- Gold jewelry is an expensive trend that's for sure! đȘ So I hope I explained the difference between the different types of gold jewelry well enough so you can have a basic understanding when you're shopping. I'm sure I probably missed some things but like with anything, please do your research before you buy. My biggest tip is to not fall for marketing and waste your money! Read product descriptions, learn more about the company, find out where materials are sourced - that extra effort goes a long way. And most importantly, you deserve to get yourself something nice. âșïž Please feel free to share what's in your collection in the comments. I'd love to hear about it! Anyway, love ya as always and sending ya good vibes! đ

I got an 18k gold filled Cuban link chain. Worth the price because 5 years later it looks great! Never had any problems with it. Rain, snow, dry weather. Iâd recommend cleaning it 2-4 times a year. I also put beard oil on my chain after cleaning and wipe off the excess.
This information is GOLD. Thanks for making it xx
I am have got lots of 22k gold jewellery ( bought them before my wedding). Currently, I have 3 gold diamond rings , pendants, bracelets , bangles. I do my household chores 24/7. It's been almost 7 years & they still look so beautiful and sparkly when I clean them đ ! I think buying 22k gold is a great investment if you can buy ! And if you sell them off , they will give you a good sum of money đ°
Glad to see the honest review of Mejuri - they seem way overpriced for plated items, yet all the paid influencers seem to say the stuff never tarnishes (same for Ana Luisa etc)!
Also - 9k gold (37.5%) is the most common here in the UK
I agree. Mejuri seems overpriced for what it is. However, they do rep themselves as an ethical brand, which is great if that is true. A lot of the people i see that love Mejuri also have affiliate codes from them, so it is hard to find a 100% honest review on the quality and value of what you actually get. Most of their jewelery is not solid gold and the pieces are hollow. For comparison a solid gold dime-sized pendant on Mejuri is around $450, whilst on other sites, it is no more than $350 for an even larger pendant in solid gold
Iâve worked with mejuri and none of my items from them tarnish!
Gold Vermeilâs base is actually sterling silver so even if the gold layer comes off the silver will still last you
Wow great video! Love the editing and pace, you did a great jobđ
What a lovely video and channel! This was exactly the content I was looking for. Thanks so much â€ïž
Thank you so much for making this! Super helpful and informative! â€ïž
this was super helpful! thanksâșïž
I love your video, especially the way you explain things! I just subscribed to you rn.
Just to add a little more info for people who are just starting, you can also get 18K gold jewelries (even 21/22k) for a slightly lower price when you get it per gram. :) and yes, the resale value is way higher!!
Thank you for super informative video .Being an Asian, gold jewelry has always been the go to jewelry for me and from my personal experience. 22 K is good for everyday use, 24 K is purest but is quite delicate .
Thank you for clearing this up, I was so confused đ Iâm glad that I waited before investing in vermeil: thanks to you itâs become obvious itâs not what Iâm after!
SO well explained! đ
"aha i don't trust nobody" lmaooo. anyway thanks for the helpful info! you're so thorough!
Catbird is good for real gold but the items are pretty dainty so youâre not getting a lot for the money, but it is quality. I wear my necklaces and rings 24/7 except for when I clean them, and they definitely hold up.
This is super helpful and informative! Thank you! â€ïž
omg! I appreciate it! âșïž
Youâre such a great teacher!!
Thank you so much for this video! Just found it. Was super useful â€
Great explanation of the types of gold very helpful
24k is alot more durable than people think. I have three 24k chains and have worn one for over 3 years now 24/7 with very little to no noticeable wear. My wedding band is made out of a 22k American Gold Eagle and is also very durable. American jewelry stores sell 10k and 14k because they make more money selling those than they would 22k or 24k. They lie to you and say 22k+ gold is too soft but thats just not true.
I've heard 24k is hard to work with and thats why they avoid it, but it also makes sense that they make less money from 24k
@@b-b8704 I've never heard about it being hard to work with. I think for the long term though 22k would probably be the better choice. You still have high purity gold but adding that 8% copper & silver alloy really strengthens the chain. I'll probably buy a new chain this summer and either get a 60 gram 24K chain or a similar weight 22K chain if I can find one at a fair price.
