I am already fully aware of the benefits of raw feeding, as I have been feeding raw for 17 yrs. But I just want to say, I really appreciate that you said if someone can just do a portion of raw or fresh food, props to them! That is so nice to hear on a video, because it is so true!
I work with dogs professionally for a living and I have seen a difference in client's pets that have just gotten a little raw added in!

I’m so confused about all these different dry foods and which ones are good which ones are bad.. it just seems like a bunch of nonsense. So I started making homemade food from scratch in my pressure cooker. The one thing I am hoping you can give me advice on is what is the best vitamins to put in their homemade food so they get all the things that they need.

First of all, I’d like to say THANK YOU for helping pet owners around the world by making these videos. You’re amazing.
I would love if you made content in the future a) reviewing common raw food brands and b)going over raw food watch outs/pitfalls to watch out for when choosing a food. As you’ve said “raw dog food” has now become a buzz word, which I’m sure means both good and bad-intentioned brands are all trying to buy in

I feed my two dogs raw food since they are only 3 months. I bought the premade raw food from commercial raw food company which combines muscle meats, organs, crushed bones, tripe, salmon and crushed salmon bone. They have variety of meat to choose, such as chicken, turkey, lamb, veal, possum, rabbit, duck, goat, wallaby, venison. I also add some puree vege , blueberries and raw organic eggs to their raw, I add some supplements to their raw, such as salmon oil, flaxseed oil, coconut oil, kelp, green lipped mussel power, bone broth, raw goat milk and goat milk kefir to keep balanced. They are super super healthy!

Hi, you are helping me research what to feed and how. I was so BLESSED to have had a pet meat processing plant near me in Florida that mixed raw beef/chicken, with vitamins, some veggies, etc. They would then freeze in tubes of 2 pounds each. And provide it in stores for purchase, in a freezer. NOTE: the plant had been a human grade processing plant and that was a bonus. My Pet Store owner REALLY involved himself in nutrition and animal care. He advocated and sold goat milk for years, so I trusted the products. NOW I live elsewhere and have not found similar products or companies. SO, you're help is essential and I will look at your raw diet info. AND def get goat milk. You are so good for pets, you make a difference.

He would have diarrhea almost every day. We went to the vet and he found nothing wrong with him. I tried raw. Diarrhea went away in 1 week. It has been 1 year now since his last diarrhea and i could not be happier!

I would love an elaboration on the "how do I feed my pet raw" segment, if you do make a part 2! :) For example, what brands do you suggest? Are there other raw toppers you recommend? My silky terrier currently eats kibble that I top with dehydrated raw nuggets (that I rehydrate with bone broth) and goat milk, but I'm definitely interested in switching the kibble out for a raw option, like the Primal sccop & serve formulas.

The concern I have with raw feeding...while no different than bringing raw food into my house from the grocery store, I also normally don't proceed to eat my chicken raw and then slobber on the floor, couch, kids, etc. If you don't have kids it seems it would be easier logistics by a long shot!

My parents have two dogs, one of which is a golden retriever who will lick your hands, feet, face, and clothes any chance he gets and they’ve been feeding exclusively raw for seven years now. My dad has gotten food poisoning from oysters several times but never from the dogs’ food!
I adopted my first dog 8 months ago and started feeding her raw 6 months ago. No illness over here either, even though she loves to lick my face and has managed a few sneak attacks after a recent meal 🤪

I feed both my dogs primal pronto. My 1 year old had parvo when we got him. So he spent 6 days hospitalized. He suffered from leaky gut after. I use a holistic vet and we used supplements to fix it. He still has a delicate stomach. If someone tries to sneak him a milk bone I find out in about 15 min because he throws up. I have incorporated answers fermented fish stock in their diet as well. It is expensive but I’d rather pay for good nutrient food then vet bills later because they are sick.

