    Very nice Digitoning too!

      Hey thank you! The Digitone is one of my all-time favorites, I actually sold it after owning it since 2017, but that’s because I want to get the Keys ;)

      @@Duskmos Oh but the Digitone is one of those synths you should never sell...well at least I will keep mine. I did get rid of the Digitakt though and haven't looked back

      @@espacemaxim Haha yeah! I'm just "upgrading" to the Digitone Keys! I'd love a Digitone 2, but I don't know what else they'd do to it =)

    I love my nightsky. Thanks for your in depth video, very compex pedal for sure.

      That's great! Appreciate you checking out the video! For folks who want to get their hands dirty with crafting a specific/unique sound - the complexity really allows for that. =)

    Just found your channel this is EXACTLY what I've been looking for, thank you!
    Edit: also wanted to let you know this video is why i finally pulled the trigger and bought this.

      Thanks for finding it!! I'm glad you enjoy and appreciate it! I started this channel 2 years ago because nothing like it existed, so I figured I'd try to go for it. It's been an adventure (and way more work than I ever expected), but comments like yours make it a rewarding experience. =)
      That's awesome! Yeah the NightSky is a lot of fun. I'm still exploring it and finding new sounds. I hope you love it!

      @@Duskmos I'm positive I'll love it because your video showcased what it does and that's what i was looking for. Pairing it with my Hydrasynth for some ambient hellscapes. Also have the Soma Cosmos on the way so i have a lot of options with my current setup. Going to be a wild ride!!

    Easily the best presentation on the NightSky. I finally feel like I have heard what It is capable of. It has a very plasticy dark thick underwater sound.

      Thank you Darren! You're right! That's a great way to describe it. I do think it can sound pretty unique, which makes it a cool option to have around.

    Great review. Nightsky has been on my radar. My list so far Microcosm, BigSky, Nightsky, Neon Egg, Volantre, and Mobius. Always up for cheaper alternatives, but can see value in buying a quality product. None are cheap co sidering they are more $ than a Microfreak. So many great peddle choices.

    • @Duskmos
      @Duskmos  Před rokem +1

      Thank you! And you’re right, lots of great choices but definitely spendy! I’ve had the Microcosm, NightSky, Neon Egg Planetarium and Volante (though that’s a lot more about the delay than the spring reverb - I love it for delay). Microcosm is great if you want some sporadic randomness sprinkled in, NightSky is good for modulation and sequencing, and the N.E. Planetarium is a great reverb, delay, and compressor with sidechain! Depending on what else you have pedal wise, I’d go from there and see if any of them fill multiple gaps. Big Sky seems really nice, and I haven’t checked out the Mobius much. You should also check out the Vongon Ultrasheer - one of my favorites!

    Specific setting combinations sound great with my synths and other keys. Bonus is the ability to set it up to receive MIDI program change commands over 3 banks of 100 presets each (took me a while!). None of my keys send a Bank change message, but I find 100 presets in Bank A is much more than enough, especially since my Wavestate only sends/receives 64 program changes (although my DeepMind 12 can send up to 128). Otherwise, you can just select 8 Favorite presets if not using MIDI. The shimmer reverbs sound the best for my synths. Fine demo here how to program settings.

    • @Duskmos
      @Duskmos  Před 3 měsíci

      Sheesh! SO many presets! I like having the 8 easy-to-jump-between preset slots onboard, that alone is pretty hard to come by in pedal form. NightSky is pretty epic indeed, I bet it sounds great on the Wavestate - I'm imagining crispy crystalline sounds floating into space haha =)

    • @user-ns2su1cm3j
      @user-ns2su1cm3j Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@Duskmos Yes, also sounds fine with my Cobalt 5S, Volca FM2 and DeepMind 12, and even a bit for Yamaha MX61. For the first 64 patches in Bank A, I'm still moving presets around to match the specific synth sounds via MIDI again. With the line mixer, I take monitor/effects OUT to NightSky, and on each channel/synth I can set how much or little reverb it uses. The OUTS from NightSky go into stereo return on the main mixer, more overall volume control. Agree that many patches is overkill, and the 8 Favourites would cover most needs. I think it was the challenge of setting it up for MIDI control that motivated the Nerd in me (and watching all the lights change automatically).

    Stuck between this, the Ventris, and the Sloer. This is by far the best demo of the Night Sky! Keep them review tails long!
    Have you used the Digitone to modulate settings on the night sky via MIDI?

    • @Duskmos
      @Duskmos  Před 9 měsíci

      Oh wow, thanks for the compliment! As far as picking between those three - that's a bit of a tough one. I haven't tried the Ventris but own the Sloer and the NightSky (obviously haha) and I don't envy having to pick just one! Have you decided? Or are you still doing your research?
      I haven't set that up! I'm a bit lazy with MIDI programming - I mostly just sync tempos and MAYBE set up program changes to change presets, but I mostly just get hands on and tweak my way to something I like haha. That being said, I always want to have the option if I can!

    Very very different from the Ultrasheer both sound and operation/wise but this would have been a contender for me. Love the form factor too.

    • @Duskmos
      @Duskmos  Před rokem

      It’s definitely a great option and worthy of being someone’s only reverb for sure. Extra modulation and those shimmer/glimmer octave options are nice for keeping things interesting, which is great. Formfactor is awesome with these, although one smalll gripe is the finish is kind of like superfine sandpaper on this color (the Volante is perfectly smooth) which is weird haha, not something that impacts the function in the least obv but just kinda…odd feeling haha. 😆
