There is one small problem with this theory.
Shulkers were originally called "end_golem" in the game files. Indicating that shulkers are made from inanimate objects such as purpur and end stone. Jeb also originally wanted the shulkers to camouflage with the block they are sitting on which I don't think any mollusks can do.
However, the creeper has recently been accepted as plant, animal, and golem. One can see a tnt block, flesh, and bone in the mobestiary; Notch said creeper skin would feel like dry leaves; and Matpat has had creeper theories with relations to cats and peat moss. So the shulker could actually by a combination of golem and mollusk due to the old builders tampering with the powers of life and death. Like a Frankenstein monster.
Maybe they made the shulker as an attempt to escape the end (which worked eventually?)

*Minecraft: The End Documentary* --Narrated by Steve
(I will try and make sense of all of this and mash the concepts of this video and the minecraft books together. Here we go.) What if endermites are kind of like heartworms? They are a variation of silverfish that found themselves in the end through portals in the strongholds in which they spawn in. Instead of harassing the shulkers, they sort of live off of the chorus fruit, which has magical teleportation properties from the endstone soil beneath it. Endstone is a bacteria infested, porous rock that takes a natural element in the atmosphere of the end planet and synthesizes it into a magical energy. When the ancient humans came to the end, they adapted into endermen by eating the chorus fruit. One of the adaptations during the evolution from human to endermen, was the loss of ability to see green pigments, and gaining ultraviolet pigments in their eyes so they were able to see clearly in the darkness of the end. A creature with multi-colored eye pigments looking into their eyes for too long damages their UV-vision and they attack you. Their skin became dry and black to blend into their natural environment. When exposed to water, the skin becomes unnaturally and painfully moist and their nerves trigger a shocking involuntary boost in heart rate with spontaneous teleportation in the pearl until the nerves have calmed. Limbs also grew longer and thinner. The endermites act as ticks and imbed themselves into the endermen skin, but their thinner limbs mean that the mites would eventually hit the bloodstream. Endermites became heartworms for endermen, but the endermen evolved once again and became able to form a pearl/ thick layering over their mite-infected hearts. It would kill the mites and prevent more from imbedding themselves, but the pearl still acts as a heart, meaning blood pumps all over their body. The remains of the endermites within the center of the pearl still contain the magic of the chorus fruits that the mites lived off of, giving the endermen the ability to teleport just like the mites. When you kill an enderman, you receive its heart, linking into the minecraft books, which has a preserved endermite inside. This explains why you can use the pearls to teleport like an enderman. The mite within the pearl contains the magic of the chorus fruits which it lived off of. This also explains why chorus fruit allows you to teleport as well. The reason it is random is because there is no concentrated spot of teleportation, until you aim the magic through the use of throwing a pearl and you can teleport in a controlled manner. Shulkers were not responsible for making pearls because they didn't need to. They had their shells to protect against the mites. However, they still needed nutrients. They could've done this by eating the fruits, but that's not plausible since they can't move. The most likely source of nutrient for them came directly from the endstone similar to the way the fruits grew. Getting nutrients directly from the soil that they sit helplessly upon gave them the ability to teleport, but did not give them a pearl since the mites never got into their blood/hearts. The dragon is native to the end but cannot teleport because it doesn't get its energy from the endstone. It gets its energy from the crystals. When the dragon is killed, the energy is released, but the egg still needs to grow. With the mother having been disintegrated, the egg naturally begins taking nutrients in from anything. The strange bedrock portal that opens acts as the environments nest. The portal leads to the overworld, which provides heat for the baby which it needs to survive but no longer has from its mother's care. The overworld has a sun, while the end is practically in space. A hatched dragon can survive as a cold blooded animal from end crystals, but there are none left until they spawn again naturally. However, bedrock is also a conductor for the power of an end crystal, (It's the only block the crystal can be placed on) but presumably a small amount of its power since it is an impenetrable, but likely porus, rock. But this small amount of crystal power is enough to allow the baby to grow. The bedrock also provides a direct contact connection to the endstone, which gives the eggshell the ability to teleport when touched as a natural defense adaptation. When the baby hatches, it leaves the eggshell and its magic behind. Unlike a shulker, the shell is not one with the entity inside, so the magic doesn't enter the baby and it cannot teleport. When blaze powder is applied to a pearl, the blazing heat burns off the layering coat of the pearl, revealing an eye. Or more scientifically, a pigmented eyespot on the endermen's hearts which allowed for the detection of the UV pigments of the mites in their body and activated the pearl encasement of the heart. The "eye of ender" senses for mites, however, it cannot cross between worlds, so using the magic it absorbed, it takes you to the portal that brought the ancient humans to the end. And what if the elytra were actually prehistoric creatures that were once larger? They may have also been native to the end and lived off of the power of crystals since they flew around like dragons did. But what if they lived before dragons. When the dragon first spawned and began taking energy from the crystals, it was much larger and required more energy than any elytra and the elytra didn't have enough crystal energy. This led to them becoming extinct. However, during the time in which there wasn't enough resource to go around, the elytra that died dropped the fossils of their wings. When the enderman came about, they became a civilization. They built cities and strongholds from the blocks that they steal, and while stealing blocks from the end, they found the wings and stored them in the cities. Phew! I'm done. I think I unintentionally just became a qualified enderologist. Anyone have any questions?
I do. What did I just read?
@@doctorsketch7476 I… couldn’t tell you for sure. Can’t believe I wrote this much a year ago. Half of it probably doesn’t make sense, but whatever. Didn’t think anyone would read all the way through.

