- How to build a motorcycle, driveable with no lisence required! Take it anywhere a bike can go, all with great fuel economy.
Picked up a kit from monsterscooterparts for $138, a bike for $30, and combined them to create a completely legal little motorcycle. With 1.5hp and a 22mph top speed, upgradeable to 30mph with $10. Althought i had to weld some partz of the frame, these modifications can be installed with nuts and modifications. I had to re-tap the rear engine mounts to 3/8 and 5/16, mostly because I ripped it way to hard.

Bro your missing spokes, something your gonna regret ether soon or later
Chain tensioner goes on the bottom part of the chain!!! Bad sht happens when you put it on like you did.
robertpolicastro1 yeah dude there’s thing after thing with this bike this kids and idiot
if you ever build any more two stroke motors i highly recommend taking two stroke oil and putting it on your fingers. the metal inside is very well machined and precise. same goes for four stroke engines but use four stroke oil instead. great video man!!!!
This is the only video on CZcams that shows this engine on a bmx bike. Thanks for sharing your hobby and your insight. Keep up the great work.
Actually this makes me think of the cool things they would build on the old British TV show Junkyard Wars from the late 1990s. :)
dang that's a blast from the past.
That show was awesome
Very impressed with your skill set for a kid of your age.
That’s sick that you did that on a bmx frame I’m a Moutan bike person I do have a bmx but never would I imagine someone doing that to a bmx definitely really dope
That’s a creative outcome sir, nice job !
One observation; the chain tensioner should mount to put the tension to the slack side of the chain run.
And another viewer comments that the clutch lever should mount on the left grip
Now ride it til the steering head breaks off, or until the cops impound it 😃
Great to see young generation using tools to build. Great job!
Clutch goes opposite the throttle.
u gave me the idea to buildmy own lol my bmx was only 13 pounds before then added the 80cc/66cc engine kit and ported the cylinder added a reed valve and expansion chanber i hit 55 with it lol but the torque and uphill power is awesome
Great Job! I plan on doing something similar where I put one of these engines in a old razor pocket mod scooter.
Thanks! Good luck with ur build
This is cool, thinking about using a pocket bike engine with a 47-49CC displacement . Cool build. Motorized bikes and Beater Cars are a awesome way to get around
Good video there mad fun I have a bunch of bikes on my channel but haven’t tried pegs yet
If you drill 2 one quarter inch holes in the bottom of that exhaust it helps it breathe and sounds deep and good actually.
Btw if your making one of thos make sure you get a good frame cuz mine snapped in half while going 10 kmh
What’s a good frame?
hahahahhaahahhaha that made my day
it’s a fun box tho it won’t snap
Excellent tutorial.
Chain tensioner should be holding the lower chain. Doing it that way will create excessive wear on the plastic roller
You can get a sprocket adapter the mounts it on the hub to the sprocket find them on e-bay
Good for you Kiddo great job!
Never cut wire (or a spring) with your tin snips!😱😭creates little grooves or imperfections in the blades and when you need to actually cut metal with them again they will make a jagged and very rough cut, full of little “meat hooks” as we call them. Yuck! Nice video though! Good job!
yep, dealing with those now. damn meat hooks
Hardware Unboxed coming for you background music😂
Gotta rev it higger atleast i did with mine had that similar little bog like it wants to shut off after lettin out the clutch revit up a little higher n try it or u might be just lettin the clutch out a little to slow ...
Oh my got awesome video 😍
You still did do good just make more videos on how you did it my son would definitely be the first one to watch he's still buying everything like you did and he's putting it on a Haro made a couple of mistakes but you still dead good just to get you more views just make sure you fix the things that you messed up in the other video and you got this Bud once it's fully set and done make a video on how you did it and what you did to do it to show people it's not so hard and you'll get a lot more views of people trying to do it good luck and good job bud
Great video well done
Basically a paperboy's company car. :)
They make a smaller sprocket for the race bikes, since that's geared for a 26 inch wheel and that's alot smaller I bet it would even out and probably pick up some speed
I've got tuff rims on my bmx, i'l see how they'll do with the sprocket
Looks good man
I got a lot of parts to build me one just like this where u get the bike stand
Looks like a fun toy to have.
Have you tried trail riding on this pretty cool BMX bike?
My motorized bike was on a beach cruiser Frame and it got up to 45mph going up hill
Top notch video. I might do this, but with a 20" lowrider cruiser bike.
that would be badass
@@kartingkid714 right now I'm working on a prototype. Pocket bike engine with 415 sprocket.
I’ve wondered if one would fit in an old 20” schwinn
@@GratefulEd907 I'm assuming it's the micargi hero or a Schwinn lowrider bicycle that fits. I saw what looked like them in Walmart at some point.
