  • Showing you step by step on how to use and maintain your air compressor, how to use nail guns, the differences between the guns (Brad vs Finish vs Framing) and the nail sizes. Discussing what to look for when shopping for a new air compressor tailored to your needs.
    I will go over the Metabo HPT "The Tank", Metabo Brad Nailer, Metabo Finish Nailer and Metabo Framing Nailer.
    "The Tank" is a great pancake compressor with a max pressure of 200 PSI and 4 CFM which is giving you all you need to run demanding nail guns.

    This is an excellent video!! I bought a nail gun with compressor awhile back with no clue on how to use it. I thought I needed it to do work at one of my rentals.
    Anyways, I've been searching for a video such as yours that provides details on the compressor. You're the only one I've found that gives such a great tutorial. Thank you!!

      Very well, I have used the framing nailer almost every week end in the past year building my cabin. It works great, hasn’t jammed.

    Who knows that is the size hose and length? Can it work on a 3/8" diameter x 100' long hose on a roofing nail gun? Thank you. I'd be excited as you were also.

    • @TheDIYCabinGuy
      @TheDIYCabinGuy  Před 3 lety +1

      The two coupling sockets on the compressor are 1/4”. I wonder if you could add some adaptor. The metabo brand air hose are 1/4” and come in 30’, 50’ and 100’ lengths I believe.

    • @LaZerMouse
      @LaZerMouse Před 3 lety +1

      @@TheDIYCabinGuy I am going to try the 1/4” ID with 1/4” fittings and the hose is 100’ long.

    What do you charge the Metabo too? 200psi? Does it have an auto shut off/auto start? The nailer only needs about 75psi so charging to 200psi may be unnecessary. What do you do?

    • @TheDIYCabinGuy
      @TheDIYCabinGuy  Před měsícem +1

      Automatically charges to 200, it needs to be that high so that it doesn’t have to run constantly every time you fire a nail

  • @jstorm7757
    @jstorm7757 Před rokem +1

    How about giving the actual size for the air attachments? Seems not every one will fit the Metabo

    • @TheDIYCabinGuy
      @TheDIYCabinGuy  Před rokem

      I believe it was 1/4 “ but to be verified in store, it’s listed on the product.

    been using Hitachi nailers and staplers for over 30 years. NR83 is the best gun made, the NR90 in this video has performed well over the last 4 years for us as well.
    Hitachi sent us one of these pancake compressors to test a couple years ago. It's a pile of trash! extremely LOUD, it runs very hot, the cycle is very long and only lasted about 6 months before it died. nowhere near as good as our Rolaire compressors that last 3-5 years

    • @TheDIYCabinGuy
      @TheDIYCabinGuy  Před rokem +1

      Good to know! Mine is still going strong after one year, it hope it lasts much longer!

  • @ericzavala7447
    @ericzavala7447 Před 22 dny +1

    Is the air compressor just meant for nailing or does it work for other thing for example car detailing. Would it work with an air gun?

    • @TheDIYCabinGuy
      @TheDIYCabinGuy  Před 22 dny

      Not sure, sounds like you’d need a large capacity for these applications

    • @jerbus7956
      @jerbus7956 Před 7 dny +1

      The main thing to look for is the CFM/LPM rating on the tool that you’re trying to run. This compressor is rated for 4.0 CFM at 90 PSI, so as long as the tool you’re hooking up is less than that then you’ll be fine

    • @TheDIYCabinGuy
      @TheDIYCabinGuy  Před rokem

      Yeah that’s why I walk all of them back to my garage every time I’m done. I’ve been tempted to just leave them at the Cabin but I would hate for them to disappear. Soon I should have a door I can lock so maybe I’ll leave a few items there.
