People at times don't realize the kind of sacrifices doctors make to reach somewhere. They look at doctors and think of a high paying job. My father is a surgeon; I've witnessed the amount of hard work, passion and time he has put into his profession - that too, to make other people's life better. Some days he comes home and just lies down on the couch, doesn't even walk to his bedroom because he's so exhausted from standing and doing hour (most times even 3-4 hrs) long operations. There are days I still find him up early studying surgery or some medical journal. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his spirits never faltered, not even for a second. I've never seen someone so devoted to their work.
Doctors deserve every ounce of respect one could possibly give.
Thanks for appreciating us,is when one is closer to them one knows better
Respect to ur dad and all doctors and upcoming doctors 🙌
Wonderfully written, I couldn’t agree more
And nurses too
😎
Lets just take a moment to appreciate the Anesthesiologist too ,who is keeping the body normal throughout the surgery!
Good point 👌
True. It's always a teamwork between anes and the surgeon in every surgical operation, a surgeon can't ever proceed to an operation without his/her anes, anything outside his cut, it will be the anes' responsibility.
Yes..anesthesia is always sidelined in any success of a surgery..only we anaesthetists know how much courage it takes to face any problems during or after the surgery
Lol ... no way
Nobody cares
Dr. Devi Shetty is the most awesome person. He is like an idol, a leader.
Yeah
Just consider him a person trying to amke an impact. Try to replace his legacy. And let the trend go on

The indian doctor you see here is none other the most well known cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty!!
He's the CEO and founder of Narayana group of hospitals, a chain of 27 top class hospitals and over 110 clinics in india.
And through his methods he has lowered valve replacement surgery costs for pediatric patients to as low as 2000-3000 US $.
And let me remind you with that amount you can't even get a good refill of your prescription drugs in the US.
So glad to see Netflix creating a documentary on the people that actually made a significant change into the lives of thousands of people
🙂🙂
Dr Devi Prasad shetty helped my mom Get through her Bypass surgery.
He's the real hero.
Can't wait for the documentary to come out.🙂
He's an absolute inspiration ❤🥺
He's a real life hero ❤️

I met Dr. Quinones-Hinojosa when he was at Hopkins. His humility and curiosity towards medicine is like no other.

Dr. Devi Shetty is a legend! One of the reasons I came into this field. His service to mankind is amazing. Providing world-class healthcare to poor and affluent people alike without any discrimination. It's not like that he needs any more of publicity as he is renowned worldwide but it's nice to see that he's being shown in a Netflix documentary. 😊❤
@Abhijeet Kundu Not in Europe. Healthcare in Europe is way cheaper than the States. At least in the UK, you don't pay for an emergency ambulance. On top of it, NHS services are available everywhere uniformly.
Some people have the perfect synthesis of ability, opportunity, and will to make great contributions to our species. They help to elevate the human collective, while they couldn't achieve these heights without the opportunities our interconnectedness provides. The truly great understand the obligations we owe each other.

The father of Fetal Medicine - Professor Kypros Nicolaides. A true Hero who should have already been Knighted by now. Most people have no idea about the discoveries this man has made, the money he has donated and the impact he has had on Fetal and Maternal care worldwide. I am very glad to see him on Netflix and I hope this series gets the attention it deserves.
That's why doctor is most noble profession, how it saves people's life🥺.
I hope someone make documentary on nurses too so people know the importance of nurses too
Yes, all this time nurses have been overlooked as side helpers of the "star" doctors and that they don't have any real meaning for patients....
This comes from a nursing student 😩

As an enthusiast of cerebral medical shows, the quality of “The Surgeon’s Cut” is by the best making it is my favorite show ever released by Netflix. Each episode stirs your soul to tears and breathtakingly inspires you in its own unique way. Netflix must produce more seasons of this show please!
My identical twin boys are turning 3 in May due to Kypros, he performed laser ablation surgery on me and my boys at 17 weeks gestation. We had Stage 3 Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. Looking back now it is truly amazing this surgery exists as without treatment my boys would have died.
I am aspiring to be a doctor specifically a surgeon and this documentary will aspire me more to be a surgeon. Going to give my NEET exam in 2021. I could literally feel the pressure of doctors saving life while performing the surgeries. thanks for such a documentary netflix, i needed this.

This is an excellent documentary featuring 4 doctors with a BBC production quality standard - need to say no more. The 4 docs shown are the best of the best of the best of the best, not only in what they do but the lives they live. I have to say that the first surgeon who operates babies inside the mother´s belly and the third surgeon - a woman - who I think invented the method of cutting the liver of a live donor (liver regenerates itself) and transplanting that 2/3 of the liver into the recipient - are the most breathtaking to me. The second story of the illegal immigrant who became one of the best brain surgeons in the country is also amazing, and the fourth story is incredible. Netflix keeps on coming with these high-quality documentaries, and I am getting addicted!!!
I am an Orthopaedic surgeon.. Eagerly awaiting to see this one. Hope its not over dramatised!!
Hey can you give some advice as to becoming a surgeon
It is entirely different in your country than mine, so its difficult to give any advice!! But I am sure it will be a path which needs much diligence, tenacity and dedication !!

@@yourmomisgay377 I think the picture of doctors practising in India has completely changed over the last few years. Number of specialist doctors passing out every year has increased significantly since last 5 years. Now if you start practising anywhere your life will be a struggle. Breaks my heart that kypros has cancer.
The saddest is It’s probably from the over exposure of laser’s, ultrasounds, X-rays ...
He is such a beautiful person and he have a lot of more to do... this is unfair
@@msch7620 no, it's not
@@jocacole4557 Maybe it is. Little by little, over time. Just the fact that it is blood cancer.
@@msch7620 You should educate yourself. Lasers and ultrasounds do not emit ionising radiation. As for X-rays, it is possible but the evidence is not there to suggest that occupational exposure is sufficient to increase risk.
