    One day I wanted to read some book about an amateur triathlete. I wanted to understand how they are able to train and manage their work. Then I understand that I probably will never find one because amateur athletes probably do not have time to write a book🤣

    Use lunch to break away from work, I try and get strength and mobility sessions into lunch breaks, just block out lunch breaks you want to train in the calendar. Good video and Tim is a legend 👌🏼

    5:14 is that Kingsmeadow athletics track? I use sometimes, but, again, as an amateur, usually only when its dark already 😀

    So biggest thing from this is sleep. Which is my weakness not a great sleeper, can't seem to turn off the mind to sleep

    As a professional athlete as well, I feel we are opposites of amateurs; Where I’m always scrambling and trying fit in family time or personal time to fit in with my training, the amateurs are trying to figure out hiw to squeeze in training in order to fit in with their job and family. LoL

    I AM an amateur, i wake up at 4.45, 2 hrs training, then go at work at 8.45. launch break Is 1.15 hr swim, evening Gym/run depending in the fasigue. Every single day. Nothing special in a training day of a pro, they can rest while I am at work..thats what makes.the difference, my 5 hr sleep vs their 8/9

    Is it really bad to train fasted?

    • @jennyt2732
      @jennyt2732 Před rokem

      Of course not. Why would it be? You have fat reserves for a reason. Even the lowest body fat among us have ample reserves. Every time you eat, especially carbs and sugar such as gels, you spike your insulin. That leads to insulin resistance and ultimately diabetes. Insulin is the hormone to store fat. You cannot store fat and burn fat at the same time. Being fat adapted is the same as being insulin sensitive. You can exercise all you like, but you can't exercise your liver - look up Dr Jason Fung. I always train fasted, 16-20 hours, everything from speed work to long runs.
      Think about the hunter gatherer. Did they stuff their faces with gels every half an hour? You are designed to burn fat.

      Yeah, saying never training fasted is a bit much. But should just be easy aerobic workouts that are shorter

      @joneaton3366 Před rokem

      Yes for a hard session no for an easy zone 1/2 workout

    • @emmanuelnocete135
      @emmanuelnocete135 Před rokem

      I do my short easy runs/bikes/swims fasted, for longer bouts I'd consider taking a bit depending on which is it (more for a run less for bike and swim) and for any intensity always fuel up, better quality and better performance.