I agree, I have a 24k pendant and I wear it everyday. So far, it still looks great
I know for sure 24k is soft I owned few. I wear 24k Asian gold so I am sure if that is any different then your gold.
How do you guys feel about 18k? Do you think an 18k gold chain with a pendant will be good for everyday use in the long run?
I'm just starting my fine jewlery collection now. Slowly building it up
Thank you for all the information which you shared. It was very helpful. Have a great day!
This was super helpful!
Excellent video, very helpful. Thank you!
Great video. Very informative. Thanks for the details. đ
This was a very informative video thank you!
This was very helpful! Thank you very much â

I'm so happy that you like it! âșïž
Great stuff!!
9ct looks great, its very hard wearing. I feel I should sing 9ct gold praises for all the low wage workers, carers, warehouse, etc.
Very informative, please consider making a video about white gold, rose gold and other types of gold we can find on the market
Thanks for the info. Will definitely check out Skin studio because that necklace you showed was so beautiful. Which one is it?
so helpful!! thank u đ

Thank you for this video!!đâšđŠ
How informative! đ„°
I daily a 24K chain. I love the subtle yet rich color
Does anyone know if you can have a gold plated bracelet âgold filledâ when it tarnishes ?
Can you answer if a good gold filled necklace can be worn out in how much time, means how many months or years? Plz reply as I'm about to be married nd I need to know
Great info thanks đ
How to buy menâs bracelet at the right price? the bracelet Iâm looking at is a box 14k bracelet ?
is ana louisa 14k gold jewelry worth it?
đ€Ł âidk science happensâ đ đ
this was super helpful!! i has a question if you could do one on menâs jewelry
Maybe! Iâll think about it as I plan out my videos this year. đ€
I recently ordered a custom gold plated 925 silver dragon chain for a little under two grand. A sold gold version would have had a six figure price tag and so I am still satisfied with my purchase.
925 is only silver
@@burberryclaretred6676 read, they said gold plated 925 silver, so gold on top of silver.
Thank you so much. I like gold jewelry. I am thinking about where to buy gold jewelry. I found your video. Thank you so much. Learning from you about gold experience and shop. Please make more videos about Best gold shop. It's hard to find, not easy, like very this or drop pearl so many problems. Thank you. Love your video
100th subscriber yay!
Iâm so happy! Thank youuu đ€
Her face got so bright in the 24k section >u
Thank You
Please do an instagram review on popular small business jewelry such as modandjo, vitaly, ellie vail, or like any jewelry ad you scroll through first? :D loved your informational video!
My first piece was a heavy rounded box bracelet in24K. after having 24 karat youâll never wanna go back to anything else
Thanks. Helped a lot. Is gold rare? Can you just go out to the shops and buy gold?
And 10k ?
Love your knowledge. Could you tell us when are the best times of year to buy gold on sale? New subscriber. đ
Great question
Hello How Can You Tell of each? Is there like a test I can do? Iâm planning to start a Jewelry Business and iâm still looking for a supplier from Alibaba... what kind of gold accessories do you recommend selling? What does it mean when a store says â18k Gold platingâ đ
how is your s-kin studio jewelry holding up?
Nice content. I am now also starting to build my jewelry collection and I have watched A LOT of videos. None where so informative as this was. I am just missing one piece of information and is the colour. Does it change from 14K to 18k? if so; is it very noticeable? Kind regards from a Spaniard in the Netherlands
Hey babe! Thank you so much for the feedback. I appreciate it lots!! â€ïž And yes, there is a difference in color! The less gold content you have, the less orangey gold toned it is. So 14k is more like a yellow gold color while 18k will be actually a warmer gold color.
Very interesting. I live in israel and gold filled has been popular here for over 10 years. It's everywhere and much cheaper here than online. Gold itself is cheaper than I see online too, and we commonly use 14k or 18k.
All you need to do for tarnished gold is just wipe them! They are just oxidized. Mine is shiny again after I wipes them â€
mejuri have a 2 year warranty so you could maybe return the earrings or get a replacement pair, could have been badly made, i know that their peices normally last a lot longer than 2 months
Its better to have one valuable piece of jewelry either 14k or 18k than buying gold plated, vermiel or gold filled....that's a waste.
