For everyone who is concerned about the reformulation for new Dior Homme Intense 2020. The 2020 DHI has the same formulation as the juice in DHI which run from the Mid 2017 till date. The formulation code is 10950/A. So don't worry and enjoy the juice. Unless you like the old box and the old bottle design

Thank god that I had the forethought to buy 100 ml back up bottles of Dior Homme, Dior Homme Intense (2011), and Dior Homme Parfum ! I love them all !! A travesty to loose these classics !!

I just ordered a new October 2020 batch (2 months old) and it lasts 10+ hours. Tested it against the second bottle I ordered: Acqua di Parma Colonia Essenza. I couldn’t understand what was going on. Dior Homme Intense 2020 is the best and longest lasting fragrance I have ever had. And I have: Eau Sauvage Parfum, Bleu de Chanel, Oud Wood, ADP, Acqua di Gio Profumo, Lalique Encre Noir A‘l Extreme, etc...
Dior Homme Intense 2020 is the best of the bunch.

I recently bought a bottle and I will say I like it. Sometimes the iris can be cloying, but this is definately toned down and more wearable. I have Uomo Intense and I find it sweeter that the Dior Intense 2020.
Dior homme intense is not herbal in the opening?
I have homme (original), homme cologne (2007), homme eau, homme cologne (2013), homme intense (2020), homme (2020) and I have homme sport arriving next weel.
I really like the intense (2020). To me it's a bit deeper and darker than the homme original, which i get a bit of fresh sweetness from that blends nicely with the iris and leather. With the intense 2020 I get less sweetness, more cocoa and a darker iris which I really like because it gets "deeper" without branching off to much. I haven't gotten the parfum yet, but I think intense 2020 will be a great "introductionary" scent to the more dark, deep and heavy iris scents.
Just want to finish with:
Homme 2020: Decent scent but should've been a line of it's own, instead of usurping the homme line.
Homme intense 2020: Nice scent which is a compliment magnet.
Homme original: Just great, don't destroy....
Homme Eau: Bring this back!
Homme cologne 2013: Great scent but should've been a line of it's own.
Homme cologne 2007: Bring this back! Seriously amazing scent! unique and can be worn around the year with a gorgeous iris! BRING THIS BACK! 100ml Won't last a lifetime. BRING THIS BACK!
Intense 2020 is not a bit weird herbal in the opening?

Great review. Your nose really matches the characteristics of the fragrance which I bought based on this. Never owned the previous iterations so maybe it gives me an unbiased view... I like it.

its quite confusing from Dior as I have 4 different year/batches. the new DHI that I have doesnt have the writing on cap like yours, but I believe they are the same juice. juice color is definitely lighter but I still get very good performance and smell is the same as old one. great take brother

@Joy Amin you are correct! The packaging has changed as has the juice color, but it’s the same formulation and same scent as the 2018/2019 bottles.
@Joy Amin Yes. I have a 2019 Dior Homme with the bee on the box and no Dior Homme on the black cap. It smells like the 2014 Dior Homme Parfum. Still Iris.
It smells the same at the 2011 version but slightly more fresh and pretty much most major reviewers on CZcams have said the same thing.
I have a 2019 bottle of DHI with the old bottle design and I have compared it side-by-side with both a 2020 bottle (new design) and a 2017 bottle, and they are all absolutely identical to my nose. The 2017 bottle was perhaps a little darker in the juice, but that's the only difference I could detect. And as far as I know they all also have the same formulation code: 10950/A. So what's with all this talk about "reformulation"??
yes you can confirm that with the official store too they never had reformulation, it‘s just that fragrances as it ages are just like alcohols they get stronger and better.
There are some new 2020 bottles with older batch liquid floating about . I believe that the latest ones smell little bit lighter and more fresher.
Sorry to say that but you must be wrong i have a bottle from 2019 here and one i bought in august 2021. The newer one smells so watered down and it`s longivity and projection is a bad joke compared to the older version. I don't understand why they put all the ingredience of this parfume out that made it once so populair.

