Perth Mint Silver Bars and Rare Swans

- Perth Mint of Western Australia produced some wonderful silver bars over the years. The silver bar shown in this video is discontinued and now hunted by silver collectors. In this video, I talk about different portrait varieties of 20 ounce and 10 ounce silver bars made by Perth.

I love these! Some of my favorites! I have a 10 ounce and a kilo but having a hell of a time finding a 20 or a five.
Right on my friend! I see the 10 ounce Perth bars here or there but almost never the 20 ounce bars.

Perth has some other stamps they used on older bars, so they did not always use this Swan version. Thank you for checking out the bar good sir!
Speaking of swans, I once has a chrome swan hood ornament that had red plastic wings that lit up. I drove a 76 Oldsmobile Toronado at that time. 2" white walls on the tires. Fuzzy dice, fuzzy steering wheel cover and red lights up under the dashboard which would light up my red carpet floor. My friends said I was the blackest white dude they new. Oh yeah, I had curb feelers too. I lived in the projects for a couple years. I think it rubbed off on me. I still love disco music and roller skating. 😅

Just picked up 2 libertads at 32 each. Finally finishing up my Kookaburras on the cheap & a unicorn at 75+ship. I've seen Unicorns go for as much as 120

@@SilverStruck Nope not the Tudor the original Queens Beast, just a good deal because they go for at least 120 they're becoming elusive to find. The gold ones are nice too. I may need to pick that up from you soon 😜
I have been waiting for a dip to pickup another 20oz bar. Its a sweet size! Nice pickups.
PM's have remained up there in value. It will be interesting if they stay at this level as the new norm. Guess we will see what happens. Hey PT is worth more than Palladium today!

While I've never been a big fan of Perth Mint coins, I have to admit these older bars are very cool. It's always nice to know that with collectibles of any size, you not only have the collectible value, but you always have that bulk metal value to fall back on, should collectible value somehow lessen or evaporate entirely. Anyway, nice bar! Keep stacking!
I'm not big into Perth silver but I do have some items from them. It's hard to stack it all, so I try and stick with certain types of silver. Sometimes, I will stray in a different direction if I find a good deal or something neat. Your right on about the silver value backstop, very important!
Cool bar never have seen them.
Th 20 ounce Perth bars are harder to find but I run across the 10 ounce ones from time to time

G'day Silver Struck, great video and information sharing on some special Perth Mint silver bars, it always reminds me of the several Perth Mint silver bars I purchased some 45 years ago, unfortunately I was not well informed back then and I only held them for 12 months before I sold them at a slight loss, if only I had my time over again 🤣 anyway over the past few years I have renewed my interest in numismatics and collecting silver coins, rounds and bars that interest me from various sovereign & private Mints here and abroad, including a fascination with items like Sunshine Mining rounds which I have noticed are becoming increasingly popular, even SSS has recently started to put a set together 😂 I always enjoy your videos featuring your collection of these rounds and bars and everything else you showcase on your channel, always well researched and informative, keep up the great work. You do the hard work SS preparing and researching your videos, the least I can do is hopefully provide a comment worthy of your presentation, as for the Perth Mint bars one part of me wishes I could remember but luckily I can't, other than I had 6 1kilo bars, 4 from the Perth Mint and 2 from private refineries here in Melbourne embossed with the the bullion dealers logo I purchased them all from, the Bullion Dealer eventually went out of business, I suspect that if I could remember, I would be even more disappointed I still don't have them today, as I am sure they would all have vintage and collectable value 🤔😩😊Cheers Peter J 🤣👍

The Perth Mint adopted the right-facing swan in 2010 and discontinued the left-facing swan the same year. The 20oz bar was apparently discontinued in 2011,

Hard to find ,vintage, swan bullion had one a month ago i should have grabbed it
They are harder to find but not as rare as some older poured Perth Mint bars. Perth made some really cool bars in the past👍😊

I just found the Pamp Guru thanks to Fish. He recently had a video on the 2023 lunar rabbit showing a normal and error bar.

I love that bar...but I am going to go with the biscuits...Think of the value in knowing no matter what, you will not starve to death!! That should be worth one silver bar!
Never saw the Perth Mint logo on a bar
I don't find many Perth Mint bars around here. The 10 ouncers from time to time but not 20 ounce Perth.

I have 6 of these 10 oz bars, all right facing.
Right facing is new/current logo, left facing is the old logo.
Are you sure that the mintage is under 100?
The mintage is posted by All Engelhard at 100. How accurate that is, I could not say. Typically- the information on AE is pretty close to what collectors see for availability, I've noticed. For collectors of Perth Mint bars- your sitting on a nice group of bars that are more on the rare side, imo.

I could use some advice from the community. Having a hard time deciding which I should stack assuming they all are the same price: 1/2 oz gold, 1 oz platinum or palladium, or 1 kilo of silver?
I like Platinum right now, I believe PT has room to move higher. Normally I would recommend gold or silver but gold is at an all time high everyday, so I'm holding back myself right now. Purchasing dips and pull backs is what I like to wait for.
@@SilverStruck super good point. Platinum scares me a little bit gold is just an awful price, even if GSR is down to like 1:76.
