Hope you get to cover more of London's 680 square miles next time! As a 13 year Londoner I like Hampstead Heath and village. Just outside central London but home to the rich and famous. Camden that's nearby is quirky. St Johns Wood for Abbey Road Studios. Greenwich to see where time started and the international time line. Shoreditch and Brick Lane for hip culture and lots of curry houses and finally the City of London (also known as the square mile) governed by a different mayor and police force to the other 679 square miles of London. This was the heart of financial power for centuries of the UK. Go and have a tea or coffee at dick and waffle on the 40th floor for great views of the city if you are ok with heights!!
Btw London is drier than New York, Paris or Rome! The North West UK gets many times more rain.
Oh and please don't do the v sign with your palm facing you, like you did in the taxi as that's the equivalent of giving someone the finger or bird in the US.
Sorry lastly hope you figured out it's not worth changing hotels in central London as public transport is frequent (tubes run every 1-3 minutes) and can get you to anywhere in central London.

Thanks for the great tips! You really know your way around the city. I’m sure we could spend many months here & still discover new things.

Big Ben is the Bell in the Elizabeth Tower (formerly St. Stephens Tower). Most visitors think that the Tower is Big Ben. Few people have seen Big Ben apart from the caretaker and maintenance crews.

Oh interesting! I wonder why that isn’t advertised better. I would have never known.

Elizabeth Tower was formerly Clock Tower.
St. Stephens Tower has not changed it's name. It is positioned in the middle of the West front. Between Westminster Hall and Old Palace Yard. It contains the public entrance to the Houses of Parliament. Called St. Stephen's Entrance.

0:57 The two fingured gesture is, err, a bit rude.
Just so long as you're using it in a post-modern ironic way and amongst friends, all should be well.
    Probably. 🙂

Yes, I don't think people realise that sticking two fingers up with the back of the hand facing forward is akin to showing the middle finger here in the UK!

Wow, I just googled this. I had no idea as it definitely does not mean anything from where we are from. I think you need to consider intention as well. Thanks for letting us know. 😊

@@nurseonthemoney8184well no....maybe don't make gestures you don't uñderstand the meanings of?in some places in Europe you could get into a lot of trouble making what to you, are innocent gestures, but are plain obscene to the natives.

I don't think you mentioned where you stayed? Both places looked interesting - would you recommend? One note - it is hard to hear the female (sorry I don't think you introduced yourself) and the music in the background could be cut out. I'm going to check out your previous videos, and I'd like to see more of your travels, so I will subscribe.

???? I'm so confused, I'm from Melbourne, AUS. London is regarded as a Top 5 city, by most standards.
I worked/lived in the US for over 5 years - NYC, Atlanta and LA. (Also, Singapore, Berlin, Paris, Madrid and Shangai)
Visited many more.. London is LONDON.. what are you on about??!! People dream of going. I am so confused!!!
London and Bristol, in the UK were a league above any city I lived/visited in the US.. I gather this is the 1st stop in your world tour??
Ps. Not being mean spirited.. but I left my hometown to see the world, the UK and specifically London, was on my MUST DO! I just found it strange that you thought it was an unpopular opinion?? So strange.

This is an interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing. My point in this video is that that there is loads of hype around traveling to London because it is LONDON but that the hype is justified. With major travel destinations like this I feel there is always the question “is it worth the hype?” & I was pleasantly surprised that it definitely is. Hope this explains my perspective better.

New York is the most over hyped city I have ever had the misfortune to visit. It got better once out of Manhattan where there are normal people

London in 3 days is impossible, in 1 day is laughable, in a week with zero depth is just possible, in a lifetime is doable.

Speak British, what is that? Britain is 3 countries and the UK is 4 countries.

    • @nurseonthemoney8184

It is often referred to as British English as compared to American English. That is what I mean, just said poorly 🙃
