- Since I couldn't find one online I thought I'd create an overview of the entertainment system in the new Peugeot 308.
Video in English - Excuse the fact that my system is in French!
This is the "smeg" system in the 2014-2017 car. The restyled 2018 car has a "nac" system
I'm thinking of buying a 308 and this video of the system really helps! Merci beaucoup for the clear explaination.
Oh buy one I love mine (blue SW GT line automatic). i need to get around to filming part 2!
The Smeg system is crap and very slow

How its going with that car
@@forfran it is going great, i have had no problems with it, had it serviced 2 weeks ago, and they said it was nothing unnormal, and only changed filters and fluids.
I also swapped the reverse camera at the dealer, since the original one is not the best in dusk and pitch black conditions, so peugeot offered me a newer model camera, and that works great in the dark , recommend all doing that
As for how the car feels, it feels just as fun as the day i got it, although i have swapped all the speakers and installed a total of 12 speakers an amp and a sub, so it is allaround a fun and fantastic car still, and very nice for the wallet since it is not a very thirsty car (which is great these days). I look forward to driving many more kilometers and with it 🙌🏼

yes you can, you can either type in the adres, or select a place on the map to navigate to.

Very instructive and helpful, quick question, in my previous company car there was a SD slot so I could put my own music on the SD card and listen to it. Does the 308 SW have a SD card slot?

How do you turn off air conditioning? If I turn off AC button, I still see that ventilation works. It seems complicated if I always need to click on fan until it is off
Is there a way to have the system mix the audio coming from my phone with the audio coming from the system itself ? Basically, I would like to hear any sound from the phone AND the radio at the same time.
Hi, not that I'm aware of. though if you have your phone paired on BT, and music playing from the car radio, it will give you notifications from your phone (incoming call, sms etc..) which you should be able to configure under phone or bluetooth from what I remember.
Nice video! Perhaps you can also help me with a question i've got about the navigation on this system. When i've got the satnav on but i've got the system in the music or temperature menu its doesn't give me any visual notifications / direction from the satnav. Do i need to switch that on somewhere? Hope you can help, thanks!
In that situation the nav should give you instructions on the central screen of your instrument panel, between the rev counter and speedo. You may need to scroll through that screen by pressing the button on the end of the wiper stalk if i remember rightly!
Thanks for your answer! When i press the button on the right wiper stalk i get the pop-up with the fuel economy. On the left i get nothing, got any other ideas?

Do you know a solution for the whole audio of the car not working… sometimes :D it happened to me a few times and the best i could find is a problem with the amplifier in the trunk. It thinks that there is a problem with one of the speakers so the car mutes all the audio. But not sure about it and i don’t want to deasemble galf of the car to check. Thank you and much apricieted!

it helps with a few questions i have as i want to get an Estate version of 308SW.
Question i have is how easy is it adjust the temperature of the cabin while driving.
A lot of reviews in the Uk say that it’s fiddly to do and takes your eyes off the road for too long how do you find it while driving .
Also can you access your phone book contacts through the steering wheel rather through the touch screen

Hi, i found i got used to the aircon in the touch screen..it.is more fiddly than having separate switches, for sure, but then i like how it's led to such a clean dashboard style. So overall a bit more fiddly but for me not a major issue.
As for the phone contacts i've never tried it..if i can i'll let you know but for now i can't say i'm afraid.

Chris Hill Hi i have a 308sw. I got the GT line since i love the body kit and black interior. I went with the 1.2 litre 130hp engine which i find fabulous with the automatic gearbox. I'm thrilled with the car and the quality is clearly there - i haven't had a single issue with it.

Hey guys. Just thinking of buying 2014 308. But there is no that button for navigation on its device. Now, is it just facktory turned off, so that somewhow I can switch it on, or that version is without gps device at all?

Sadly you never show how the photos USB or Aux plug work this is a wee bit of a grey area. Can I plug in my phone and watch live TV using the main control screen via USB or Aux this is my Q.

I've just purchased a 2017 308 gt but the sound keeps going off, no audio from the speakers at all. Any ideas what this could be?
This is a common fault. It happens to mine at random intervals too. If you check on the forums you'll find many answers, none of them definitive. It's frustrating as hell. It's pot luck whether you get any sound through the speakers when you first get in. Then, later, all the sound comes back. It's either an electrical gremlin or a software issue. It should be an easy fix after all these years but isn't as far as I know. It spoils an otherwise superb car.
Other than that, how is it going with the car
It feels a bit unresponsive. How fast is it your opinion?

