Yea had one break into my firehouse base in rosewood and after i put like 2 or 3 45 rounds downrange and went to sleep the whole place had atleast 100 to 150 zeds just standing outside nice thing is none are able yo get to my living quaters and i have a shitload of food so i just waited it out for a few days and cleared the rest with a truck

While playing Project Zomboid with my friends I wandered off while we were exploring a military base for loot and got scratched by a zombie. I disinfected it and bandaged the wound and returned to my friends. Then the anxiety moodlet popped up. We were still new to the game, so I checked the wiki. Well, we were in a military base surrounded by zombies, right? There were reasons to be scared! The moodlet didn't go away. I was driving and watching the moodlet, knowing my time was near. It then turned into Queasy, and so we were certain I had the virus now. I pulled over on the side of the road and my friends got out their guns. It was the darkest scene I've seen in a video game as I was put down like Old Yeller on the side of the highway.
Fun fact: As someone who cut their finger open on a soup can less than 24 hours ago, I know that a cut on the finger or the scalp is very unlikely to get infected because they're very good at bleeding-not much can get in if everything's going out

actually a cut on the fingers has the highest chance to get infected since it is the least hygienic part of the body. yes, it is even more filthy than your butt.
Go back even just 100 years and try saying this. Won't be quite so easy.

Sepsis only happens if you have an infection-that's what it is, a quick google search says it's the body's final hail mary to save itself from the infection.

This is peak Door Monster. I love it. The twists, the jokes you know are coming, the ones you know are coming but turn out to be slightly but significantly different than you expected, and of course a lovely tune at the end.

There weren't any zombies around, they were just hallucinating. That's why when Ellie threw that brick it had to travel several miles to find a target. And may I say, I was not expecting the brick to return so soon, so when I realized what Matt had in his hand I burst out laughing. Well played DM.

My buddy literally did this. I was like, "hey bro, you'd tell me if you were bit right?" He gives me a chuckle and was "yeah sure bro." Bastard waited till he turned, I'm making soup in the kitchen and he goes "bro you might want to turn around." From then on we have mandatory medical checks before bed.

How appropriate that I've been binging a lot of Project Zomboid lately. And this is exactly how my PZ experience has been online. xD
My best story, however, was the time I tried to cook for everyone in my group and accidentally added bleach to my stew. However, because it wasn't "too much" bleach, the game didn't think it prudent to tell me that I'd poisoned the stew (bleach was not shown as an ingredient of the stew).
I promptly dropped dead after showing off my cooking and taking the first bite.
... how do you "accidentally" add _bleach_ to anything?

I did notice how it wasn't a usual zombie bite at the beginning but that didn't prepare me for how confused I was at what the punchline was going to be when it turned out a regular scratch.

I swear that characters in zomboid have no natural clotting abilities, either - have you seen how fast a bandage becomes dirty??
I’d imagine a bandage would get dirty pretty quickly while covering a laceration on the neck.

I was playing with a couple friends a week ago. One of us got bit and she squealed. I simply turned around and brained her with my shovel on the spot. Not having anyone turn on the walk home, not a chance. She was less than thrilled about that resolution
