Sweet! I found your videos a few months ago, I had just gotten the Akai mini 3. While I've been making music for some time now, your videos have been quite inspiring, leading me into some new, fun and uncharted territory. I've been enjoying it quite a bit, thank you Taetro.
Do you have a video explaining quantization? You mentioned it at 15:04 and I was wondering how you quantize and what exactly it does. Thank you and sick videos, btw.
I'm gonna a be blunt...this shitright here is what makes a great instructor. Like I said about the circuit video, this video shows us the human side of you. Not to say we think negatively but this is gives us hope in the sense that while we struggle [regardless of our level in producing] some people can watch this thinking to ourselves "oh ok he doesn't just have it all figured out, he looks for it all" so thank you, man.please make more videos like this.
VERY GOOD POINT. I'VE BEEN A MUSICIAN FOR MOST OF MY 60 YEARS. I'M NEW TO THIS MAKING BEAT STUFF, AND LOVING THE IDEA OF DOING THAT AND INCORPORATING THAT POSSIBILITY INTO MY MUSIC.
I guess he doesn’t check a video’s comments more than once…? Because personally, I AGREE 100% with this along with 600+ other people and I think it would’ve been great for him to read… this is how his viewers feel about him and it’s rare. Great channel!
My man's here has the generosity to share his raw and uncut beat making and music producing process. Huge thanks to him and don't forget to subscribe and like the video
I agree. Everybody has a process but some don't even know where to start or get stuck etc. Seeing this in how you create will open a lot of door and a lot of hope in music creation. It's a process that's not perfect... it's trial and error into getting those sounds to work together. Taetro.. you are doing a service to many!!! Great stuff!!
Pardon me but before I lay out my question/argument, I want to say that English is not my 1st language. So my question is, is "one of the best" a correct statement? Because best means there is no one better than you, eg; he/she is the best. So, when people say "one of the best" how can that be? Because best can only be "one" Shouldn't it be "one of the better"?
For the Creator and all of those watching, a piece of advice. if you're working with the laptop, absolutely have an external keyboard, and put the laptop up so the top of the screen is level with your eyeline. with the laptop in this position, you don't even have to think about sitting up more straight, you just do it more naturally. Some mild benefits include getting to use an actual comfortable keyboard and less wear and tear on your laptop.
Honestly the sheer number of buttons and options scare me in these softwares. Your video really helped me to start thinking about my workflow and whats available to me in the music making process. Thanks Taetro!
true the feeling of having infinite choices and trying to find the perfect choice out of all of them makes me doubt everything, overthink, makes me kinda anxious and all of that slows my process down
Almost all people who make music production videos just explain what gear we must buy But they never explain how to get started with gear This video is amazing
I feel like this is really going to change the way I create music. So far I've mostly been starting with looking for the right sounds instead of the right parts/themes, which made me frustrated very easily. Definitely going to try your approach!
Well done bro. Sometimes when I'm about to start a song I'm overthinking the amount of work that is in front of me but thanks to your video I remembered that if I approach it step by step it's gonna be ok
I just started out making music and working with Ableton and this video was unbelievably helpful. I don't really know anything about music or music theory but just seeing the thought process was eye-opening. For example the way you layered your sounds by thinking about how low and high they are so they don't clash would have never occured to me on my own. Please make more videos like this and keep up the good work
oh, man, this helps a lot, i thought i was going SLOW as a producer, but i see you don't work at some magical super pace that is unachievable by a pleb mortal like myself. it's great that you let it all 'hang' like this. thank you, you've given this old EDM producer hope
Speed just comes with familiarity and repetition. Who knows his real pace when he’s inspired, restful, happy etc but all greats are really just like us. We all have to start small to get big.
Honestly bro, this is incredibly inspiring. To see you go through your imperfect natural process, gives me the hope I need, to persist with my passion of making music...Thank you so much.
taking notes: 1. cool synth - chord progression, play around with automation/parameters 2. rhythm - add drums 3. bass line - find good bass, play around until you find a cool bass line 4. melody - sth "floating on top" of the rest 5. sidechain some channels to the kick, some basic mixing 6. add more rhythm/movement with another melody/synth layer 7. add vocal sample, play additional melody with it 8. Mastering 9. Arrangement
I’m a recording artist and songwriter, and I also make vocal samples. I’m learning music production and this is really helping and entertaining. This is so awesome 😄
I’m so new to music production that I’m still rocking the trial for Ableton Suite! And while I’m learning a lot about the way this DAW works in tutorial videos, which has been helpful, I’m often still left feeling like “okay, I know how to trigger this or activate that, but how do I really put it all to good use?” But this video has already given me a few of those “ah-ha!” moments where I’m seeing things click. It seems watching someone simply use a piece of software or hardware in the way they normally would can be infinitely more helpful than watching tutorial videos sometimes. So I’d love to see more videos like this.
