- I took a 5 hour marshrutka from Kutaisi to Mestia in one of Georgia's most mountainous regions. I wanted to go not just for the scenery but to learn more about the unique indigenous Svan culture. This video is from my first two days there where I visit some of the famous svanetian towers. More to come from this beautiful region!

Amazing Nimi, what a stunning town. Those houses are so unusual, and the scenery...Like you said, everywhere you look the views are just incredible.
And the cows, just hanging around the streets.
And the ladders to get up the tower - yikes! Well worth it though.

Nice tour of those tower/houses... amazing structures from another age. Hope you are staying well and that getting soaked earlier didn't lead to feeling poorly/headcold afterwards.
I think I got lucky actually, I was a bit worried about catching a cold - that would be super inconvenient but I’m sure it’s gonna happen at some point 😂

Ahh yay well I hope you have a great time. You can get from batumi, it’s about 5/6hrs, Zugdidi (3hrs) or kutaisi (4-5hrs) 😊
