Ruthless Aggression era is the most underrated era of wrestling ever.
Yes everyone like to talk about the attitude era a lot
Attitude era was number 1, that’s the wrestling business deal with it
@@DaDonBossMan he never said it was number 1 though🤨
DaDonBossMan ahaha that kofi comment triggered you huh
Better than the Nonsense we see today
I never realized as kid how old Finley was. He is a god damn gift and I should’ve appreciated him more when watching him.
Same here dude
Loved his matches between benoit and regal during this time
Man spent his youth in the north of Ireland, not going to age to well when the Brits are kicking your door in every day,
I like how Michael cole called hornswaggle the little bastard! 😆
Man exactly lol he was so good !! Him Booker and Regals team causing havoc on Raw and Smackdown was the best!
He Forgot about Paul London and Brian Kendrick they were gold in the ruthless aggression era as well
The best (and ironically most underrated) team from that era
They were the young Bucks before the young bucks ever existed
My fav tag team at the time
Loved them 2 great wrestlers
Julian Jones then along w Deuce & Domino
This era is where the aesthetics really modernized, watch a 2000 raw and then a 2003 raw, the feel of the show is pretty different
True
vastly
Ruthless Aggression the era that should be appreciated more.
I agree it really should.
Ruthless Agression Era was an era that had 3 generations of wrestlers (Hogan gen, HHH gen, and Cena gen,) clash together at the corners of each generations career to make so many memorable matches and moments

Every time I see Joey Styles..all I can hear is
“BACKLASH!? I’m not good enough for BACKLASH”
Even his commentary for Edge vs Foley at Wrestlemania 22
The crowd cheered CM Punk so loudly that Triple H had to say "yes, and CM Punk has a question for you" then he let CM Punk say the "Are You Ready" line. It was awesome
I grew up on this era ! No entrance will be cooler than Randy Orton posing at the stage with raining pyro behind him.
While "Line In The Sand" or "Burn In My Light" played.
factsss
Idk edges royal rumble return
Your wrong goldberg did it wayyy better
I perfer Booker T's entrance and pyro
@@nmcintosh8769 booker entrance use to pump me up still get chills when apex videos start with that loud can you dig it? SUCKA then the beat hits good stuff
Remember the days mid card matches and feuds were very good through this era how times have changed not for the better of course
Shelton Benjamin,
Chris Benoit,
Chris Jericho,
to name a few.
Even tag team contests were still great.
@@bodiesbydefinition yep the US and intercontinental championship actually meant something basic thugonomics cena was great before the time is now bs the list can go on lol
@@christopherhoulihan1395
Yep.
Aside from Miz making the IC title relevant for so many years ( + Cena and Styles' runs with the US title), the midcard and tag team wrestling is hugely irrelevant, now.
@@bodiesbydefinition yeah and it's not like they don't have great tag teams if they were booked right they would rival the hardy's, Dudley boys, edge and Christian era if wwe ain't careful they are gunna lose a great team of the revival that will be a blow for them especially if they jump to aew or new japan
That thumbnail reminds me of a time when survivor series was about people teaming up to beat each other up instead of brand warfare. Good times.
The only time Brand War was relevant was when both GMs of RAW and Smackdown were feuding.Survivor Series 2005 was more about Teddy Long vs Eric Bishcoff.
48 Year old Finley has more talent in his finger than most wrestlers.
This is my first era of wrestling i have ever watched
Don’t let this distract you from the fact they literally made kofi Kingston wait over 10 years for a main title
DaDonBossMan ok and ? It’s the wrestling business deal with it
Scott hall has never held the main title. Dusty Rhodes has never held the main title.
@Joey G This is the most wrong statement I've read this week
DaDonBossMan I can name you over a half-dozen better wrestlers who never even got a run with the belt.
Its even harder than ever to hold the main title.
To be fair that Gregory Helms was like a whole new life line that made that division super interesting.
Facts
era that was still good but declining towards the end
2008 was the last year in the era, and was a great year
Gregory Helms: Still the longest reigning Smackdown singles champion of all time, 2 weeks longer than AJ Styles WWE title run.

Chris Benoit, TOOTHLESS AGGRESSION!
Lifeless aggression

@@sufiyaanbasharat9569 lmfaooooo ooooooooo
Most of us started off with the Attitude Era and grew up with the Ruthless Aggression Era.Great times and better than today's Nonsense.Batista,Cena,Orton all debuted,Edge became a Main Event Star,Lesnar was great in his brief first run and Shawn Michaels had a great second run which included reforming DX.Even the B PPVs had great matches like the HIAC Match at Vengeance 2005 and the TLC Match at Unforgiven 2006.Also great TV Matches like Lesnar vs Angle Iron Man Match and Cena vs Shawn Michaels for the whole 2nd hour of RAW.And special mention to the Edge-Lita Live Sex Celebration which is way better than the Lashley-Lana-Rusev Nonsense now!