Thank you for this content! You really showed here how human it is to create music. Some creators out there would put it out like everything seemed like magic, and all just talent. But this content shows how hardwork is also very important in the process and all the struggles and frustrations musicians go through, and this shows how you overcome the plateau. Many many thanks!
This is like the holy grail of beat making videos, so concise and well paced, and under half an hour. I'm subbed, and I'm getting a Minilab with analogue lab lite!
I just commented on your review of this and just suggested a video like this because you are very gifted at teaching these topics and playing and inventing new music. Thanks. You just helped make my life easier!
Honestly, I say this is what I have been looking around CZcams. It recommended it today..... While other videos are just making us feel inferior, and they are talented. Thanks a lot❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for showing the application of the midi keyboard. Most reviews list off specs and features but this review is great cause it shows the actual application
what ive learned from watching your videos and many others, is that technical ability like knowing what knob does what in relation to these other 25 knobs that are linked to this button i put in this this mixer bus for this one sound, is more important than talent, and that being creative isnt some god given gift, its just not restricting yourself to a one thing and playing with whatever feels cool.
This helped me a lot and honestly didn't know where to start since I haven''t had a sesh in a while. You reminded me to start with one thing at a time. I took your approach and began with playing around with some chords and within the next two days I have a full beat to work with. Appreciate you TAETRO!
this is pure gold. it's so useful for people who are learning about music production. and i love learning about other people's creative process. thank you for this!
Just found out about you through this video today. You are by far one of the best producer CZcamsr. You’ve got really good quality visually and in terms of knowledge
Thank you so much! I'm a total beginner and this was so helpful in seeing an actual workflow with well thought out commentary along the way so that I knew what you were doing. This helps me think about my own workflow and some considerations about where I can begin to put my focus. Thanks again!
this is such an awesome video. i've learned so much just listening to you explaining what you're doing & why. i would *love* you to do more of these. super inspiring and really helpful to those of us who are still learning. thank you :)
i dont ususally say this cuz i dont feel like it on other videos but this one actually helped, the last part especially where u show how u rearrange the beat structure.
This seems so calming....I’ve been trying to learn more about music production because I want to become a music producer when I’m older. A lot of people I’ve told thinks it’s a unrealistic dream but it’s something I really really want to do when I’m older. Anyways, this video helped quite a bit of the process. Of course I’m sure for everyone the process is different but still.
been dying for a clear process video just like THIS, since i know everything to get started. But i didnt have my roadmap. Created a bunch of tracks, just hit or miss most of the time. With this, i'll finally get started for real.
Great vid! I have composed classical and pop and everything in between, and I am starting to look at beats. This tutorial is awesome , because you show the process and thinking, not just the setting. Keep making great videos!
Thank you very very very much for this content on your channel. Your videos are really helpful! World NEEDS people like you who are willing to share and help . Bless you dude!
This video was fantastic...I shared it as well. So refreshing to have videos for novice viewers and everyone all the way up the chain. Please make more. I bought a midi for my son based off of your other vids but you are inspiring me to get this set up for my oneself. Thank you. Mega Value
This is awesome cuz this has pretty much been my organic process I’ve grown into along this music production journey over the past year (though I use Logic Pro X). Awesome video, bro, much gratitude to you! 💪🏿💪🏿🎹🎧🙏🏿💫

I just got an launchkey mini mk3 and was wondering if you could please do an in depth tutorial. I continuously get mixed up, I think with the capture midi and it throws me off with when I’m trying to record. You make it so seem less. Would really appreciate it especially since you were one of the main youtubers to influence me on getting the launchkey mini 🤷🏽♂️🙏
I'm doing a new more in-depth 3 part series just like this! Watch part 1: czcams.com/video/yCRutVbWd98/video.html

this has to be one of the best "production process" type videos I've come across, thanks so much!
Appreciate it Carson!
I’m going to have to agree with you @carson Schafer

the feeling of having infinite choices and trying to find the perfect choice out of all of them makes me doubt everything, overthink, makes me kinda anxious and all of that slows my process down
I thought it was instructive to see not just the progress, but also the stalling: looking for sounds & riffs, discarding what doesn't work etc.
I’m glad. Thanks Paul!