Memory test for me since i changed cars but i thought that when you're in the MEDIA page (the notes) there was a settings menu which had aux in it and u had to tick it to activate it

is there an option to switch on and off the start-stop system through the panel?
Not sure im afraid ive not got that version any more. Start stop is either deactivated by a button low down between the steering wheel and the door, or by ticking / unticking a box in the vehicle parameters in the screen (the little car)
@@benhindsley ohh thank you very much for this information! Just one more thing bugs my mind, do you have to deactivate it every time you get into a car or does it stay deactivated once you untick the start-stop system? Would really appreciate your answer on this one, thanks
Every time..the start stop reduces fuel consumption and emissions, so for it to count in the vehicle homologation it must be ON every time the vehicle starts. It does have complex strategies to not stop the engine for example if heating or AC is required,.or the battery is charging etc. But in general either u deactivate it each time, or learn to live with it and save a little CO2 on each drive 👍

There is no pause button when playing Bluetooth audio or from a usb !!?
Don't know about that im afraid
Just hit mute on the steering wheel, dash knob, or touch screen.. It pauses and will carry on where it was when you unmute

How good is the stereo system?
Not sure how to answer that. The standard stereo is perfectly fine and in one of mine i had the denon hifi with the subwoofer and uprated speakers which i found brilliant

You need to hold gearbox in your car and see wich Version so you have, i Have bought used one and i see that Sound ist poor so i downloaded New update instal it, audio for me is 30% better now

I'm tempted to buy one. Can't decide what colour or engine. The sensible part of me says I should get the 1.2 but I'm worried it will be slow and annoying, changing gear every 10 seconds.
Buy one! I had the 1.2 130hp auto (sw, gt line) and it was brilliant, a really dynamic engine.
What about the touch screen bit? People say it's annoying. The only other problem I have is the steering wheel position and the rear leg room. I don't suppose you can comment on the leg room bit if you had the sw version. Otherwise I'm really tempted.
steering wheel was perfect for me but i suppose u could try one at a garage, i love the fact that it's smaller it makes the car so much more kart like !
Rear leg room is less than a golf sure but do you need it? If so an sw would be better!! Though on the upside the hatch has a much bigger boot than the golf, and overall the peugeot is a lot more fun! 😉
I went in to a dealership today and had a look. I'm really disappointed. I love the layout and feel of sitting in the driving seat. Some bits in the 308 seemed a bit cheap but I think I would get on well with the small steering wheel and the dials and the overall look and feel is miles ahead of a Golf. The only problem I had was when I sat in the back seat. I'm only about 175cm but it was too small for me to be confortable. It seems like the designers were very stupid to not take 5-10cm from the back to make more leg room. The car wasn't switched on so I couldn't try the touch screen but I think I'd be ok with it just because I liked the interior so much. I'll probably end up buying a Golf now and I know I really won't like the dull interior and incredibly dull exterior but practicality will win. I bloody hate Golfs.

Could you please answer how to turn on the heat without turning on the AC?
Not quite sure what you mean? Just turn on the heat and press "a/c" to turn off the air conditioning
benhindsley this is what I dont understand, how to turn on the heat? From what I saw, you can set temperature, but you cannot set warm or cold air. Do you get what I mean?
You can only set the temperature. The car has sensors and knows the cabin temperature and sunlight conditions. So you set a higher or lower temp and this system takes care of the air temp for you.

Not on that 2014-2017 version. But now i have a 2019 version and it has android auto. Im guessing it has apple too

Hi Ben mine keeps resetting every 5 mins any i dea what is wrong, it seems by all accounts to be a well known fault but noboy seem to have an answer as how to fix it?
At least I am not on my own just got my GT today and the 9 inch screen keeps knocking off every 5 mins or so did you get it fixed
It’s a well known fault with this model I contacted Peugeot uk and they said they would pay half if I paid the other considering this would still cost me 500 I decided to purchase one off eBay that had been modified so this won’t happen again and it’s been no problem at all and only cost 150.00

I have a 2024 308 and it is awful clunky sluggish overly involved and distracting. Sometimes it changes without any inputs. Worst in car system. I have used in twenty years.
