A Few Moments from our Weekend

- We were really grateful to have some dry weather this weekend so we could all get out together.
There’s still a lot of mud around and Pablo was able to find it all and have a dunk in the bone pool to wash it off before applying it all over again.
Barney and Bailey the Boxers had several tug of war contests.
The Pointer X puppies joined us and everyone was very accommodating most especially Barney and Bailey who were extra chilled letting the puppies literally walk all over them.
Shadow was out with us for the weekend. Her behaviour is improving day on day. She’s just so relaxed and happy which is just awesome to see. She also gave the doggies all a run for their money in the big paddock racing the bike. She sure showed the young GSDs and took the lead many a times.
All in all it was a lovely weekend with lots of great moments together. We hope you all had a lovely weekend too.
Seeing Shadow so free from her previous behaviors, worries and trauma is so beautiful to watch. ❤

Oh to be like Shadow.....to be able to shake off, forget or even forgive every past abuse or harsh word received..... to be able to live happy and free in the present moment.....what a world it would be. Beautiful Shadow.

I see the GSD girls have fully recovered. Watching them all run together was like watching wolves. Little Archie decided he was going to live in Luke's pocket for the weekend and Pablo looked like he was trying to lay his head on floating tennis balls. Th Pointer X pups are going to be such handsome dogs. They're already carrying themselves with a bit of elegance, they seem very gentle too. But the star was definitely Shadow. It's still so thrilling to see her able to be so relaxed and able to move freely through all those dogs with a big smile. Although so powerful, they really are such wonderful family dogs, loving and full of energy and fun. She looks so healthy and fit too, absolutely thriving in every way.
Wasn't it wonderful to see Shadow rolling in the grass and so relaxed. Brought a smile to this old dial I can say. She's come ahead in leaps and bounds for sure. She just needed the right people to show her how to be a happy, free dog.
Watching the GSDs gave me happy and awestruck thrills. So ancient.

Shadow has done the work and now reaps the rewards just as Freddo, Bobbie, YoYo and more. Amazing what loving kindness and the right training can do for dogs. DDCF is really heaven for dogs.

What a perfect weekend. Watching Shadow, you can't help but feel such love and pride for her. She will never look back. Her happiness is all over her face. While playing with the puppies she looked like a puppy herself. I always enjoy watching the kids makes me smile. They also are living their best life. A lifetime of the best memories as kids. So wonderful for Shadow. She is so happy. It is wonderful that she does not have the stress of having to always be on guard against other dogs and most probably bad people. Love all the puppies. They are going to be big. Just looking at their paws. And Archie the Dachshund is truly Luke’s little shadow for the weekend.
Wolf is growing so fast. He will be an additional Dad’s helper in no time. Thank you Luke and Sam for sharing.

Somewhere there is a children's book to be written about shadow and her life. Coming to the farm pregnant, sad, scared,behavior issues,etc then fast forward to now. Running free, loving her life, enjoying every minute of the family and pack. The book could be about overcoming adversity and with love and wonderful people who care, you can make it.

Shadow is a beautiful dog. She is beyond sweet and affectionate to the kids and puppies. It will be extremely hard to say goodbye. 💜🐾💜
Shadow is such a grass lover--any kind of grass--long or short. She loves the children.

Well, you just made my weekend better! So many lovely family moments. Archie looked like he was on vacation, just lounging around. Pablo took the dog version of a "bubble bath" with all those tennis balls! And Shadow, oh my, how glorious to see that happy face and that farm fit body hanging out with everyone! As usual, Elle, Evie, and Wolfric are just adorable...the picnic in the backyard, the big laughs on the swing, then the bunny pajamas...just precious! After the wonderful, relaxing, smile inducing videos of all the delightful antics of the doggies, the thing which always touches my heart deeply is seeing you Sam and Luke, with your family. You are so family oriented and in spite of all the work which it takes to run DDF and care for all your animals, visiting dogs, training rescue dogs and puppies galore, you make sure that you do special little things with your children every day and especially on weekends. You create all sorts of adventures as a family for them, walks, “boat races”, all sorts of play activities, picnics, going to the movies outdoors or indoors, etc. etc. You are a wonderful model for family life in this current crazy world. I always come away from especially these weekend videos, with a smile on my face and feeling uplifted that there are families like yours who realise how important family times are. Thank you for allowing us glimpses into your world. 💝💐

I can't tell you how much I love these video's. Shadow is thriving on all the love, all the dogs are. Such a wonderful thing you all are doing for these shelter dogs, could we clone the staff & the farm to help more shelter dogs? Thank you Sam for sharing your family time with us. I love the way the little people interact with the dogs. I know most people only think it's dogs that need training but I have seen many times children behave in ways which can provoke dogs....then the dogs react and get chastised. The children in the video appear to be naturals...which is great credit to the parents...well done it's beautiful to witness ❤️

How blessed are we to give and receive the love/time of our children and our dogs. the biggest thing for me is Shadow's transformation , hanging out with her family, splooting on the grass and smiling, her speed and stamina on the paddock runs, her horrid past forgotten. My heart swelled with pride at how far she has come.

What a beautiful video. I must say Shadow is a completely transformed dog and looks happy probably for the first time in her life and she can finally relax knowing that she is safe and doesn't have to be on her guard. She was even playing with the other puppies which she probably has never been relaxed enough to do. She reminds me of Freddo when he finally turned the corner. AMAZING xxx

What an amazing difference in Shadow. So friendly and loving with the puppies and acting like a puppy herself! She is a great example of what loving attention, consistent reinforcement of good behaviour and disciplined training can do. You have done a wonderful job with Shadow and saved a dog that was unadoptable and would likely have been put down. Bravo Luke. Thank you for your commitment and perseverance with the shelter dogs!
Pugs have just the right type of face for squidging ❤️. This just has to be Pablo’s best weekend ever at the farm… pizza, turkey, mud and balls 😂🤣. Darling Shadow just smiles from ear to ear… she is just SO happy, and no wonder bless her❤️🐾.

You rocked the weekend, Shadow! I see Red's grown some this week, and bonded with the goats. The Pointer Puppies and Boxer tug of war are adorable. There's nothing like having someone understand you because they're just like you somehow, be it physical or spiritual breed or family member, bestie or close colleague at work or volunteering. Wolfie's facial features are developing so quickly. Look out, Aussie girls! It's always great to see the family enjoying time together, but it's become more precious with Elle starting school. You can see her natural leadership talents even more now than before. Evie is just thrilled to have time with Elle before the week begins, but also happy to whirl around playing in her own imagination. The world has much to look forward to with this bunch.

Pablo is going to go home, look at his pawrents an say “BEST SLEEPOVER EVER!” I think Shadow has earned a new collar “ I have the need for speed”. She is fit and happy and yes, can beat the best at a run.

I know how hard all you guys work for the dogs and your family but thank you so much for allowing us a little glimpse into your day. There is so much joy to see in this video like Shadow running free with the other dogs and puppies, what a real heartbreaker that is. I am so very proud of her and you of course for all the time and effort that you have spent on her to make this possible. Then there are all the dogs together having fun in and out of the mud ... Pablo is the dirtiest little devil (love him). Darling Wolfie covered in melon, cheese biscuits, avocado and pizza soooo very precious. Finally all the dogs stretching out running full pelt in the field especially Shadow again she is looking so very fit. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU. ❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👍🏼
