In July 2020, a video was made on a train type Siemens Desiro HC (No. 462 039) of National Express Rail GmbH. The video was made between Duisburg central station and Dusseldorf central station.
While the expansion of the infrastructure for the large-scale project "Rhein-Ruhr-Express" (RRX) will continue well into the 2030s, from the end of 2018 the trains of type Siemens Desiro HC (class 462) will gradually be in operation on the regional train network Rhine-Ruhr.
As part of the RRX project, this type of vehicle was ordered in 2015 by the participating associations (VRR, NVR, NWL and SPNV-Nord), which are also the legal owners of the trains.
The original operators of the trains were initially the railway companies Abellio Rail NRW GmbH and National Express Rail GmbH. With the withdrawal of Abellio Rail NRW GmbH due to financial problems, the transport services (lines RE1 and RE11) have been taken over by National Express Rail GmbH since February 1, 2022.
Of the 82 trains initially ordered, 53 were leased to National Express Rail GmbH, including the train with the number 462 039.
Two more Desiro trains (462 084 and 462 085) were put into service in 2020.
The train No. 462 083 is owned by Siemens Mobility GmbH, Munich and is primarily used as a test vehicle for training purposes, but is occasionally used as a reserve train on the RE lines of National Express.
At timetable change on December 9, 2018 (change of operator from DB Regio to Abellio Rail NRW), RRX trains were used on the line RE11 (Dusseldorf Hbf - Kassel-Wilhelmshohe) for the first time.
The trains (maximum speed 160 km/h) of the type Siemens Desiro HC (HC = High Capacity) each have two powered single-decker end cars and two unpowered double-deck cars.
The vehicles are made of lightweight aluminum, have an electrodynamic brake with energy recovery and air-suspended bogies (types SF 100 and SF 500).
In addition to a 1st and a 2nd class also includes a multi-purpose compartment, two standard toilets and a disabled toilet to equip the 105.25 meter long train. There are 18 bicycle parking spaces per train.
The trains are equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, power sockets and a modern, high-resolution CCTV and innovative infotainment system.
In normal operation, the trains are used in double traction, technically, a triple traction is possible.
The trains are serviced by Siemens in the purpose-built maintenance center in Dortmund-Eving. The maintenance contract covers a period of 32 years.

You could sort of see at 8:45 that the train driver tried to catch up with the timetable as he placed the lever to the (admittedly not too comfortable) 100% position. Not something the colleagues from Abellio like to do, if you judge the RE1 services in comparison. It is often slightly delayed. I rarely experience any Abellio driver to drive like that.
0-160 in less than a minute is very quick.

Das habe ich auch schonmal im RE5 miterlebt das war im Sommer 2021 der wurde umgeleitet über Neuss und hatte 15 Minuten Verspätung aufgeholt.

I agree, it's a bit uncomfortable but in my opinion feeling of fast acceleration for people that just love travelling by trains is irreplacable

I’m gonna say that is not the fastest RRX acceleration I experienced. Once a late running RE6 had even more violent start, reaching high pitch 45kmh sound roughly in 5-6 seconds.

Siemens is Siemens. So Siemens may also reuse the same alarm sounds for the doors, across multiple different rail vehicle classes.

@@Myron0117 Some of them sound diffrent! The BR 442 has quicker beeps than the other trains, and the doors of some ICE´s have higher-pitched beeps! The beeps of the doors on the ICE 4 when the doors open are lower-pitched than the beees of the BR 462 and the BR 483-484!