yes the 2020 homme intense perfume seems little bit weaker , the bottle is not as classy as the 2011 , i think that the formulation was changed very slightly , i still love it but i wish they did not changed it .
It was better before .
the formulation on the box is the same on the latest batch 10950/A

Sampled the newest version of Intense, it is beautiful. I will say that Parfum is significantly better, but only because it’s one of the best scents ever made. Intense is good because it’s a lot more wearable; for casual day to day use and whatnot.
I am probably one of the few who really likes the Dior homme intense 2019/2020 version . I have an older batch from 2014 & it dose smell richer & more fuller however I like the 2019/2020 version also . Picked it up recently , to me it smells like a more mass appealing easier to wear scent ..

@@jajiolatunde9655 on my skin it performs quite well, not a beast mode by any stretch but not bad at all. Gives a nice scent cloud & iv'e got compliments wearing it after 4 hours from a girl at work . So performance not bad at all .
Bit late on it but I just saw this video and have to correct you.
The last reformulation of Dior Homme Intense was in 2017. Since then they didn't change it. You can check the formula code, it hasn't been changed since then.
For 2020 they just changed the design of this fragrance.
Same with Dior Homme Parfum. Some people claim that this has been reformulated too, since it now comes with 100ml instead of 75ml. But the formula code ist still the same since its release in 2014, so it hasn't been reformulated either.
no doubt they all use colouring in the juice anyway so should be greatful its lighter since more people want it on their clothes now and dont want it staining a white shirt, if people had any sense they wouldn't want it on their skin if you looked in to the chemicals used, but we all do it.
Yes. The colouring most likely has nothing to do with the concentration.
Agreed. That an experienced fragrance reviewer wouldn't even consider that it's just a change in the dyes used makes me shake my head.
Riformulated again ,now a little bit more fresh and less cozy , but still the same DNA. I still have to try Dior homme parfum 2020 we'll see

Hey Max, are you aware that Dior kept the original Dior Homme under the name Dior Homme Original? It was released in 2020 along with the new Dior Homme 2020. I think you should check it out.

Dior Homme Intense smells powdery and dark chocolate. Performance last 5-6 hours, but weak.
Dior Homme Parfum 100ml smells dark powder, sweet, spicy. Performance: 15+ hours.
Gotta let it macerate and get some oxygen in that bottle. I have a 2021 version and it’s just as good as my older 2015 bottle
I just got the 2020 version and it has low performance. How long did you let it macerate before it starts to perform?
@@souljah9e I'd say about 2 years and color turns into that ambery-orange same as older formulations of DHI. That is the case with my also 2021 batch of the current formula. However don't expect miracle imrpovement in performance, but the scent itself will definetly get sweeter, more irisy, darker and less woodsy-fresh than newly unboxed bottle.

Very interesting review, Ash from gent scents noted the only difference that the 2020 formulation was more fresh but on the whole smelt the same.
How can it smell more fresh but at the same time as same?? Makes no sense.
Oh no, they reformulated?! I have a bottle of the last formula of Dior Homme Intense EDP. There are a few men's colognes that I like to keep in my collection at all times, and this is one of them.💙

Its closer to the parfum than the old packaging
But its more fruity and flowery in the dry down to my nose
I have a DUA clone of the original Dior Homme Intense called "Intense Homme"which is really nice. Since they often have discounts this means you can get 50 mil for under $40.
Alexandria Fragrances also has a clone of Dior Homme Intense. It’s called “Velvet Iris”. And the scent is spot on.

Just try Givenchy Gentleman edp, it smells like the first 2 DHI.
Both companies are owned by LVMH and this was deliberate, so as to get more sales for the Givenchy Gentleman line.