My son has an old 20” firestone warrior frame from the 50s-60s not sure exactly when it was made but it’s cool we’ve made a few “rat bikes” with it
Run maxima formula K2 mixed at 32:1 along with ethanol free 91 octane gas and you will never have a failure
good ish my guy u think i can put pegs on a alpinestars MtB its a retro with the str8 handle bars
Do some intake and exhaust mods
you can hear the engine chatter when you don't feather the clutch when going slow/ coasting
that's the clutch chattering. These are really cheap parts and the inside of the clutch often has major imperfections which cause them to be quite noisy.
En qué parte de USA lo mandastes a comprar yo quiero uno como hago dime y seguiré los pasos.
I feel like to slightly improve this great design just add some bracing for the frame around the motor to keep the frame from bending on you. :)
He did... did you finish the video??
Similar to Neves' Project Motorized BMX bike.
Seems the engine runs heavily. You could use some oil mixture there, a bit of 2t oil with gas will do.
He used pure gasoline, i can tell that it'll have some cylinder damage because it has little to no lubrication
I don’t know if you’ll see this but I have a problem with putting on the chain it hits my frame since it’s too close to the sprocket any suggestions on what I should do?
Why did you have to bend the frame for this build? Did the exhaust not clear the frame/pedals?
Nice video. A little loud for my taste tho. I have a electric bmx. I like a more stealthy ride that you can take anywhere.
I got a question ..the kit I got..there is no head..it's all one piece..ever seen one like this..does it work. I'm building now
I should have had one of these when I went to college a few years ago and I did not have a car because there was no where to park.
It would have been especially good to have after I have a bad ankle sprain and had to walk really far on campus.
@@notthatdigusted7468 they didnt have campus buses?
@Lane AWD agreed, not only because of specs but also reliablility. i ran this poor motor into the ground thinking it woukd hold up, pretty much only rode at or around redline. Only lasted 2 weeks
@Lane AWD same, built a bike for a customer with an 80cc baja. literally cost me $50 to make and i could cruise at 30 still governed
When building the motorized BMX do you have to place the fuel tank higher than the bike motor or does it work fine keeping it at the same level? I was just thinking about this to simplify the ascetics of my motorized BMX bike design while keeping it functional.
Preferably higher then the carb so gravity can pull it down, other wise you'll need some type of fuel pump
Yep I just got the century fc 90 also
Since this bike is primarily built for wheelies how's the frame holding up? Has it bent anywhere? Worried it will break in half with the top tube cut out. Awesome build man!
For a while it will but the welds will break eventually needs reinforced but I don't even think that the frames going to be Boeing outwards
Do you think a motor will fit a 2015 kink launch?
Have you ever considered a e-bike conversion kit? Would be more practical, this thing is crazy
so at 4mins did you say you had to find the adaptor plate?or was it in the box?
You didn't show us if the piston was in the correct direction... You know the pins in the ring grooves go towards the intake side... right?
The idler pulley shld be on the bottom of chain bro.. the "loose" side or NOT the "pulling side"..
He will realize sooner or later when it goes to shit
How fast did it go
I was happy to get a cheaper BMX bike from Walmart for around $88 for this project. Cheaper BMX bikes are really hard to find because of the virus.
Do you think if it was but on a 29 inch bmx you would still need a chain tensioner?
depends. the kits always come with more chain than you need, most people used to run tensioners but then accidents started to happen where the tensioners came loose and got caught in people's wheels, so now people mostly just shorten the chain and completely remove the tensioner.
Fun build dude,,but your shadow is the one who deserves the likes lol..
It is legal to ride when I do not have a driver's license on such a bike when the content is 48cc and how much power and speed it has
i think you should be fine driving it without a license, thats the reason I built mine
That old weird tire rubber thing is called a rag joint.
Thanks for the info
Take the bottom of the exhaust off more torque and top speed
The motor has to be a certain way. Otherwise fuel/air ratio will not give max results. Engines built a certain way for liquid to travel
I have a couple motorized bikes which are 26 and a double seat but I got to try this with a 20-in and did you have pegs on yours?
I dont think i had pegs on it, good luck with your build tho!
I bet the frame snapped im welding the bars instead more strength.
Do you know if this is legal in Maryland?
that's sick but damn are those engine burns on your leg? Those are some savage battle scars :O, maybe it needs a heat shield as well. Totally epic video though thanks for doing this.
i really wannna put one on a slack dirt jump MTB frame do you think it would fit without cutting the frame?
To be honest i dont know off yhe top of my head. these motors work for classic hard tail mountain bikes so if its anythung similar to that youre probably good
Most people install the chain tensioner to lift the bottom,, return part of the chain. How is yours working out for the long haul?
