I recently bought a lenovo ideapad flex 5 14|AU7 intel i5 12th gen 512 SSD ,8 GB RAM.
All my previous laptops were dell and matter of fact i was planning to buy Dell EVO platform but it was too expensive for me.
When i thought of buying a lenova, at first i was too scared to spend a lot of money in lenovo because i always thought most lenovo laptops werebudget friendly machines with poor built quality.
But my first impressions with ideapad changed my perspective about lenovo laptops .
Great Design with high performance even features like fingerprint and keyboard backlit is well built.
Touch capabilities are fine but sometimes when we convert tablet mode to PC mode the keyboard won't turn back ON
I rarely use tablet mode my ideal style is normal PC mode with touch capabilities

Take a word of advice from me, RUN away from Lenovo. I bought my 2nd Lenovo and BOTH has hinge and other issues.

I'm pretty sure the iGPU of AMD APU performs much better than Intel chips.

You could probably consider lenovo yoga 7? It uses a AMD 6800u processor with a integrated amd radeon 680m graphics(far better than intel iris) plus it has a 2.8k oled touch display which costs abt 1.2k USD. There are other configuration of this laptop which you can check out online, but i recommend this model if your main purpose is just for studies.

@@sdprsavu ermm unless you are a gamer i won't recommend you get the legion models as they are extremely bulky and heavy and would thus be a big problem when carrying around for a student. But i also understand that even as a student we would still like to game, and there is really nth to worry if you get the laptop i mentioned previously i believe it is still suitable for some light gaming if you want for instance you could probably play genshin at low to medium graphics at its native resolution, or even high if you lowered it to 1080p.btw there is a ryzen 7 7735u model as well but with a 1080p resolution... So there's that.

Another pointless rant on how to only buy ms products in a failing market....the truth is that lenovo will be fully linux compatable by 2026 according to the chinease premier.
The eu will only allow laptops to be sold which make the following criteria
Fully recyclable materials
must allow operation of five or more independent operating systems for national security issues by the user without modification
Must be fully upgradeable by the user
Parts must be available for seven years or more after sale
These DONT make these future standards 3 out of ten !

Stay clear from Lenovo PCs. I have had nothing but problems with my laptop. Hinge was replaced and now after 3 months (reviews online confirm it's a manufacturer defect) hinge went bad AGAIN. Will never buy Lenovo and won't recommend anyone doing the same.
