This had me smiling so much. Pleasant host. Knowledgeable and also pleasant Owner. Love my birthplace. My Island Trinidad
I would love to live on that estate and eat up.all of those exotic fruits!
Crystal, you look absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the virtual experience!🙏 Respect to Mr. Manhin. He's like a walking encyclopedia for exotic fruits!
This is one of the best local productions I have seen in my 68 years.
Well done !
As a schoolboy, I knew Mr Manhin from his bookstore, his air gun store, and Speedwell car parts. This man should get a national award for his former business acumen, and his endeavours in bringing exotic plants to T&T.
Chrisal, you are a true Trini. You speak well with no false accents, and no American mannerisms. Mark one for you !
I know and have tasted some of those fruits, thanks to Mr Manhin.
Regards.
R.R.
I hea watching nextdoor from Barbados & I wishing I was overdea now
So true
So true
I grew up in Flanagin Town not too far away from La Vega. So many of my childhood memories were walking the road with my great grand mother who had her garden in La Vega. I especially remember "S corner" on the way and the roads flanked by Coco trees and coffee. The things we take for granted that we now treasure later on in life. Thank you for sharing a beautiful part of Trinidad that many haven't discovered.
Mr Manhin still alive and always the most pleasant gentleman, how many people remembered that Mr Manhin represented Trinidad and Tobago in the Olympics as a marksman in rifle segment?very good man .
I just love older men with his temperament, it reminds me of my late father... RIP daddy
I'm from Jamaica...we had five fingers tree in the yard...4 sweets ones and one sour one...make nice juice
Good afternoon Mr Bertram Manhin it's good to see you bless health
Beautiful, enjoyed this video from Dominica.

Oh my! I totally enjoyed this.
Delicious looking fruits.
Five finger are tart and acid, we make juice with them. Never had a sweet one. My mother told me about shaddock but I've never seen one
I had dragon fruit and mangosteen recently for the first time in my life,,I fell in love with mangosteen and rambutan...
Well done.
Chrisal, yes, growing up, five fingers were very sour. I was quite skeptical about trying it in this era, then I realise it's quite sweet. My mom made candy from the shaddock skin.
Candy yuh say??!! Loveeee that
There is another fruit that was also called " five fingers" and these were thin long greenish-yellow and VERY acidic. Indian folks used to cut them and added to their pepper sauce. I do nit know any other no biological name fir this fruit.
Trinidad & Tobago.
@@chrisalmartin5567 i do not like that. Bitter aftertaste. There are better stuff to nake into candy !
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode. I was wondering recently why we don't grow fruits from Thailand as we have the temperature
I hope in time Mr Manhin would try to grow mangosteen too. Very nice to see you Chrisal 🙂
I believe they have it as well!
Wery interesting vlog Crystal. I did not there were so many fruits on the La Vega estate. I wonder why Trinis don't eat more fruits especially children. As a boy, my aunt gave nw my fruit bag to take to school.
Ncw to see Mr. Manhin. Mr. Manhin represented Trinidad in sports.
