    On the fuel thing - after years of close calls and a couple out of gas experiences , my thoughts now are, better to top up 100 miles early than run out 10 miles early.

      @shanecoker8566 Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah I’ve came very close to running out of gas so now when I get to 1/2 a tank, I’m looking for a nice not run down gas station.

    just a small contribution, i pack my emergency gear (tools, first aid etc.) on the high side saddle bag, that way if i have to stop on the side of the road in an emergency, I'm away and not with my back from/to oncoming traffic while opening and accessing the box

    Just did a 4k mile trip in one week recently. Only packing tips I can contribute to this video is that I didn't pack any underwear, just wore surf trunks instead. Saved space and made it super easy to pull over and jump into the lakes and rivers along the way. Just drop trow and hop in! Drying off wasn't an issue as they dry fast especially when riding in hot weather. was actually kind of refreshing. Also, roll up dirty clothes into the shirts like a burrito. that saves space too.

    • @2LaneLife
      @2LaneLife  Před 3 lety

    Traveling from east of Nashville again this year. I’m going Route 66 when I get to Springfield MO and till I reach Santa Fe NM then meeting up with friends in Moab UT before heading to Sturgis. I’m bringing octane boost just in case I get bad gas which happened to me returning last year while traveling through Nebraska. Doesn’t take up much space and worth it. Hope to see you guys there one day and I really enjoy the videos and info.

    • @2LaneLife
      @2LaneLife  Před 2 lety

      Definitely a great seat for touring and canyons alike! He's got 25k miles riding all over the country on that baby and no complaints.
      For the heritage, your best bet would be to go with the Saddlemen Explorer seat which is more of a touring specific seat, but still great all-around for comfort and support, or you could go with a Step-Up seat just like the one in this video.

      Thanks for watching Joe! That's a great idea. We'll definitely have to make a video on that down the line. For the most part, that's where the luggage comes in. Of course they have to pack somewhat light still, but using large duffles or bags and sharing space with them is usually the go-to. It takes some trial and error for sure, but at least you're on baggers!

    I found my first few trips I always overpacked. Now, unless I am going to BFE, if I find I need something, there's always a Wally-Mart, or Ace. Rarely need to resort to that, but it's kept me from overloading. Just my $.02. Nice informative video as always!

    Good evening, I'm planning my first solo trip, Daytona Biketoberfest 2022, about a 3000-mile round trip. So I'm not crazy. The saddlebags, side cases it is mostly for the stuff you need right away. Top case tools, drones, big jacket, etc.. Then your clothes should go on a duffel etc...As it is my first time doing this, I guess Im going all the way in.,

    • @2LaneLife
      @2LaneLife  Před 2 lety

      Yes sir. Maybe on saddle for quick stuff, oil, tool roll etc. One for clothes and toiletries and or Lance runs jacket and hat and a few other items tour pack, Gaylin run a Saddlemen 3400 for longer trips with clothing and saddles for other items and Josh runs a Pelican with all of our camera gear. Enjoy and don’t over think it. We have a few packing videos you can check out beside this one. Good luck and enjoy the ride!

    This year is my first year going to Sturgis and it's my first out of state trip. What tools should I take? I don't want to pack my whole tool box lol..

    • @2LaneLife
      @2LaneLife  Před 3 lety +2

      That's awesome, we're stoked for you! For the basics, as long as you carry a small standard set with tools for all of your main fastening bolts, and getting into anything that you're able to fix yourself in case anything happens. Gaylin carries an assortment of tools compiled over the years, and Josh carries a Road Tech H3 Tool Kit with most of the essentials. For an out of the box traveling took kit, it gets the job done!
      2lanelife.com/products/roadtech%E2%84%A2-h3-tool-kit?_pos=3&_sid=d4870beba&_ss=r
      Another tip, make sure to put both of you feet down when stopping at stop signs and lights out there. They'll get ya if not!
      Ride safe and have a great trip! 🤘

      Yes sir! We'll be doing 2 meet and greets during Sturgis. We'll be doing one Saturday August 7th from 1-3pm at Legend Suspensions HQ, and another one Sunday August 8th from 10:00AM-Noon at the Klockwerks booth at Black Hills Harley Davidson in rapid city.
      We'll post up info on Instagram as well. Catch you there!

    Hi guys, I really like what you are doing and have been following along since the get-go. In the tips & tricks portion of this video you mention Cardo is utilized for your communication device. Since you sell Lexin on your website, what sets Cardo apart from Lexin to where you wouldn't use a device you are selling? Inquiring minds want to know. Keep up the great work and we will see you down the road!

    • @2LaneLife
      @2LaneLife  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey there Craig, thanks for the support!
      We were rocking the Lexins before, and got an opportunity to test out the Cardos and we're loving them. We're just waiting to be able to become a dealer for Cardo so we can sell them on our site as well. We had a great experience with all of the different Lexin devices over the years, but for what we do, the Cardo is turning out to be the perfect device. Not having to press a button when we need to talk and coordinate shots, great audio quality, and being able to use voice control for every function of the device has just made life on the road that much easier. We've also noticed the range is significantly better.
      Hope that helps!
      See ya dopwn the road..

    Great stuff, thanks for all the info. My preference is to leave the rain gear behind. After 15 trips to Sturgis from AZ, I simply use my leather jacket through the rain (which are normally short lived thunderstorms) and within 20-30 min after the rain you are dry (because of heat and wind). So, leave the rain gear behind and gain some space. My 2 cents.....
