🥳 We celebrated Thomas’ birthday with lots of outdoor adventures up in Camp Verde, AZ. It was the perfect way to cool down as it heats up for the summer!
💦 We jump the cliffs at Bull Pen (maybe the best swimming hole in AZ), learned some fun facts at Montezuma Castle National Monument and had big float planned on the Verde River for on Thomas’ bday. That’s where things got a little off track…
What was planned as an easy 4 hour river float turned out to be much longer and challenging than we thought. Even after paddling hard for a good majority of the float we ended up racing the setting sun before it went down. Needless to say…we lost that race 😟

We literally did the same exact thing for my wife's 40th birthday! She recently passed away at 43. We didn't film it because we didn't have a CZcams channel yet. I'm pretty sure we got some good photos though but the memories were amazing and that's all that matters. Thank you for making this video and helping me remember that precious time ❤️

I lived and worked in Camp Verdeee 😊 a few years ago and being from the great state of 48 (AZ) there's SOOO much our state has to offer! Y'all missed going down the Slide Rock area, but it's much better to do that in the summer. It's a HUGE attraction area. There's also lots of other areas, like Roosevelt Lake, that has great Anasazi ruins. Our state also has some of the best Mexican food! If you haven't already, you'll probably want to take a dip in Havasupai Falls at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Most out of staters aren't aware of all that AZ has too offer as far as recreational activity and great swimming spots! We also have excellent skiing up north in Flagstaff and the White Mountains! North of Tucson in Mt. Lemon there's also a skiing area along with waterfalls in the summer. Glad you got to enjoy a little of what AZ has to offer 😊 I really enjoyed your vlog. Happy New Year!

Great info, I'm feeling a little silly stopped in camp Verde grab some Mexican food and then took a sleep at the hotel and went on to the next town. It was my first time through the area and I wasn't following this channel so I was a little clueless. I'm planning on buying land over by bullhead City and snowbirding down there from Minnesota.

Lake Havasu was a good swimming hole, but that’s another episode all together!