maybe the reason why chorus fruit plants can grow so high, is because thanks to the levitation powers they can resist the gravitational pull by making the top parts get pulled by the levitation itself, so that the plant can sustain itself. that also might be why endermen grow so tall, other than to take chorus fruit. i dunno, just my theory

This makes a ton of sense as pearls are created when a mollusk tries to surround a pest inside thus making a pearl. Theory: Piglins are Alchemists!?
Think of it, They are obsessed with gold, have enchanted armor in bastions, And the music .
Rubedo by Lena Raine: Rubedo means "redness in latin", that was adopted by alchemists to define the fourth and final major stage in their magnum opus. Both gold and the philosopher's stone were associated with the color red, as rubedo signaled alchemical success, and the end of the great work. This only plays in nether wastes biomes.
Chrysopoeia by Lena Raine: In alchemy, the term chrysopoeia refers to the artificial production of gold, most commonly by the alleged transmutation of base metals such as lead. This only playes in crimson forest biomes.
In conclusion, the piglins may have been a powerful being (maybe not pigs before) and with their knowledge and power they may have turned themselves to pigs (by accident) while trying to make certain nether quarts to gold. They now walk the nether in search of what is theirs. (gold)
Dammmm
....Nah, just natives(pigmen) being expelled & exploited by colonists(builders) that worked in mines(nether) for generations. Revolted against their masters, unintentionally made a zombie apocalypse due to starvation(ate warped shrooms probably), decided to go back but then see that they can't so they stayed at the nether, being haunted by the bones of their former masters, and generations passed and now they grown stronger and better at their new home. Until something that looked like their ancestors' oppressor showed up.

