  • I brought the camera along this time on one of my wood hauling expeditions here in Northwest Oregon. I could use my F-250, but what would the fun be in that. The 1941 is mostly restored and used mostly for parades in town, but occaisionally that old babbit pounder gets to venture out into the real world. The truck is original as it was back on the farm in Claresholm Alberta. Thanks to my friend Todd for filming the stuck scene. Didn't expect to get bogged down in the mud, as I backed in there like it was nothing. There's nothing better than driving a vintage stovebolt down a country lane with a couple of cords of firewood on the back.

I have had a 100 km ride in a similar Chevrolet truck, in 1963; I was 10... Today, I still have the music of the gearbox in my ears. Thank you for this video 😊

Damn... That is Absolutely KOOL!!! That brought back So Many Wonderful memories. I have a First Series 1955 6500 Wrecker. I was going to restore it. But, I think I will keep making it Completely Functional, But leave the body and Wrecker bed like they are. She has her scars from the past 64 years... But, So do I. And, I am Proud of what I went through to get them... So is the Ol Wrecker.

when i was a kid (as late as 1971), you could make a good living hauling cattle, grain, sugar beets or logs with just that type of truck. lol

Need to put some mud grips on that old girl. My dad had a 50 Chevy 2 ton. That he had mounted a drilling rig on. When I was a kid. He always ran deep lug mud grips on all his trucks. For that reason.

Drive like that day in and day out that gear whine come to be less and less like music, but a noise that grinds one down. Looks to be a nice old truck though

Had a 1951 once the distributor was vacuum advance, funny when you gave it gas that it would turn, also had vacuum windshield wipers, looks like this one has the hand crank for wipers, not remembering the engine (218, or 235) anyway it did NOT have an oil filter, had a cracked block so I welded it. Lol. And i think it also had an electric heater - box looking thing, never used it. The old push pedal for starter. Lol
