I was a huge fan of Nightwish back in the day. Got into them after seeing the video to Nemo on MTV. Saw them in London at the real height of that lineups success. I fell out of love with them after Tarja was 'removed'. Anette Olzon and Floor Jansen are both great vocalists, but it just never seemed the same. This is the closest it's ever come to the way it once was.
I think there is somebody in the fan audience to do that shout in the intro. So nice to see them to do songs together ... almost like in 2005. They look like happy too.

Tarja and Marco are so good together been a long time in the making to me tarja voice just gets better and better her solo work is amazing and Marco is Marco also taraj always has amazing musicians with her I think the magic moment was when Marco walked on stage and the love between them at the end have a great day nina and thanks for another great review 🎸🎸🎙️🎼

Tarja and Marko actually sang together and fixed their relationships earlier in 2017.
I saw Tarja and Marko perform this song live in Finland few days ago and what can I say.... it was magical❤ both of them are so good.
I think this is the most recent that you have heard Tarja sing? I mean all the others were from when she was still in Nightwish. So there is almost 20 years gap. And you must hear how much Tarja's voice is evolved. Now she has also more depth to her voice.

Yeah, I was in Savonlinna too and I got tears in my eyes when they sang together. Whole night was soo amazing and I can't wait to see especially Tarja again, she is stunning and imo better than ever ❤️
I feel like that Brazilian in the audience when it comes to Nightwish lol. I met Tarja early this year, I had a VIP Meet & Greet ticket. I asked her about singing. She told me it has got easier overtime with low and high notes. Also, she told me her guilty musical pleasure, it is Lady GaGa. I thought to share that little secret. I was at the front and recorded some of her songs which you can see on my channel.
Nightwish are out of this world. I am impressed how the ex-vocalists Tarja and Anette Olzon have released some good albums.

This was filmed in Switzerland if it was from July 08th. So could be German, Swiss , French if native. If he traveled to see them from elsewhere? If Brazilian it is Portuguese. And it was the 1st time in 18 years they sang this song together. They have been on stage twice before together since 2017. Heard they also were on stage last night in a castle in Finland.
It's defintely not German. Sounds Brazilian Portoguese to me.

'Ello. I'm so glad that I've a document of musical artists I saw live. Turns out I did see Nightwish perform twice at Lowlands music festival, in the Netherlands. But that was year ago.
On the other hand, this means that I've seen Tarja (and Marco) live irl. Nightwish when it was still very much a Finnish band.
Technically he is known as Marco Hietala, but he was born Marko Hietala. You can also here that Tarja is called 'Taria' if you wil. What's the difference between i and j again, ey?
In a larger sense, musical theatre and the theatrical form of rock that many call 'metal' are very linked. Even lyricly those songs are often like 'musicals'.
Just for curiosity: the guy who filmed this is Brazilian, so he is shouting in Portuguese 😂

From the body language, it doesn't look like an entirely natural/comfortable reunion. Marko said in an interview that he had been surprised to learn that they had been booked on the same gig and that he expected there would be pressure for them to perform together.
Yeah, it could be but they did perform together already in 2017.
Now they did this song few days ago again in Savonlinna. And there they definitely looked very comfortable with each other.
Tarja lives in Spain, Marco spend there also a lot of time and they are friends since years...Marco said in an interview. And this concert, they both together on this one, was advertised month ago.
Oh about the name Tarja... 9:25 In Dutch it sounds very much like Marco said. But you can still here the j instead of the i. As I said: what's the difference between i and j? It's subtle: ia and ja are almost the same. Or ia and ya in English, I suppose. Mario, Marjo, Maryo. Pretty much the same. Also: yeet, yeet... Hietala. Hie in Finnish = yee in English or jie in Dutch.
The reason why I am so attuned to this... Is not because I'm a linguist or something...
It all stems from that I simply love sound. Vowels and consonents are sounds. So is music. I just ♥sound. Does that make sense?
It wasn't perfect singing wise, but still very good, but it was moving. The performance from Finland Olavinlinna Castle, where Fantom of the Opera sang a few days ago, was much better in terms of singing. They were no longer under the influence of emotions and were much more relaxed

The biggest difference between Floor and Tarja is: Tarja sounds incredible regardless of the production quality of the performance, Floor only excels when they're producing a DVD and the production is through the roof. If you watch a random Nightwish consert from 2022 or whatever Floor really doesnt sound that good. She got her fame from the DVD version everyone is reacting to.

Every artist has some performances better than others
I know Marco is much older than the rest of the Nightwish members, but he doesn't look well to me. I hate to say that, but I noticed it when I first watched this video and I noticed it again in this reaction...
He isn't well, he has been on anti-depressants for over a decade...
He has scaled back on touring & performing (and quit Nightwish) precisely because he ISN'T well, which he keeps saying in the interviews so people don't expect more of him than he can give right now. Performing takes a lot of work and rehearsing etc. and even then it's not always enough.
btw. Right now he's 57, Tarja is 45, Floor is 42.

It's fun and nostalgic, but sounded horrible imho. Heck, Nina herself sings 10x better than this. Will always be a fan of Marko's voice though. Nightwish with Floor for me please 🤗

sorry, but it doesn't make me cold or hot. They try but they can't bridge 18 years. The sound is not good, but does not like their voices.
What a train wreck...not the reaction...but the performance...I get this is nostalgic for some people, but embarrassing how bad it was honestly...
It’s not bad at all. It just isn’t as good as the original. But, it’s damn good for a cell phone video.

Marko hasn't sung this since 2005...
Also live touring is not exactly easy on the voice.
It's easy for us to listen only the best shows /performances and think that is the norm.
This isn't bad at all actually. Obviously not as good as they are capable doing with some rehearsals & a studio, but it's good for what it is:

@@AlvenmodFoto They’re not singing bad at all. I’ve seen cell phone footage of many Floor/Henk versions, and this is miles above any of those. This obviously wasn’t rehearsed at all. It wasn’t meant to be taken so seriously. Honestly, it was most likely forced upon them from the tour promoters. I think Marko mentioned it in an interview. I’m not saying they don’t like each other, it’s just a money grab for promoters. I’m still glad they did it anyway.
@@AlvenmodFoto On the contrary , it's a very good performance. Did you expect DVD quality, well balanced sound on fan cam video, especially in the Open air concert? Yes, first lines of Marko were a bit smaller volume , but sound technicians quickly turned on the sound and everything went surprisingly well for an unrehearsed show.

wondered why this opening riff sounded so cool and mysterious. Conscious or not this is an absolute rip off of the motif in pink floyd "echos" from 1971.
