BeccaBear People are more judgmental when you are young. Like say you take the public bus but you can't stand for long due to an accident, then people give you the stare for not give up your seat some some lady. Just because we are young doesn't mean we don't have a a major injury or a disability

They can be too big around the waist, too long from crotch seam to waist (thus the material folds down on itself), or too short in length (showing ankle and looking bizarre on me with high heels). I feel like I need tops in petite or regular length and trousers in tall but even that idea doesn't always work.
@Phonetically Correct yea for exemple someone close to me uses a wheelchair, becouse if she moves to MUCH her muscles get weaker and weaker. She has muscle dystrophy and other medical issues.
I think it makes you stronger. Having a disability and still living your life makes you even tougher than the rest. Don't be afraid! You're perfect the way you are.
Kaitlyn Defrench - Girl, it matters more to you than it does to them. If they are out with you, they're thinking about YOU, not your disability. I knew I would marry my husband when he got into an argument with a medical supplier because he didn't feel like the cane I got was pretty enough for me. Then, he shelled out money from his own pocket because he said I deserved a mother-of-pearl cane head that was "as moonlit as (my) skin." (Edit to add that I was 19 and he was 30 when we married, so don't just think it's only older guys that have open minds.)

for me it's just easier to use a chair in a big space like the grocery store or at like a concert. but at home..i generally use my crutches to get around because ti's a much smaller space so therefore easier (but that's just in my experience.. everybody's experience is different..especially pain tolerance,muscle strength,age etc)
The shoe thing is exactly what I say to my mum now she is in a wheelchair and when I use a mobility scooter, we can wear whatever shoes we want since we won't be falling in them or getting sore feet :) just use unattractive shoes to get into the wheelchair and swap them for some sexy ones x
Thank you for bringing awareness to the fact that even though we may need a wheelchair, we can be capable of standing for short periods or walking a few steps. I know it confuses onlookers, but there are many different conditions and reasons for needing one. It doesn't mean we are faking it! Believe me, if we could get away with not using one we would do so in an instant, the difficulties are real lol.

Zipstone depends on her condition. I have eds and no I don't have a wheelchair but my doctors and my pt wants me to get one as I'm getting weaker and my joints subluxe and dislocate even easier now and way more often. I know a lot of people with eds that use chairs and scooters and some of us can stand and walk for short amounts of time and then some can do it for a very long time depending on the severity and sometimes some of us are even confined full time in a chair or bed.
This was a super refreshing video from buzzfeed! I was getting super tired of all their videos surrounding the vanity of girls for literally every video.
Thank you Buzzfeed. As a woman in a wheelchair, thank you for having a realisitic representation of people in wheelchairs. Some of us can walk and stand for short periods of time, and that was shown in the video. People need to learn that a wheelchair does not mean we can't walk AT all.

many people in wheelchairs can stand or walk for short periods of time, they just need assistance for longer periods of time
Some people can stand and maybe walk a few steps, but can't do much more. They could either be in pain, or simply don't have the muscular strength.
A lot of people (like LoLo here) use a wheelchair out of the house. It doesn't have to be either or 100 % of the time.
