Welcome ! I did my best to show you around my FIRST apartment. I wanted to give you an idea of what you can get in Montreal on a budget. What do you think?
I'm moving to Montreal next month ( Dec 2020 ), which neighborhood's are best in the city for affordable apartments? Please email me : michael.theprince888@gmail.com,. Thank you *
Ouuu it’s a cute little apartment though, I pay 700 WITH utilities for a room. Smh. You have me considering moving down there. I like what you did with the kitchen as well
Hi! Thank you for showing us your previous apartment. I wanted to ask you, I've been looking in PadMapper for studio apartments and have found several in the $750-$850 range, given the price, do you think those could be scams or something like that? or maybe I would have to get used to rats and things like that? This will be my first time in Montreal so I'm really lost. Thank you if you could help me!
I don't think it's a scam at all :) I just recommend you visit the apartment in person to have a look and just look out for any holes or droppings especially in the kitchen. check the cupboards. There was a huge hold under out sink and in one of our floor cupboards. So for sure this is where the rats were coming in
How did you find this apartment...rent is reasonable... I'll move to Montreal next month as a student pls let me know how to find good accommodation in reasonable price.
The area is snowdon. But not every area in snowdon will have rats. I think it's because of the intersection I lived was across from the metro(the subway) and next to the highway. I lived at queen mary and Victoria avenue intersection. Snowdon is a lovely area to live just in that area avoid the extremely old units. Or if you are looking be sure to check every corner before signing the lease. We had a huge hole under our sink. So that was where I messed up.
@@Jeivestor Yeah try to avoid old units then. When I was apartment hunting in 2019 I saw an apartment that seemed perfect until I saw a dead roach on the counter. The guy living there forgot to clean it up before letting us in. If he didn't we probably would have took the place.
🤣 I 100% realized my hair was a mess halfway through filming and definitely told myself I would edit it out. But then by the time I edited the video I didnt care
@@tomaxxamot4906 🤣 it did haha. How does our housing compare so far ? I see that in Texas and in Georgia you can buy some big ass houses for a decent price. The price of a mansion in Texas is the same as a 3 bedroom 2 garage basic ass home in Toronto lol
@@goldenxkenny It depends on what part of Texas. Houston and it's suburbs are growing fast but the prices are kinda decent. An apartment in a decent area similar go the one in your vid is about 800+-1000
I just got an apartment in MTL! the renting prices are so much more affordable than other spots in canada
It really is! And it's a bonus that the city is so beautiful

Thank you ! You could actually get an apartment here on the west side of montreal for 700. Someone I know has a 1 bedroom for that price
Yup, she did an amazing job with the kitchen, simple but effective, totally transformed it.👍
l live in Montreal too and I'm also looking for an apartment
Holy cow. $950 gets me just my little bedroom in LA!
😱
Golden Kenny hey, I know you! I loved your shrimp boil video and used your recipe as the basis for mine! Thank you so much, cheers!

Which canadian city/province is better in terms of cost of living and job opportunities?
If you want a good appartment in montreal, you have to be ready to pay 1000+. Still fairly cheaper than Toronto.
Still WAY cheaper than Toronto. They have many decent apartments here in montreal between 1000-1100. Toronto... Bring that to 2K + 😳
@@goldenxkenny that's still too expensive
Would you please tell me which accommodation location is near of Polytechnic Montreal ?
It can help me to search. Thank you in advance.
Hey Guys ! I've uploaded a new Apartment video to show another example of an Apartment in Montreal at a different price point.
Love the video! What do you use to flim and edit your videos?
Thank you :) I use my Samsung phone to film and I edit using Adobe Premiere Pro
@@goldenxkenny 20 bucks amonth....
@@workinonit7508 I know, but i am an artist i also use photoshop and indesign for work so i just pay for the adobe cc programs monthly
Every one is leaving Toronto to come experience those cheap rentals
Toronto is pushing everyone out with those rental prices !
@@goldenxkenny yup there people paying $3000 a month for rent, sometimes they have to sublet their apartment just so they can afford rent.
What’s the best way to find places for rent??
Personally when I'm looking I use in this order 1. Kijiji, 2. Facebook, and 3. Zumper 🤗
How did you find this apartment...rent is reasonable... I'll move to Montreal next month as a student pls let me know how to find good accommodation in reasonable price.
I searched for apartments using kijiji, zumper, and facebook marketplace
@@goldenxkenny & also pls let me know what is the distance between ur apartment & downtown ?
Was this apartment furnished or unfurnished?
it came unfurnished
The rats took over and kicked you out 😩😭
😭 He did. That's his apartment. Not mine I was just a guest 🤣
Thanks !!! For the rats lol
LOL you are so welcome ~
Rats 🤮 loving following your journey in Montreal, Kendal x
Thanks Marni 😄💖 and yes... RATS 🥴😵
Please what area is the rat apartment so that I make sure not to go there
