  • In this video, I show you guys how to repair the most common issue when the lexus is300 blows tail a light fuse. Most of the time, a few of the wires are melted together on the exhaust and short out. I also talk about the tail light fuse circuit. Then on the test drive, I go to the gas station to fill up the Turbo Lexus, and my downpipe has rubbed a hole in my brake line. Good thing I caught it before the car caught on fire!

RacecarAndChill I found one in 1C0. It’s In way better shape than the electric green mica I told you before. Automatic trans though. Doesn’t really matter much to me because it’s gonna be my daily. Your channel is a priceless source of knowledge for a newbie like me. Thank you.

On my is300 i had the same issue and for me it was the fog light pigtail it was cut not sure how but then again thats how i got it because previous owner couldnt fix the problem and well it was making contact with the chassis put electrical tape and it fixed the issue for the taillights

Looks like I must have looked at the wrong diagram then, because the diagram didnt day the fog lights were on that circuit, but I had the same problem.

Definitely a common problem on the platform when you go turbo. Time to relocate the battery to the trunk and move your ABS block up into its spot like we did on ours.
On the grand scheme of things a popped brake line definitely isn't fun but isn't expensive!

This is true! But it'll still be a couple hundred bucks. Couple hundred bucks here, couple hundred bucks there, these things are like owning a boat. 😅

@@RacecarAndChill oh indeed, unfortunately that's the price you pay for having a fly ride ;)

I’ve been struggling for weeks trying to figure out why my fuse kept popping, checking from aftermarket stereo to the panels. Wires subs. And totally forgot about the ones under back bumper. And of course right above exhaust is were it had been cutt

The wire going across the rear. I have an Altezza rear bumper so I don’t have that wire. Is that for the bumper reflector lights? Building an is300 now and I can’t get the tail lights to come on. Everything else for the park lights are on. Only when the brakes are hit they come on. Great videos

Yea, that wire is for the "parking lights" that the jdm bumpers don't have. Check the wiring to the front fog lights. I think that's where my problem was.

RacecarAndChill after all this research and 4 weeks long. It was two wires from the tail light failure box. Idk why the idiots had cut them. As soon as I connected them lights came on. Smh. Thanks tho. Keep the videos coming. Helpful to my build. Check me out on ig SRTWIL93

Your brake lines got too hot and melted/broke from the heat. Time to replace some lines and get that heat away from them
