  • Discover the zaZen and Delos isolation bases from IsoAcoustics. The IsoAcoustics isolation bases allow more people to experience the difference that great isolation can make at a much lower price point than ever before. Choosing the right base for your component comes down to matching the weight of your component to the appropriate base and in this video, we will tell you how to do just that! We will also discuss the differences between the different bases as well as how they performed during our listening tests. If you want to take a deeper dive into how isolation works and the difference that proper isolation can make, click the link below to read our full article where we get much more in-depth into how it works and why it is important. Also, be sure to watch our video on the various lineups of IsoAcoustics isolation feet which is also linked below.

    Not for me. I don't think I'd hear the difference between this and a normal table. Especially putting an amp on it

    Waiting for mine to arrive, along with the isopods. I have been aware of the need for component isolation since the late 1980s, when the first isolation feet, the Mod Squad Tip Toes debuted and were a sensation. I had a then upper- level High End turntable and the manufacturer had a dedicated platform for it (but the platform, too, cost a ton of money). But we learned back then that the only good vibration was a dead vibration! After that, isolation devices exploded in the High End market: Townshend Seismic Sinks, The Vibraplane platform and others. And...they work! But the cost...!!!
    More recently, Stillpoints and then the Townshend Seismic platforms (still expensive!!) have been the supports of choice for my tube integrated amp, turntable and CD player. I want something reasonably priced, just to see if it's out there. And I'm stoked that there might actually be something less expensive (well, less expensive than the Townshend platform, which retails for $1,000) out there that I can recommend to friends who don't have deep pockets (hey, I don't have "deep pockets" anymore, either!), but still want great, EFFECTIVE, vibration suppression (even small vibrations blur the fine details in music reproduction, such as a solo guitarist plucking nylon strings, or hearing a trumpeter drawing in a breath before blowing again) . And if it outperforms the Stillpoints Ultra and Townshends, I'm over the moon!!! Can't wait!!!!

      Thanks for sharing. Do you remember the Goldmund version of the Tiptoes that cost a fortune? We sold a ton of Tiptoes when they came out. You should enjoy the ZaZen. It’s the real deal.

    I don’t think any of these would work. My table is about 22” wide and 17 3/4 deep. And about 100 lbs. any suggestions would be great

    how do measure how effecitv this is, and more IS it effectiv? 90% of most things are myth and not measureable.

      Iso Acoustics is really big on measurements and does most of their testing at the NRC. You can find many white papers on their mfg site.

    do these work with bt turntables that play audio via bt?

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  Před 2 lety

      The idea of these isolation bases is to reduce problems caused by airborne vibrations. If you were using bluetooth headphones, you would not hear any difference, but if you were streaming bluetooth to your stereo system and had larger speakers in the same room as the turntable, yes, you should hear an improvement. Please stop using kitchen chopping boards as re-branded turntable isolation platforms. Keep them in the kitchen.

      You might find this an interesting read, there is far more to these than a piece of wood isoacoustics.com/isoacoustics-testing-at-the-national-research-council-of-canada-nrc/

      @@AudioAdvice Thanks, I am well aware. I built in the end my own platform with special vibration de-coupling feet based on ceramic beads. I also do not refer to the feet here, but some of the boards boards. Most boards are well made and fit for purpose. My comment was pointed towards those which are clearly made as chopping boards, doubling as a base of a hifi isolation platforms.

    I would love to see the science of ANY amount of "upgrade" to putting an amp or component on a dampening piece of wood.. At least with a turntable, I understand the logic. Putting a streaming device or amp on it seems.......silly at best

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  Před 9 měsíci

      There is actually all science behind it. Here is an article on their testing at the NRC. We agree the difference is smaller on electronics, but it can be audible at higher volume levels. Thanks for watching