I think this will make my decision between Dior Homme Intense and Valentino Uomo Intense a bit easier. It's leaning more and more towards Valentino.
That's too bad, the Intense is a masterpiece. Absolutely wonderful fragrance.
Dior Homme Original is available in stores in europe. Its the same dior homme, the old one. I have tried a parfum one, 2020 and it has less iris and less leather. The leather is more smooth now and tamed a bit. Not in your face. But still a strong frag. Id say its better because of that less iris. Dunno if the Parfum 2020 will be availavle in the US but it is in EU.

Great review and it's on my list to try on. BTW the new batch of Dior Homme Parfum comes in 100ml and the differences with the original are very subtle according to a review I saw a while ago on CZcams.

Great video Max!! I was given a 100ml bottle if the New Dior Homme for my birthday back in March...along with a 2ml sample of it to try it..It is still boxed. After trying the sample I'm still not sure what to think about this fragrance. I was really annoyed by the chemical aspect not only at the opening but throughout all stages almost. This is probably due to a quite heavy dose of ambroxan, ISO super e or Cashmeran or something inside I don't remember which disturbed me quite a lot. However I do recall that performance was great but this synthetic thing did not work. I keep the bottle for the time being...
Hey Todd, sadly these notes (ambroxan, ISO super e or Cashmeran) are here to stay as we see more and more releases (even niche brands) dabbing into this over-saturated combination!

Oh my, I'm sure there's going to be lots of tears in the frag com groups when the 2020 DHP drops. I for one liked DH, DHI and DHE (RIP) better then DHP anyway. Maybe I'll like what Dior does with the DHP reform.

I think because you smelled Dior homme 2020 and how it is horrible, makes you consider DHI 2020 is good release although (in my opinion )it is the worst formula of DHI in history.

Actually they made much less money (esp. with DHP) then you might think. My older sister hast to do with Dior professionally (distribution) so i asked her whats up with that mess and apperantly they didnt sell all that well.
They just don't understand Homme Intense isn't for anybody. A great fragrance destroyed reformulation. The day will come when the older version will be called niche

I'm happy they didn't sharply change the formulation as in the not intense 2020 version.
But people say that this new intense version lacks in projection, though.

What's annoying is that if I buy the new packaging of DHI, the bottle cap won't match the Parfum or EDT ones that I have, so I have to hunt for a 2019 box with the plain cap. What's even more annoying is that the new Dior Homme Original doesn't have the labelling on the cap either so you can't actually have a complete current line-up that matches properly if you only buy new packaging.

I'll buy this version to save my older DHI formulation
I would like to think they are the same, but after testing this last edition i find it simplified and 2 dimensional in comparison with old one. And there is som strange little fanki note in base. It's not prominent but it is there. DH and DHI was fragrance definitely without any strange/fanki note. It's my opinion after 3 sampling Dior Homme Intense

Bought a week ago a 150 ml bottle of DHI2020. Quite disappointed, frankly not very intense. Week longevity and amost no sillage. I hope in spring or summer it will be more noticeable.

Max, did you even consider that the difference in intensity might be due, at least in part, to maceration of the original juice? Or that the difference in color might be due to a change in the dyes used?
I think so too. That was exactly what happened to my late 2021 bottle. Initially upon unboxing I was shocked how light the juice was and the scent was more fresh-woodsy than I would expect. Today after using 1/3 of that bottle juice has exact color as Max's DHI bottle from 2011, and the scent is more darker sweeter, fruitier-irisy than when I first got it. My guess Dior is not giving this frag enough time to properly settle becasue demand is high and they want to sell as much as possible pushing quickly produced bottles.

My skin turns red after about 5min after applying this perfume. So annoying that I won't be able to use it :(

Also just bought the 2020 intense and last year got the Parfum version, it's not that strong, the Parfum is far more powerful, sweeter with some oud and a slightly waxy vibe. Intense has the chocolate vibe, gorgeous scent and not as edgy but a almost skin scent after 2-3 hours. Bit of a disappointment
