- I brought the camera along this time on one of my wood hauling expeditions here in Northwest Oregon. I could use my F-250, but what would the fun be in that. The 1941 is mostly restored and used mostly for parades in town, but occaisionally that old babbit pounder gets to venture out into the real world. The truck is original as it was back on the farm in Claresholm Alberta. Thanks to my friend Todd for filming the stuck scene. Didn't expect to get bogged down in the mud, as I backed in there like it was nothing. There's nothing better than driving a vintage stovebolt down a country lane with a couple of cords of firewood on the back.
I have had a 100 km ride in a similar Chevrolet truck, in 1963; I was 10... Today, I still have the music of the gearbox in my ears. Thank you for this video 😊
I love the sounds those old transmissions make.
Straight cut gears!
These are the type of videos I love to watch, people with nice old trucks and putting them to work! Thanks for sharing the fun :)
Damn... That is Absolutely KOOL!!! That brought back So Many Wonderful memories. I have a First Series 1955 6500 Wrecker. I was going to restore it. But, I think I will keep making it Completely Functional, But leave the body and Wrecker bed like they are. She has her scars from the past 64 years... But, So do I. And, I am Proud of what I went through to get them... So is the Ol Wrecker.
I agree, l keep my stuff in their work clothes.
So nice to see old trucks still being used. Fantastic video and a fantastic truck
Nice! Using that old iron for what it was intended for!
I can smell the clutch smoking from here. What a beautiful old girl!
What an amazing truck. I'm glad you are using it as it was intended.
Thanks, I hope you and that truck are still running strong! Makes me like my '66 Chevy K10 even more.
when i was a kid (as late as 1971), you could make a good living hauling cattle, grain, sugar beets or logs with just that type of truck. lol
And, I'll bet this truck is paid for! Now, It's paying you with the work it's doing!
Want a truck like this....Oregon reminds me alot of my Tennessee home.
Amazing! Still doing yeoman's duty after all of these years.
I always ask these youtubers with garage queens if they haul gravel. You have answered that question.
That’s what those 235 6x were for, power of its day.
yesss!!! I love that gear sound too!!!
Fun adventure, great driving and a fine truck...

awesome thanks for the ride . my pa was born in 22
ahh the good ol days of straight cut gears. when men were men and sheep were scared lol
That’s still the way it is with heavy trucks.
The trucks that built America, got us through a Great Depression and won a world war.
Really nice truck! Now a nice winch.
Beautiful old truck!
Need to put some mud grips on that old girl. My dad had a 50 Chevy 2 ton. That he had mounted a drilling rig on. When I was a kid. He always ran deep lug mud grips on all his trucks. For that reason.
See this is what these old trucks are built for and not sitting in a barn or garage rotting to the ground
My grandparents had one and in the Summer here in Oklahoma he would open the windshield and we got cool.
Those low gears sure could haul as well!
my KB3's transmission whines exactly the same... Never thought it would be straight cut gears
Hahahahhah - i know moose and you are right about the brakes - especially with a warmed up small block. You are beautiful
Drive like that day in and day out that gear whine come to be less and less like music, but a noise that grinds one down. Looks to be a nice old truck though
love it!
Had a 1951 once the distributor was vacuum advance, funny when you gave it gas that it would turn, also had vacuum windshield wipers, looks like this one has the hand crank for wipers, not remembering the engine (218, or 235) anyway it did NOT have an oil filter, had a cracked block so I welded it. Lol. And i think it also had an electric heater - box looking thing, never used it. The old push pedal for starter. Lol
Hand crank was for opening the front windscreen.
Amazing truck.
5-10 psi oil pressure but will run forever!
Nice vid!
soooo sweet!
Bitchin...awesome old Chevy
Also, if you are listening those straight cut gears winning, you don't need a tach...

Nice
Now that's a truck
I had more fun watching because I didn't have to help dig it out.. lol
Shove strips of bark under the wheels to get traction.
Lucky man
Thats a good 👍 old Chevrolet. You would of broke a new one. I have a 1926 Oldsmobile unrestored and a 1936 Chevrolet 5 window coupe. Good 👍 old iron.
Sorry, I've had one 41 chevy truck and it has syncro in all gears except in the first !
If it was smaller than a 1 ton thats why
Piece of chain-link fence and pull your right out of there cowboy
Tire chains, tire chains, tire chains.
lawrence fure fuck you, your a tire chain
gear sounds just like both of my trucks.. all be it the new truck is way quieter..
This fool does not have any chains.
how much gasoline does it take?
