. 😁😁😎
    I prefer the B&W PX,
although I know it does not have all those features that would do it great.
I'm more of a fan of B&W PX's aesthetic and sound elegance.
If you choose B&W PX you will make a good choice, but sacrificing some aspects of the Sony 1000mx3 that would make music even more enjoyable.
If you buy Sony, you're just one more who bought a headset for €350.
If you buy B & W, whoever watches you knows that you like not just music but sound quality.
Some of the "business" websites that do the comparatives, seem to give 100% preference to Sony, but gave me the impression of sponsorship by Sony.
    😀😀😀
Because everyone knows Sony, and a lot of people have never heard of Bowers & Wilkins, only sound connoisseurs know it.
Thus, Sony is more mediated, and ends up having a control of public opinion, and obviously creates a subconscious tendency by Sony, even some of youtubers who make these comparatives
    .
If you are young, and like techno, buy a Sony.
But if you are over 40 years old, and want to make up for the lack of youth with charm, buy B&W PX 😎👍 .
    .

The nuraphones is a gamble. just because the nuraphones prescribes you your personal hearing needs it doesnt guarantee youll like what it formulates for you. I was personally underwhelmed of the profile it gave me. It was good, but not mind blowingly so. Maybe i was so excited and too hyped to what it could offer.
Id recommend nuraphones strictly for critical listening and enjoying it while relaxed and seated. I would never recommend it taking it anywhere outside.
The case ,although beautiful and sturdy, is very bulky and takes a lot of space.
The headphones are of the heaviest ive worn.
The eartips arent designed to be tight in ur ear canal as it relies the weight of the headphones itself to keep it in place... therefore when u walk around with it, you might feel like the eartips move and hump your ear canals as you stride. Probably worse if you were to run around with it.
In my experience, its also uncomfortable to lay down with.
The best redeeming quality of the nuraphones that i would miss dearly is how well it separates the boombastic bass from the mids and highs. You could crank up the bass to ridiculous skull-shaking levels and still preserve mid and high fidelity.

Yes, there are times it gave me a slightly different profile and i guess it matter on how quiet your environment is when it builds your profile and im also guessing that if u swallow ur saliva while it does it also changes the profile coz the ear pressure changes when u do that. If you have nothing to compare it with, they will sound very good and you will most likely be happy with them. In my case i bought another headphone to compare side by side and after weighing the pros and cons i decided that i wanted portability, features and comfort from the Sonys.

@@bryanarriesgado Thank you for the response. I have a Grado SR325 at home for critical listening. I wanted something wireless for convenience to use mostly within the house and occasionally on trains/flights. These are said to have good bass without muddying up the mids/highs with good imaging so I m considering these. They have been said to sound as good as 400$ headphones but your comparison with the AT 169$ headphones suggests otherwise. Have you heard the Audeze Moebius?

@@velmuruganbalasubramanian9804 yes ive heard of them but its not as heavily reviewed as the 1000xm3. My critical listening cans are the Sennheiswe HD6XX on a Schiit Modi3 (DAC)-Loki2 (EQ)-Magni3(Amp) stack.
If your looking for portability, the nuras are a drag. They are very bulky, and so is the case. The noise cancellation isnt as good and versitile as the sony or bose.

BoltzNBulletz Ohh great! I have the modi multibit and magni stack for my Grado as well! Another quick question. I have read that the nuraphones sound a lot better through aux from a dedicated DAC/amp even rivaling proper wired headphones ~300$(Though it defeats the purpose of portability). Have you had a chance to test that?
