Nice work on the GTS rear disc setup. We just got a Matrix XRS in at one of the yards here, I think I may go for it and get the rear setup + parking brake cables, as they are also interchangeable (not the cables). I'm looking to buy a Matrix XR for a daily driver because ever since I noticed you used yours a lot, I started to think more about the practicality they offer. And that'd be another project I'd have parts on hand for.
The Matrix is more practical than the corolla, more space and same gas MPG. I find myself using my dads Matrix more than my Corolla for these junk yard runs
Man, I cannot imagine finding a 7th gen at a junkyard, let alone a gem like that dude. I shelled out $1,300 for a carbonfiber TRD spoiler just because I wanted something nice and didn't want the hassle or cost of having it sanded/painted. I went through ALL THAT just because mine is a 01' GT-S base model. I'm sure you came out much better lol. Great find.
Sad so sad to see Celicas in the junkyard. Toyota doesn't make them anymore. But happy you got to get some parts that other Celica owners will appreciate. Hopefully, this new generation of Celica owners will take care of the remaining Celicas on the road better than the previous generations.
I can't say I can't stand to see these Toyota cars or any cars go to waste it really hurts me I'm not going to lie it doesn't matter what kind of car it is if it's just trashed on the road or like ends up in a junkyard after learning on how to work on cars you just look at cars completely different than all this is preventable and they will last forever if you actually just take care of them
Nice score indeed! One thing I've learned is you gotta grab the stuff while its there if you can afford it. I regret not getting so many dsm parts its not even funny, now its a rare day my local yards have dsms in them and like you guys prices are way higher then they used to be.
Man I was thinking of going to the Stockton pick n pull, the matrix I bought is missing the plastic cover covering the defrost and wiper blade on the inside of the hatch. Good idea to just take it off of one at the pick n pull ya?
That junkyard in California a lot of people go there to poor parts first come first serveWhen the guys put the Toyota Celica in the junkyard they should’ve been very careful with that vehicle for hair size skirts people gonna want to pool parts ASAP
🚨 @2zzlow Sebas, I need your advise/help! Is it ok to support/jack the 2zzge by the oil pan for doing passenger and driver side engine mount swaps? I am worried they will dent/bend. Where and how should I do it? It looks like you used the oil and transmission pans before based on past videos. Any advice would be appreciated! I’ll do more donos next time you live stream. 💪
I’ve used the oil pans as lift point before but I don’t recommend it. Put a piece of wood block and then you can lift from it just to remove and install motor mounts,
bro that line looked so chill. I was at a junk yard in westplam fl you have to make the line just to park the car in the junk yards parking lot. lol edit ; btw i got charged $189 just for 5 honda pilot transmission switches and 2 plugs. I couldn't believe it, i ended up just taking the switches i needed in hopes they work .
Also my local u pull and pay now has a special row 1 that all cars in that row parts are double the price and it's fenced off and can only enter through the office.
We used to have a “premier” yard where prices were almost doubled and they claimed “harder to find” vehicles and a double admission fee of $4, that was quickly axed and they simply raised the pieces on all yard -_-
@@2zzlowI helped set up the premier yard in Stockton years ago for the grand opening. I remember setting some nice cars for the grand opening. The prices were crazy!
I would much rather daily drive a Matrix over a Celica just because of the available space but obviously the Celica will look nicer at the end of the day

at the rate I see them at the junk yard its hard to believe they are taken care of and preserved.

Went there 3days after they posted it and saw the wing was gone

for a Tuesday morning that line was uncalled for lol weekend lines are twice as long.

@@2zzlow it's ridiculous, at those prices I can buy brand new. We come to the junk yard for cheap parts that we have to pull off the vehicle.

Hi! I’m from LA and going to the meet how much for the rear valance?
whole kit was sold last night sorry
How do you like the Matrix XRS compared to Celica GTS?
I would much rather daily drive a Matrix over a Celica just because of the available space but obviously the Celica will look nicer at the end of the day
@@2zzlow What about handling and acceleration between the two? I'd imagine the Celica would feel more sporty
Score!
Fuck yea!
