Like! For systems without AGP, the Voodoo 3 was the best option in 1999-2001, better than any TNT2 and even GF 2 MX.

GeForce 2MX had some serious problems with PCI. You can See that Voodoo3 was build for PCI Performance wise.✌️

I was born in 2000 and I don’t remember this time. but I feel the atmosphere when all these technologies were new and improved exponentially every year

Times were crazy back in the days. Even from 97- 2000 was a 1000% Performance increase... crazy

@@blastfromthepast3073 I think it's all about the low base effect. We are probably seeing the same thing with AI today.

That Voodoo3 is killin it. I guess it helps being 16-bit only, but still. Also that GT 610 is unfortunately lame. I really shouldn't expect much from a GT card but its still a Kepler card.

All graphics cards were tested in 16Bit 👍

GT 610 is not Kepler, it is a rebrand based off of Fermi using the GF119-300-A1 GPU. At any rate, it should still be no worse than the 6200 (assuming the PCI interface as the bottleneck) because its raw GPU potential should be about ~3x. I'm guessing its largely due to the drivers.

It's funny how if you owned card made in 1999/2000 there was no need for upgrade till like 2004.
But again - it propable mostly shows how lazy was Nvidia was in a first few years after 3dfx downfall.

Aahhh... the days! I remember well when I played Quake and Unreal Tournament on a VooDoo3 3000! the GeForce 6200 is pretty much rock'n roll, especially back in the day!
Btw what's the soundtrack playing on this video?

Sweet Times! Voodoo3 was the best Option for UT with best visuals. The GeForce 6200 was cheap with good Performance. A good choice to replace GeForce 2 and older. Best Option for PCs without AGP.

@@blastfromthepast3073 GeForce 6200 was kinda miracle, it outperformed FX 5900 in Shader 2.0 games and was unlockable into GeForce 6600 (128 bit bus model). And all of this, under 100$ price. Later nVidia made locked chip on 64 bit bus and also called GeForce 6200, when it basically should be GeForce 6100.

I have a PCIe to PCI bridge here so I can run any PCIe card on a normal PCI. This saves me from having to buy PCI graphics cards, which are often significantly overpriced. However, you should only use simple low-profile cards or cards with a power connection, as the PCI slot can only provide around 25 watts.

    • @blastfromthepast3073
      @blastfromthepast3073  Před 4 měsíci

Of course! A 75w PCIe Graphics Card without Power connector could harm your PCI Slot. Very important advise from you. ✌️

@@blastfromthepast3073 But I've also run a GTX 750 Ti and GT 640. So far, no problems. I also have a system with a Radeon R7 250 and 2 GB, and it works perfectly. I haven't noticed any power problems yet.

Как то подозрительно сильно Geforce 2MX в конце стал уступать TNT2M64

GeForce 2MX had big Trouble on PCI Bus. I checked different drivers. Maybe static T&L kills Framerate.

The problem is is that the truth is is nvidia and i believe ati and amd aswell... Did it on purpose.. Itsvthere way if forching us all to buy there new hard ware.. That way they'll keep on making money..
Now imagine in not to far future.. Where you buy a new pc which cost same as brand new good car out of box.. Just to find out some years later it cant play games anymore.. Sad where this world is going to.