Mordecai is to me, what Repo Man is to Simon Miller.
I really wish they would have kept the gimmick going. It was pretty damn cool.
@@joshgon502 I Agree, I always liked him. Thought he could be kinda like another Undertaker with the gimmick. When he was in ECW, that gimmick wasn't bad either. But when I play firepro.. Mordecai is my Champ
It doesn't hurt that his girl was sexy af. She was like Lita in the sense that they were gorgeous but not ditzy bimbos
I really developed an appreciation for Finlay matches against Chris Benoit on SmackDown.
Check out their match at Judgment Day 2006. Best match of a lackluster PPV
Honestly never appreciated him fully until I rewatched his rivalry in wcw in the 90s with William Regal. Made me appreciate Regal alot more too.
That “No Mercy” PPV was my first PPV I even saw and I was like damn. I was 12 at the time
It was the second one for me! I started right before Unforgiven 2007!
Ngl, I like the ruthless aggression era the most of all the eras of wrestling. Nobody can change my mind.
I was at Survivor Series 2006. We were definitely cheering for CM Punk
Ruthless Aggression and Attitude Era are my favorites to watch
Real fans NEVER forgot about Ariel
2006 was my favorite year of wrestling when I was a kid
"What about the attitude era" second greatest Adam Wilbourne meme..........
We all know what the first one is.........
"WHERE'S SIMON MILLER? I WANT SIMON MILLER!"
Just funny af lmfao👏👏👏
Iiiiconic!
*Does the IIconics' pose.*
Gilmore Guirao yes! Yes it does good sir. Lmfao 👍👏
the jon moxley leaving wwe was a work thing too
obi tavora ahahaha yes 3, the 3 greatest AW memes lmfao
Called umanga everything but the samoan bulldozer! 😂😂🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
Side note about Rico, awesome dude! Met him at a house show in La Crosse WI years back, took the time to talk to everyone, sign everything and take every picture. Good, good dude.
Personally I think the ruthless aggression era is the best out of any era
Top to bottom of the roster yes. But the attitude era obviously had more impact and is directly responsible for the ruthless aggression era. Although it was definitely more top heavy
Hell yeah, I loved the Attitude Era but the Ruthless Aggression Era really hooked me into wrestling as a teen
The OVW class of 2002 was insane. Here in Kentucky too. It used to Come on local tv every Saturday night and it was better than the the big companies are today. All that talent here at the same time MAN!
I remember all of this ruthless aggression put up better wrestling than any period of time ever.
Regal is one of a small handful who had EVERYTHING necessary to be a world champion, and didn't get it.
Exploded Almond cuz he was English and not American tbh I think we all knew that
@@moneymantwin1267 Vince hates black people and women, wasn't sure how he felt about the English.
Also the drug problem
Edge cash in the money in the bank on john cena was my favorite.
You know it really solidfied Edge as a top heel and started a truly great feud. WWE 's revisionist history will tell us that Orton is Cena's greatest feud and rival although I personally think is the much better choice. Edge and Cena was such as a great feud.
@@williaml3546 whoever says that Randy Orton is Cena's greatest fued is greatly mistaken. At most Randy Orton was a counter part to Cena, like Batista and CM Punk. Edge is definitely the number one rivalry for Cena. I would even take the argument of JBL but not Orton
Instagram: @botchedbooking
That was amazing at the time because it was so unexpected. The Mitb was new and no one even realized that it was possible to cash in at the end of a match.

@@aceangell1806 I know right money in the bank need to be at wrestlemania next year in hollywood.
@@aceangell1806 I completely agree with everything you have said.
Named Rene but not Shelton from the OVW class 02
Or Charlie Haas
World's Greatest Tag Team. Also Team Angle in 2002-03
@@RaghavanN
Team Angle had serious potential.
Gone too soon :'(
Coz he was fine. Renee was more of a 'really?' kinda addition.
Not to mention Shelton Benjamin's Intercontinental championship run that was literally decided by the wwe fans. Shelton wasn't even in the top 4 of what Vince McMahon was expecting for the vote for the ppv I think was cyber something and fans voted. Shelton talks about it on Talk Is Jericho. Chris Jericho being who he defeated.