Tell me what are blaze, blazerods, blaze powder & eye of ender in reallife?
I want to know too!
I feel like I’m in a online class and the teacher is explaining stuff to me
Here is my theory:
The ancient builders must have had big civilizations, both underground and on land.
This explains the mineshafts and the temples.
The builders must have become friends with the Villagers to obtain emeralds, which can be found in temples.
Dungeons might have been these two:
Either the builders must have tried to work magic to make more people,so they must have contacted illagers and witches to help with the project before the illagers were, of course, kicked out of society, or the dungeons might have been storage chambers.
*PART TWO*
The Bug-pocalypse
With your theory, there must have been giant bugs if the bees and spiders are abnormally large.
After sometime, the bugs may have been too much for the humans, and overrun them. After that, the humans have left their buildings to decay and rot, which explains the moss and the cobwebs in the abandoned mineshafts and dungeons. The humans must have made a giant last stand which might have eradicated most of the big species. But they didn’t kill all of them, meaning that some must have pushed them to their limit to make the end portal.
Silverfish must have overrun the stronghold if it means that the strongholds that we as the player find are infested with infested blocks.
Some of the silverfish must have gotten in if it means that the shulkers make the ender pearls.
After a while, the ancient civilization evolved into the endermen, silverfish became endermites, and the old bugs died off, leaving spiders, bees, cave spiders, and silverfish. The humans may have brought over the elytras to remember the overworld. I could go on, but I’m getting tired. Make the ending of my theory in the comments!

Hey what's dirt irl? just want to know
No offense but you need to leave this up to mat pat and his team of game theorists.
Dude that was a great video, great job!
What my theory is about the beetles, is they were originally tiny, and tracked in on a builders shirt or luggage, and instead of adapting to the end, it just tried to get bigger, which didn't really help it, so it went extinct. For the shulkers, I think they may have been brought in there as a food source, since in real life they can be easier to farm. But as the builders began to become endermen, they developed a fear of water, due to their intelligence fading, and a genetic mutation. Because of this, they abandon their oyster farms, and the oysters started to starve. To avoid starving, they evolved, and went up onto land, and started feeding on the chorus fruit. This is why they developed their purple coloring, because the purple color from the chorus fruit changed their color, just like how flamingos are pink because of the pink krill they eat. Then the endermen started constructing the end cities, and stored the elytra's in their ship and used them as parachutes incase there was a malfunction on the ship. The endermites and the enderdragon were the only previous mobs to live there before the introduction of the builders, then endermen. It would make sense for the shulkers to keep the pearl ability because of the endermites, and they would crawl into their shells and act as parasites, feeding off the shulkers flesh. I believe that the builders killed the enderdragon, but then after the dragon was dead, and the builders were long gone, the dragon egg hatched and thats how there is still a dragon in the end when you get there. But after the dragon fight, the builders were very weak, and started to eat the chorus fruit. Just like the shulkers, they began to get the classic end abilities, and became endermen.

So, for your theory about shulkers being from the overworld, I highly doubt it. They have a similar color scheme to another native of the end, chorus trees. Also, nothing native to the overworld teleports naturally (not counting tamed mobs because that’s just a gameplay feature). I find it more likely that shulkers are native to the end, and only evolved a similar pearl mechanism to Earth mollusks through convergent evolution, where unrelated species evolve similar traits for similar environmental pressures, like irritants. So they’re not Earth mollusks at all, just the end equivalent to mollusks.

Things i'd like to point out:
the things shulkers shoot may be some sort of pear as well.
the pearls are confirmed to be the hearts of the endermen.
the endermen's jaws open and close similiarly to an oyster as well, so they may be the ones making the pearls.
The beetles and shulkers were abundant food sources and the ancient builders being builders and not hunters gathered these and used them as food. They brought them to the end possibly wanting a diet of more than chorus fruit. Slowly as the evolve into enderman so do the shulkers and beetles.
I love these videos I hope you make more
Theory: You mentioned the pearls could have been a currency. What if shulkers that produced them, paid them to the endermen ("ancient builders") in order for the endermen to build endcities for the shulkers to live in.
clever
I just thought about something funny from GameTheory's Enderman lore. So a couple of minutes into the video he said something like "They grabbed what recorces they could, and make end houses" so they had to eat the Chorus Fruit, thats how they adapted to enderman, is they ate chorus fruit. So I can imagine someone building an end city structure. The man gets hungry, he is pounding his hammer to make sure the blocks stay stuck together. He eats a chorus fruit, teleports infront of somone, and smacks him in the pinky toe, thinking it was a block.