Totally agree! Real gold will last a lifetime whilst gold plated will eventually wear off. Itâs worth the investment. Gold has good resale value and if you donât like the piece of jewelry anymore you can always take it to a jeweler and get a new piece created for you using/melting the gold from your old one.
Hello chicka. I hope you are keeping warm and stayin in good health. I just came across this vid just now. And I really want to thank you for takin the time outta your day to record and post this super informative video. I learned quite a bit from it. But was wonderin if maybe you might could do another vid like this but with silver maybe? I just never did like the way gold looks on me, it looks lovely on others tho. So I'm a silver fan. But I'm highly allergic to nickel and every kind of jewelry that says hypoallergenic or nickel- free. I'm still kinda hopeful that maybe there actually is some kind of belt buckle metal that won't make me look like I got small pox after wearing for 2 mins. Same with earrings and everything. Apparently sterling silver or surgical steel are the only kinds of jewelry that doesn't bother me one bit. Super tired of paracord braiding my own belts with plastic buckles. I CAN'T be the only one with these kinda metal issues. But you seem like prob the only person out there that can break down the understanding of what is made with what and how much of each content in each to where I can actually get it. If you aren't able to do a vid like that then no worries. No pressure. I'm so thankful to've come across this vid so that I can help the ones around me. I really appreciate you and I hope you have the best of Holidays!!
Awww, love! Iâm so thrilled to have your support and trust. I highly appreciate it. đ€ Iâm so sorry for your allergic reactions to different silvers. I think itâs so important to know what youâre buying and how it might react to you body. Let me do some research on silver jewelry and see what I can do in terms of a video. Sending you lots of love and happy holidays đ
@@paulinenguyen oh thank you so much! I really appreciate you.
She left 22k gold. Actually 24k isn't really suitable to make any jwellery as its too soft. I have seen my friend's ring flattened when she played handball. But 22k is used these days to make jwellery, although still not suitable to hold diamond.
Great video! White gold at 18K & 14K typically has rhodium plating with a mix of zinc and nickel.
Thank you for the additional information!
@@paulinenguyen No problem, your information was helpful as well. Many jewelers have different practices based on region/country or whatever. But this basic overview was awesome!
Aww I appreciate it! âșïž have a good day!
I perferred 18 and 24k Asian only. 14k to me the color looks too light and less value then 18 and 24k when resale. You can find 24k it's available in Asian jewelry stores. Most Asian only wear 18 and 24k because the of the gold. I brought some plated ones just for experience. Let see how long it last lol. However I do take care of it. I don't take shower with it nor in contact with faucet water. Will find out....lol
â„ïž
This was super informative!! Do you have any website recommendations for buying gold jewelry?
Aww Iâm glad this helps! It really depends on what you want out of your gold jewelry. Iâve shopped at Skin Studio jewelry for gold-filled pieces, Cendre and Nejim for 18k plated on sterling silver, and Missoma for chunky pieces. Definitely read the product description when shopping! âșïž
Have your s-kin studio jewlery tarnished? I want to buy some but I am scared it is not worth it
No, they havenât! I still love my dainty pieces!
New subscriber I only wear real gold ty so much for sharing!!!!
Thanks Pauline I needed that knowledge
how about 916 gold?
I really like this video Iâve watched it a few times already because it draws you in.
And Second hand jewelry is a way more of a budget friendly option just go to a jewelry store before you pay for it to make sure it is what the person is saying it is so you donât get ripped.
what does DGL mean on a chain? Itâs stamped
Could be the maker's own stamp :)

greAT VID.
donât forget your bling bling!!
I'll never forget my bling bling âš
18k is fine for daily wear if earrings or necklace where scratching and denting are less likely than on hands or feet.
White gold is mixed with palladium or platinum
Yup, also can be mixed with silver and nickel!
@@paulinenguyen You're right but if there's nickel in your jewelry shop somewhere else
Thank you for the additional info though! Anything helps âșïž
What about 10k
24k is so beautifulđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
I wear my 18k & 22k jewelry all the time. Dont let anybody tell you its too soft to wear.
You look good
Is Kayâs jewelry legit
Can gold filled jewellery last long if we shower in them?
Yes
In my country we only use 18k and 24k. 14k never
