@@blastfromthepast3073 yeah it really suprised me. I knew the 9700 pro was a bomb but doom 3 was heavily nVidia developed and it said everywhere it favoured nVdia cards.

​@@blastfromthepast3073wont it cause problems that the car will run too rich on stock cams etc i have installed a k&n intake and that alone made the car so much faster then stock but i want to take it further

I have also heard that if you install the 6n2 gti intake manifold it will give you most performance boost because the stock intake manifold on the golf 1.6 16v is very limiting but you need to do a remap to 7k rpm to get most out of the new intake manifold

@@yod2189 you can try it. Your O2 Sensor should regulate. I adjust the pressure because i had a bad a Feeling in high rpms. Ive got much better throttle response and faster rev at high rpms.

@@yod2189 early 1.6 16V and "6n1 GTI" manifold where the Same. I never checked the 6n2 GTi Engine in Detail.

Hm... Both wont fit on 16V. But yes you can Switch the manifold on both 8V.

@@blastfromthepast3073 i have 1.6 8V apf and i want some more hp and i heard installing intake manifold from 2.0 can increase some little ponies, but also im trying to find what throttle body i can put to also increase performance

@@grubydzban6132 ah ok. The 8V is not limited by the intake manifold. You can use the 2.0 manifold but you have use the silver plastic "Schaltsaugrohr" manifold. The throttle body is big enough and same as the 2.0. there are different exhaust manifold versions. The steal one is the best for flowing. The 1.6 and 2.0 crossflow were limited by the original camshaft. A good Aftermarket camshaft and a good exhaust manifold will bring the Engine to a much better HP Output. Both Zylinderheads have a good airflow (for a 8V) there is No need to Change. The original VW "G" Camshaft should fit to, but can't say if its better. Please check out your fuel pump. Many Golf4 were driven by dead fuel Pumps. No power by high rpm and Lambda goes beyond 1!

I forget to say. Don't use a Aftermarket exhaust Setup with more than 55mm . You will lose to much torque on low rpm. You only have 4 exhaust valves and the Abgase (sorry don't know Engl. word) need some Speed threw the exhaust to clear the Brennraum (sorry) to get more space for fresh air and fuel . Its better to replace the first silencer with a pipe than a bigger exhaust Setup.

Onlinegaming is very demanding these days. Last time i played Q3A online with my daily Retro Setup. Its a Athlon 700 with Voodoo3 and i can say the Voodoo3 is not the Problem. Biggest Problem is the online Connection (USB 1.0?). A K6-2 500 wouldn't help a lot. (I realy like AMD K6)

@@blastfromthepast3073 it’s a Realtek 8029 pci 100mbit Ethernet network card. Maybe the 3com 9xx pci network card would have better performance.

I found out the solution. I replaced the miniGL driver in the sierra folder. I used miniGL 1.47 which is optimized for k6-2. FPS around 60 mostly, one map 30-40 only. But quite stable and smooth. Before it was weird, fluctuating a lot between 25 and 75 on the same map. If I moved one step it got bad, one step back fine again. But now it’s always fine. I also downgraded from driver 1.0.0.7 to 1.0.0.4, maybe has also helped a little bit. But now I get an error message on windows startup and the voodoo tray icon is gone. Maybe needs a clean win 98 reinstall.

The only problem I still have is that when playing online the movement is sometimes laggy. I run in one direction and when I turn the game is lagging and still moves me in the old direction for a second. Not sure if the Realtek pci 8029 network card is the problem. Might switch to 3com 905.

16MB Rage and Voodoo2 would be a nice Setup. Most Pentium II 233 have open Multi. So you can underclock your CPU to 133Mhz for DOS Games.

Radeon 9600Pro was a good Deal back than.

This Engine has another Engine Block for smaller Polo Transmission. So its easier to swap cam's to the Golf 77KW Engine an adjust fuel pressure. And you have the ability to swap a TDI Air Box wich improves low to mid torque a lot.

@@adambuchta8755 Stock injectors were good enough. I used a fuel pressure Regulator (hope that's the right words) from a BMW M50B20 Engine at First. But changed later to a Bosch 4Bar with better results. Sadly i haven't recorded the difference yet. But this Engine will be swaped in another MK4 Chassis soon.

@@adambuchta8755 VR6 should Work. 1.8t i don't know. My g60 works with pressure and not with Vakuum so i can't tell you if 1.8t will do it.

Of course! A 75w PCIe Graphics Card without Power connector could harm your PCI Slot. Very important advise from you. ✌️

@@blastfromthepast3073 But I've also run a GTX 750 Ti and GT 640. So far, no problems. I also have a system with a Radeon R7 250 and 2 GB, and it works perfectly. I haven't noticed any power problems yet.

@@blastfromthepast3073He had his moments. In truth, he appreciated the work I'd done AND that I'd basically engineered his ability to join all us hardcore PC gamers at our LANS. He also had a lot of money (ill gotten gains, if you get my meaning). To me, it was massive cos no way I'd ever have afforded a £340 GPU back then. To him, it was small beans.

Sweet Times! Voodoo3 was the best Option for UT with best visuals. The GeForce 6200 was cheap with good Performance. A good choice to replace GeForce 2 and older. Best Option for PCs without AGP.

@@blastfromthepast3073 GeForce 6200 was kinda miracle, it outperformed FX 5900 in Shader 2.0 games and was unlockable into GeForce 6600 (128 bit bus model). And all of this, under 100$ price. Later nVidia made locked chip on 64 bit bus and also called GeForce 6200, when it basically should be GeForce 6100.