Gregory Helms is at the top of my boy stable. I wish he got more recognition
Yes! He's one of my "boys" too. A winner is you!
I always like Billy Kidman. That man could put on a show that would captivate you and at end you got to see the stars
Shawn Michael's and god vs vince and shane was the craziest feud I've ever seen
I can only imagine the backlash (no pun intended) they got from religious groups for doing that angle.
That fued was perfect. The heel heat from Vince mocking God was beautiful. He essentially made the audience believe that in the world of the WWE he is the Devil.
Instagram: @botchedbooking
Personally my favorite era in WWE history. The Olympic Trio of Kurt, Shelton, and Charlie... Phenomenal Eddie and Beniot clashes. The anxiety of wondering which WCW star would show up next. The multiple returns of Kane on PEAK physical condition. Too many more memories to name for an era Rhett didn't quite get the respect and remembrance it honestly deserves. Oh yeh, and that John Cena guy...i guess.
You forgot Drax the Destroyer. He debuted in this Era.The Real "Monster among Men" and the best World Heavyweight Champion before he went to fight Thanos!
The Gregory Helms Character was badass. The unofficial "Bastard" character before PAC gained the character
Ruthless aggression era is my favorite era. But that's when I really got into wrestling so it holds the majority of my memories
As a kid in 2004 I remember going to watch Smackdown at the TD Garden in Boston when John Cena was US champ and Carlito debuted and won the title that same night man was that was crazy crowd was pissed and brought crazy heat to Carlito I was almost crying as a kid now I look back and think it was gold I miss the good old days
Alejandro Giron that’s was out of nowhere too!
Love it. And thanks for the Sudden Drama shout out mate, that was my band. Cheers
Finlay vs Lashley back in the day was a baller feud. Ruthless Aggression was when I got into wrestling properly. Wasn't this when we had a bit of a tag team golden age with London and Kendrick as the champs with contenders like Lance and Murdoch, MNM and Regal/Taylor as the main contender teams?
Man that No Mercy PPV was something else. Me and my brother were the biggest WWE marks and loved him having 3 matches in a single night.
The fact that Gregory Helms held the cruiserweight title for more than a year and being the Hurricane is STILL the only thing most people remember him for tells you all you need to know about his heel run.
Taker vs Angle match was a Wrestlemania main event worthy match ❤️
I remember this short period of time on Smackdown, I think it was in 06 or 07, where Finlay and William Regal had a series of some of the most brutal matches I had ever seen on Smackdown. They stiffed the ever living hell out of each other for like 10 minutes and my god was it magnificent to watch.
It started as seemingly a one off, but the brutality, and the technical prowess of the match out of seemingly nowhere from guys who were twice the age of anyone else on the roster at the time blew everyone's minds and the crowd loved it, so they had a rematch a week or two later, and it was just as good. Then they did a third a few weeks after that where they actually hyped up the brutality with a short backstage beforehand....and well, it wasn't as brutal as the first two, you could clearly tell it was catching up with them. But it was still Finlay vs William Regal, so it was still good.
Best Cameo Ever... All Hail Simon 🙌
Thank you so much for reminding me about the awesome moment Finley wrestled, totally forgot about it...
The attitude era with less violence and a lower budget
You only missed one of the greatest moments in wwe history: A leprechaun wins gold.
July 22, 2007. The Great American Bash. The Cruiserweight Open where a number of contenders battle for the title. What apparently no one knew was that there was actually an extra entrant in the match. When things had gotten crazy in the match, Hornswoggle comes out from under the ring to pull off one of the greatest upsets in the history of sports entertainment. He hits his tadpole splash on Jamie Noble to win the belt.
This was genuinely one of the best lists you’ve ever done. Great stuff, really loved it. I’m glad to see that other people love Gregory Helms
Bullshit!
I grew up in the ruthless aggression era. Always loved it, still do
THE RUTHLESS AGGRESSION ERA...WAS SOOOO @#$ing underated !!
It had great story lines and Wrestling!!!
Ruthless Agression > Attitude Era
This is wrong
Me choppy your pee pee and DX pulling down their pants can differ opinions
I remember everything on this list, but I absolutely loved the RA era. Incredibly underappreciated period in WWE history!
rutheless aggression is my ABSOLUTE favourite era ever
i was young in this era i started looking at this in 05 06 an towards the ending of the era it was great
Lmao @ the Vince impression for Rico
I will never forget Rico. I saw him hit a pole in a car after Raw was filmed in my town.
What??? 😂😂😂
@@dylanherron6262 on my way home after Raw I saw him drive his car into a pole that was blocking off a pedestrian only street.
