I have one problem. How can you determine that your car is level with the other car in order to make the first turn to the left please? Please check 2:12. Otherwise a very well explained video ☺
@@seane_beane We always list the camera equipment in the video description. For this video we used an original DJI Mavic Pro, but we have also used a Spark in the past. We have since upgraded to a Mavic 2 Zoom :-)
My instructor has confused me with this manoeuvre by making it seem overly complicated and breaking it up into too many steps, but this 1-2-1 method has really helped me understand what I need to do. I’ve got a driving lesson this afternoon so I’ll give this a go, thanks. Wish me luck!

This was really easy to understand. My driving instructor has a weird way of telling me how to do this so I will follow this and my Dad's method from now on.
I passed my test today and wanted to say a huge thanks as parallel parking was an area I really struggled with as I never knew when to turn the wheel right and I struggled with the angle, but by watching this video I understood that I needed to wait for the curb to disappear in the left mirror. I didn’t get parallel park in my test, but this really helped!
I took a break from learning driving for a year out of anxiety, my only regret is not using that time sooner just to keep pushing! I've been watching this video about 20 times and it helps to memorise the process 😄 cheers for that. Hope to pass driving in 2023.
I’ve been having lessons for a year now and honestly I feel like giving up and leaving it alone until I’m older because the amount of stress and anxiety it’s causing me makes me want to quit. I know I shouldn’t because it’s a very good skill to learn, but but I’m finding it tough to keep going. Glad to see someone else feels the same.
@@Cascade-xf6vc im so glad to read this, the amount of anxiety i get on the day of a lesson, or even the week i have one is like i've never felt before, but i feel bad if i stop them because of the amount of money already spent on lessons. just going to have to push through it, you got this.
@Deathllyhallows I am exactly the same. Driving makes me feel really sick and anxious because of my anxiety but I am trying to just push through it and get my driving license. I have my driving test in the next few days and it's worrying me sick. I cant think about anything else. You can do it. I believe in you. Ive been driving on and off for about 2 years. It does slowly get better the more you drive. It's worth it in the end.
I recently passed and had a big break from learning. I think having the right instructor is so important, as the right instructor will give you confidence. I also saved up my annual leave and booked a week intensive course with '2nd to none'. I also learned to just drive automatic so less to think about and I only ever wanted to drive an electric car anyway. Good luck all ❤
With my former driver instructors, she taught me this 1-2-1 technique but new instructor taught me 1 full lock to the left and 1 full lock to the right and made it easier to remember...
Hi guys, for this move, always make sure to check your blind spot and out the back window and all around the car - a lot of students get stuck as they focus so much on the side windows rather than looking all around. Good luck!
Thank you, i had to Reverse Parallel Park today on my lesson for the first time, and on the first attempt my instructor said i nailed it, and then on the 2nd he said i must be a perfectionist as i completed it perfectly, all thanks to your explanation.
was watching this in preparation for my test yesterday and by some luck got the easiest of them all, pull up on the right and reverse 2 cars length. passed first time😎

What a great video clip. I passed my test back in 1965 . Parallel parking was neither tested or practised. Consequently I've spent years only parking where there is an acre of space between cars. I watched this video and put it into practice today...100% perfect...can't thank you enough !!!!

Great video, the reference points and turns really helped me get this manoveour right. 1-2-1 method is great and easy to remember when you're practicing all you have to do it remember the ref points for your car and you're good.

1-2-1 for new drivers is best. I got my license in 2018 but never drive until i started driving 3 months ago. Pararrel is very easy but i fail it here and there. I got it finally after watching this video and 1-2-1 is the perfect.

I also use this method but I remind my self with saying Lions Roar Really Loud. It’s a bit silly but my instructor told me this. So it’s one turn to the Left then straighten up with one turn to the Right then reverse till the kerb disappears then it’s 2 turns to the Right then straighten up when square.

I had an hour of a lesson today and went ahead to pass my practical test with zero driving fault. On the wheels, your videos /explanations kept playing on my mind, am not but I drove like a pro. thanks for this video this explains the whole thing much simpler and gives easier reference points the one about the curb disappearing is such useful information. As the video says I would drive much slower for more control. Driving instructor I had years ago never explained it like this in steps which is more useful.
Very useful, this is one my wife is having problems with. When we drove through Bury last week, we were "playing", Spot the Advance Driving School Car, I think we had four :)

Turning the wheel to the right - a rly good reference point can be used when theres a car parked behind and well, ud turn right when the left corner of the car behind appears in the right mirror

I failed on not looking through my back window enough not found a video yet saying to look through it obviously still use mirrors and blind spots

feels like 1-2-1 is safer as it leaves more space around cars as you're turning

I was taught ALL ALL 2 -- turn all the way to the right, all the way to the left, 2 turns to reset
There are lots of different methods, whatever you prefer is fine!
