- RGG studio told Horii-san that singing KARAOKE is a terrible idea because it’s way out of Kiryu’s personality...
So here's the history of the karaoke in Like A Dragon games

Like a Dragon, formerly known in English-language regions as Yakuza, is a Japanese video game franchise by Sega. The franchise incorporates elements of the action-adventure, beat 'em up, and role-playing genres..
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a continuation of the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth stars Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu as dual protagonists. In spite of the format, Kasuga serves as the main character from start to finish, with Kiryu framed as a supporting character in Kasuga's story.

Kiryu getting absolutely devastated after losing a game of pocket circuit is by far the best kiryu has been more expressive
Kiryu's face looked like someone ran over a puppy when he loses at pocket circuit
It's crazy to imagine yakuza without kareoke
It called judgment. It's good but will never as good as yakuza
@@kentacohbpencils809because it's not Yakuza, Apple to Orange type of comparison, at least story wise
@@derpedfox it's yakuza game. Just focus on detective side. I mean even yakuza kinda murder solving game. Both game are similar, more like compare green apple to red apple. Npc using same model and animation, have same map, you fight with multiple fighting style and both game you fight some random encounter. Judgement you also have to defend Tojo clan member
that's just og yakuza 1, 2 and both judgements lmao even kurohyou and ishin have karaoke
For real, I was bummed when I played Lost Judgement for the first time and there wasn't any karaoke
Imagine your singing is so good it singlehandedly convinced the studio to add Karaoke
Kiryu is one of the deepest stoic characters I've had the great joy to experience. There are so many aspects to his personality and somehow none of them feel out of place.
Horii-San: here you have Takaya Kuroda singing
Nagoshi: Thats rad
and make this Uncle Kaz more lovable.
This decision changed the entire direction of the series from a crime drama about yakuza to an over the top wacky crime drama about Yakuza
Luckily Takaya Kuroda was such a great singer and was able to bring Kiryu Karaoke to life 😭
Without him doing the recordings, memes like the dame dane wouldnt have been born
its also great that the English VA for it also sang so terribly that it made meme status which ended up helping its sales lol
He's wasn't that bad on other songs just not Judgement and not machine gun kiss. Pride from despair was so so
Honestly some of the singing was actually pretty decent but got ruined by excessive auto tune
Takaya is legit a good singer. I wish he had more music, but i suppose he spent a lot of time with the Yakuza games!
I'm pretty sure he's in a band.
@@yapflipthegrunt4687yup, he is. I forgot the band name though lol.
Takaya Kuroda and Goodfellas is his band iirc
His va is in a game where he raps! Its called hypnosis microphone
@@window_waters4759i was just abt to mention this LOL
The karaoke really adds to the personality of Kiryu. The main character represents the paragon of good characters, and the karaoke really adds substance to Kiryu's character as whole living in a society, where we can relate to him
Not to mention we also were kinda hoping Kiryu was more then “brick wall that fights”
Shout out to hori san and takaya kuroda. Imagine an alternate timeline where yakuza games don't have karaoke
Good! We would’ve have gotten such amazing songs like Baka Mitai, Judgment, & Honolulu City Lights if karaoke wasn’t included.
Karaoke was best thing to happen for Yakuza
kiryu’s va is already a singer so it would be such a missed opportunity if they scrapped the idea
SHOWER KIRYU!!!!
So it's all thanks to Kiryu that we have Friday Night memes
Thank you, uncle Kaz
Shoutout to Horii-san.
kiryu was never a "brick wall that punches people"
I think it was more so Nagoshi who was against it, NOT Yokoyama
JAN JAN JA JA JA JA
It helps that Kuroda-san has a fantastic voice. 😀
I can't Imagine Yakuza without the iconic Baka Mitai~
Fucking love Kiryu's interjections
anyone who thinks kiryu is just a brick wall has absolutely no media literacy
And frankly where would Yakuza be today if not for the karaoke? We came for the memes, but stayed for the dreams 💚💚💚
if not for karaoke i probably would've never gotten into the series, and im sure thats true for a lot of people. it's great that it ended up getting added
Even strict or stoic people have the right to goof off!
baka mitai is the sole reason i bought yakuza. i knew nothing else about the game besides the karaoke songs. without it i never woulda played 😨
What is the waterfall mini game?
Its su goated my favourite feature
Taghaya Ghuroda? Did you choke while recording that line?
You have a singer as the VA and you DONT THINK ITS A GOOD IDEA FOR HIM TO SING?
Aside from being a brick wall who punches people
Yeah like how many people see Part 3 Jotaro lol
and not a single game didn't have hits
Goddamn click bait
What is that accent lmao
I cant stand karaoke. Why should i listen to people who sound horrible but in this games its fun as hell.