William Regal is as close to a perfect wrestler as you can get. He was just so good at every single aspect of the job.
that Gregory Helms gimmick could've had a bigger career than just being the best Cruiserweight Champ back then....
I'm so glad that I grew up during this era. One of the last really good eras before WWE went it to this "family friendly" era, or whatever you want to call it.
6:37 That absolutely killed me, omg 😂😂😂😂😂
It's really such a shame that WWF/E had turned off so many people by the mid 2000s and so a lot of us missed the whole Ruthless Aggression Era. Once WWE bumbled the whole Invasion angle, I was done. I came back in 2011 though during the summer of Punk, though. But that was basically it for me as a full time spectator. Thanks for the list though!
Keep making videos about this era please
Ruthless aggression era >>> attitude era
Let's not go crazy, now
Exploder it’s true
My favorite era is the Ruthless Aggression Era. But the Attitude Era is the best era in WWE history. The Monday Night Wars between WWF and WCW and the original ECW brand was the best era of professional wrestling. But overall, 1996-2007 was the best time to be a wrestling fan.
Funlay, he loves to have fun!
Check out his WCW matches with Regal. Amazing work. Even better, watch his matches in germany back in the late 80s and early 90s, if you can find them. He was, and still is, one of the very best.
I remember when Joey Styles left on that Raw. What isn't mentioned is that Tazz did the same thing on Smackdown that following Friday. I wish Tazz would come back to WWE. I liked the Michael Cole and Tazz commentary team.
Title: moments you forgot
Me:but I remember at least half of not more of these moments
So much nostalgia watching this video
Samoan forklift and the Samoan lawnmower 😂😂😂
I went to my first ever WWE show the night after No Mercy 2007 in Grand Rapids MI!!! Shawn Michaels came back that night! It was greatness!!!!
That was a great era, very underrated!
I like how Hohn always mention Shelton when talking about that 2002 class
The Vince impression killed me 😂😂
Ruthless Aggression. Who would have thought that would be the way down Smdh
gregory helms run was awesome. He is a underrated mic worker
That impression of Vince talking to Rico sounded like Ronnie the limo driver.
I like how you make your video's
Simon cameo 👌🏽
Finlay is a great wrestler. One of the best hard workers. His matches were always worked well. That’s the guy wwe needs at times, a hard worker
With that no mercy ppv, they should have just made the Umaga triple h match the other #1 contendership match
The awesome Ruthless Agression Era. January (or may) 2002- August 2008
It was close to the end of May 2002. In January 2002, it was still The Attitude Era.
Loved Ariel and the way she used to enter the ring, dangling upside down from the ropes was just something I'd never really seen at the time and thought it was awesome.
I don't think anyone forgot about Zach Gowen. How about the Junior division on SmackDown?
I miss this era so much
Dave "Fit" Finlay back in 2006 was legit. He even gave Benoit a run for his money and he was another who enjoyed midcard success and Gregory Helms, I believe had a career resurgence once he stopped being The Hurricane. He reminds me of PAC.
Ruthless Aggression need its own storyline on Wwe 2k
That last one is hilarious
There was a very specific time in my childhood where I really wanted a big tiddy goth gf because of Ariel and Gwen from TDI.
Kevin Thorn and Ariel were sick. Still can't forget about them, sometimes memories came back and I'm really pissed they get rid of them so fast:(
William Regal was so good at that Time in his Role. I wish we could have seen him winning the Big One. Also shoutout to Finlay. He was a Beast! Saw him at a Live Show once and Boy Oh Boy, I literaly could feel his Moves by watching it. :-D
God I miss all of this and actually miss the hell out of Joey Styles in throwback EC DUB! “OOOOOOMYYYGAAAAAAAD!”
I still quote JBL to this day when I do household chores. "I am a weed-whacking GODDDDD"
You forgot backlash 2008 I think it was the hardy boys had an amazing tag team titles match and the fatal 4 way main event was a masterpiece
That was 07, Undertaker and Batista had a great last man standing match, Benoit MVP was really good and Mickie Vs Melina was one of the best womens matches of that era, All killer no filler show.
Yes i thought so i knew it was around then its was the pure definition of ruthless agression i wish they still wrote and booked matches like this
The thing about No Mercy 2007 was it was Orton's first (and second) WWE title, and honestly his first "real" world title since his run with the big gold belt in 2004 only happened in order to spite Brock Lesnar. He needed to be built up as a credible potential champion and that night did that as well as one night's worth of storytelling could have.
Finlays run was world class
'95-06 was THE BEST ERA OF WRESTLING, EVER!!
My favorite era