Tensioner broke haha
@@kartingkid714 I guess it couldn't take da heat! How about the frame, is it still holding up with the angle iron brace?
Basically a common form of transportation in China, Vietnam, India, Thailand, etc.
Devon Faulds
Got em.
When you cut the top bar off it turns it into an accident waiting to happen. Why do people try to convert the worse bike frame.
Yeah and your Welds going to break up by your gooseneck or on the bottom watch and see what I tell you because I've done before this tutorial .trust me I've done this on a Matt Hoffman trick bike with double wall rims.
I would take pics and show you what it happened about three weeks ago and since then I've done got rid of the bike and got a mongoose grudge that works perfectly for wheelies ...be careful bub where a helmet in case it does snap
smart ass kid. good job bro, just a little fyi. you an get these kits off of wish. sometimes u can find the whole kit for 50 cents! but they sell thes kits on wish all the time. all sizes 48 cc -80 cc. sick video dude.
50 cents???? damn how do they even make money😭thanks for the support homie
@@kartingkid714 not sure brother, but you will see them for that price once in a while, and wish always has discount codes. so u can get it basiclly for free. might want o look into that, build a bike for people for 250 and spend 50 cents on parts. ull be rich. 249.50 profit each bike. and no problem dude, good to see kids learning like this.
You see them for that much. But the y make it up with the shipping.
Is this legal in California
Thx for the video! Do u know if this will fit on a 24 in bmx bike
Not looking to cut the frame
I honestly dont know
How much would I have to pay you to make me one
Mine don't stay on idle when I squeeze the clutch it shuts right off?
Tighten up the throttle cable or turn the idle screw all the way in.
@@sml156 thank you I will give it a try
Hey can you tell me if I can fix the sound because it's too loud
Nope A basic muffler is about all you can do to a 2 stroke. A lot of the sound isn't just the exhaust comes from the engine sides itself. A decent muffler definitely mutes the poppy explosion sound but the rest of it remains. Possibly heat proof sound shielding could help that's about it though would be tricky to design and might hurt the airflow if done wrong. Better off with a 4 stroke if going for silence or maybe even an e-bike. E bike has the distance and charge issue but depending on use could be better.
Basically the vehicle of choice for a paperboy.
pretty much
It is very likely that is a 66cc kit.
yo its ben a few years and just curious if the frame ever broke
I don't remember if I reinforced the frame in the video, but after that it never had issues. Ended up selling it for parts cus I blew it up, moved on to bigger and better thibgs
Seems dope homeboy
thanks g
I always think it is cool how even though the BMX bikes are very small a full grown person can still ride on them if they are average height. 🤔🤔🤔🤨🤨🤨
That’s what they were made for
Where do you find cheaper used BMX for building a motorized BMX bike because new BMX bikes are expensive?
I go to offerup. i just found a guy with a bike, offered him 30 and he took it
I got that same engine kit...I just need tools
Nice Schwinn bmx
you have to put a 35 tooth plate with this one it will not go fast
Hey dude my bmx looks like it wont have space to put this and I want to put one of these beasts on it but instead a 80cc do you think it will fit ??
definitely going to have to mod the frame bro
@@kartingkid714 ok thanks for telling me I will mod the frame I'm exited till mine arrives 👍😁
@@doom2507 awesome, good luck w ur build!
@@kartingkid714 thanks bro
How is this street legal
So how long before the Frame snapped
Never did
When mine was stock it went 35 mph that one should too
Depends on how many ccs your engine is
U should seriously make sure the lil c clips that holds the wrist pin in is completely seated. That’s the biggest failure for these engines, they vibrate out very easily
That’s a 80cc cause size of intake
wish i could do this but i have no clue where my dad put my bmx
i got this one for $30 on offerup so ull prolly be able to find one
@@kartingkid714 yeah for sure, they're usually wicked cheap everywhere. my old one was too small anyway
Обкатку проходить не надо.
Осталось только схватить тепловой прихват когда будешь катать его руками
🐐 🐐
Cool
Next, Phantom 85 on a 26 inch BMX.
is it still running good? and how fast does it go?
Ran great till a washer fell in the intake lol. It did 23 with a 44T sprocket and 30ish with a 36T sprocket
Karting Kid hey that’s decent but if you did some upgrades like a expansion chamber, Cnc high compression head, And a reed valve you will get 45-50
Can this still be done without a welder?
paranromal lover yeah man for sure I did it with mine u just have to cut the top pipe like he did but make sure there’s enough space to put it tank on. Cut it short first and adjust if it doesn’t fit
@@itzkostya7453 ^what he said^
Put a stereo system on it too
The 2 stroke kits are loud make more power need more work and have a clutch but are much cheaper the 4 stroke kits are much more expensive quieter but make less power
