  • This fisherman waited a long time to catch the one shark most people dream of catching! The day started with me having an itch to go land-based shark fishing. We caught a few good sharks before hooking into a bucket list fish. Overall it was an awesome experience to see such a rear wild shark up close. I hope you enjoy the video we had a great time making it. Also, we estimated the shark to be somewhere between 6 - 7 1/2 ft, My buddy Jethro is 6ft 2in and it was bigger than him!
Also, want to take a moment to thank all the veterans who have/do serve the country!

Fun, and glad you explained the two species you can't remove from the water, gills can't come above the surface. I've had a couple of heated arguments about that with know-it-alls that can't admit being wrong.
NOAA pays for having sharks tagged, and some research facilities pay for having tissue and blood samples, tagged.

What's going on buddy! Also glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah some people don't know and would just pull it straight out the water. I try to find out as much Information before I do anything. I can see arguments start easy when people won't admit they were in the wrong. Thankfully we have Google and can end any argument anymore.

@@crhooked My learning was catching a 24" hammerhead, taking a pic laying next to my foot, scooting back in the water off the dock-out of the water maybe a full minute. Foot and a half fall. It just laid on it's side like it was dead for 5-6 minutes, rolled on it's belly another 2-3 minutes, then very slowly swam off. Day later I googled to see if they were actually as good eating as a blacktip-found the rules. Proved to me it does cause shock in the fish.
Lemon, caught one 18" in a cove, took a pic on the deck then hung it over the gunnel in the water still on the hook. Texted to a friend to see if he wanted me to bring it by. Told me it was a Lemon, not an Atlantic, to shake it off the hook or cut the line before FWC came by.
I will not purposely break a rule/law, and learn the regs as best as possible for everything. There's millions of fish/crabs in the water to replace an illegal one released.
Myself, don't know if I'd of been in above knee water with that beast though!!!!
