- Check out great deals on the Korg SQ-1 Step Sequencer at Nova Musik: www.novamusik.com/ssearch/?q=k...
Housed in a compact metal enclosure and powerable via USB or batteries, Korg SQ-1 is a sequencing powerhouse capable of connecting to your gear not only over MIDI or USB but also via two sets of CV/gate outputs. It even has dedicated ports for volca- and monotribe-style sync and for connecting to the Korg littleBits Synth Kit.
SQ-1's CV/gate outputs can be set to different voltage scales and standards, including 1V, 2V, 5V and 8V (Hz/V). The behavior for the knobs controlling each step's value can be linear or constrained/quantized to minor, major or chromatic scales.
SQ-1 is available both standalone and bundled with the limited edition Korg MS-20 Module Kit. - Hudba
very nice and informative. you guys hit on all the really nice features of this instrument!
why the hell is note-lenth called duty?!
I wish he would have used a melodic example, this example just sounded horrible to me and doesn't really inspire me to buy one (even though I just did lol)
The SQ-1 really saved my b*t on a new gig (first time using a (bass)synth instead of only bass guitar), because it does work beautifully with my Arturia Microbrute synth.
As a first time naïve synth player, I got myself a Arturia Beatstep sequencer first, seeing al great flicks on CZcams.... Well there was no easy way to get 'The French Connection' work (cv voltage issues...).
Then, days before the actual gig, I found out about the sturdy Korg SQ-1! It saved the day (and the gig!)!
Great little metal analog sequencing fellow!!
Holy Shit!!! It's Kenny F&^KIN Powers!!!
Hahahaha
could I plug the SQ1 with midi to a korg Taktile to sequence and loop stuff from the Taktile?
do you recommend this sequencer for Vermona drm?
Is there any ways to adjust tempo in BPM? or a tap tempo at least? that led does not help at all to synchronize machines' tempo together
Hi, my SQ1's maximum tempo is nowhere near as fast as I've seen in some videos. Any idea why this might be? Thanks
Hi there, i was wondering if you could give me some help. I'm rather new to the the sequencing world and at times all the information can be mind boggling. I have a Nord Drum 2 virtual synth at home, and i'm looking to get a step sequencer for it. Would this be compatible via MIDI? Or should i be looking at something else. Thanks in advance
could i connect this to my nord lead 4 rack ?
yup
How would I connect this to my MS20 mini and how would it behave with it?
Mau Vindas It'll work great with your MS-20 mini. If all you want to do is send it notes you could just connect it via MIDI, but if you'd like to use SQ-1's other bus to modulate other parameters on the MS-20 mini (e.g., filter cutoff) then you'll probably want to use the CV/gate outputs with the mini's patch panel.
Just keep in mind that only the MS-20 module shown in the video supports the volts per octave CV scaling standard that Rich uses to demonstrate it. If you connect SQ-1 to your MS-20 mini via CV/gate you'll want to set SQ-1 to use the MS-20's native Hz/V scaling instead.
Nova Musik Thank you!
any basic music pc daw software can do this
useless crap tech
