Employee contribution to PF is fixed to 12% but the Employer's contribution can be between 8% - 12%. This at times not known to the employees as well.

07:36 No doubt Basic Salary is fully taxable but it is wrong to say that "there is no deduction at all". Standard deduction of ₹50k from the gross salary is always there. And Basic salary is also a part of gross salary.

Actually, net earning *can* be more than the promised CTC. This routinely happens in growth companies when the management decides to pay an extra bonus component that is over and above what is mentioned in the offer letter. For e.g. if revenue or profitability achieved far exceeds the original target.