Smaller local pet stores usually carry a bunch of raw food. Although if you have a Pet Supplies Plus near you they have some commercial (pre made) raw as well. My dog is about 55 lbs and he gets fed between 1-1.5lbs of his pre made raw depending on how active he is that day. If you don’t have any pet stores near you that carry raw food there are some great companies that you can get it shipped to you monthly. If you want to do a DIY raw where you buy all the ingredients and put it all together I’d definitely get in contact with a canine nutritionist.

my puppy is extremely, and i mean extremelyyyy picky concerning food and we are really struggling with making sure he gets all the nutrients he needs. If anything, he somewhat enjoys cooked meat, but my family don't know enough about dog nutrition to feel comfortable feeding him completely with self made food. I know there's BARF calculators, but my dog doesn't eat half of the stuff mentioned there and i coudln't find any information if it's doable to do a BARF inspired diet so to speak with more cooked food. I'd love a video talking about tips on how to deal with picky dogs or maybe you could give some tips or even just recommend osme sources(i dont mind researching myself, just cant find good information). Also I was always under the impression that you shouldn't feed kibble in the same feeding as raw food. So when we first started our puppy on raw food he had kibble for breakfast and raw food for dinner although we do occasionally add an egg Raw two kibble. Are you of the same opinion that raw should be said in a different setting or at a different Meal Time if you're feeding kibble. I was always told the dogs do not process kibble the same as they process raw food and so it was harder for them to digest the both of them at the same time. I also noticed a dramatic difference in the amount of water that are dog needed to drink when we were feeding Raw versus when we are feeding kibble. It really is a huge difference you're talking one bowl or less of water a day versus three bowls of water a day

Her system just could not handle or process it. Made this switch with the newton of intention and to keep her in continued perfect heslth and out of the vers office as she has never had s single issue or sensitivity so really was shocked this trial ended so poorly and not only cost me a very expensive upgrade from her already high priced quality dry food but a huge vet bill on top of it and my poor baby going through days of food poisonkng type symptoms. Fresh cooled subsceoptions are ofcourse the most expensive which is why raw which isnt cheap just seemed like a great value among more nutrition and benefits than the cooked fresh. For now going back to my lesser of all evils more quality dry food until fresh cooked is more in my budget.

@@1VanesaHernandez She had extreme dehydration and the effects as if she had food poisoning, stomach bug, parasite etc. Its really crazy because she showed no symptoms the entire month she was eating raw side from just not being super excited about it and not eating her full portion daily. I had not worried much duri g thay tome as endless blogs online of dog owners having this same scenario when transitioning to raw per some dogs just hating change and she would always be begging for human food and her treats as normal. It really wasnt until the point she started vomiting and bloody liquid stools for a few days that didnt ease at all even when stopping feeding those days and giving stomach soothing things like goats milk and pumpkin puree thinking that would get her stomach right. Glad I went to the vet at that point even though she was still acting no differently. She was given an instant fluid drip to rehydrate her at an extra cost of course no surprise compared to them just sending me home with pills only and a shot. Very said he isnt totally against raw but doesnt believe personally all the hype of raw as may work for many but he only sees pets on the extreme end when they react badly and end up there like in my case. Said some dogs regardless breed or size just have systems that cannot process this raw which is why the data my girl was vomiting it was initially the last weeks worth of patties she ate like they were just sitting unprocessed in her system. And ofcourse since I couldnt force her to drink nearly enough water needed those last days same as trying to get a child to understand it's for their benefit led to that insane dehydration state. After a week of being on a simple chicken and rice soft food and some pills she was back to normal and practically doing back flips going back to a dehydrated cluster kibble. I felt horrible as I only had her best interest at heart thinking it was such an upgrade for health to go to raw no matter how pricey and only ended up giving her a month of trauma. I refuse to do the even more overpriced and gauged lightly cooked mail order subscriptions because they are absurdly priced even for a smaller 15lb dog like mine and are up charging for the convenience of a monthly shipment and prepackaged portions. I have friends who spend a small mortgage payment for multiple large dogs for these subscriptions and they equally practically need a second freezer for the space it takes up as well lol!

I would love if you would actually do a video on making your own raw food or balanced cooked food. I have been feeding my 120 pound lab the OC raw turkey but it’s just too expensive $100 box only lasts him NINE days.🤦‍♀️ I absolutely love my dog but I can’t afford the additional car payment… lol I mean food. 😉

How much muscle meat and organ meat should you be adding if it's just a topper and not the whole meal? Is 2oz of chicken breast or 1 oz of beef liver for a 40ish lb Aussie appropriate?

4:18 by medical, and scientific definition, dogs are in fact, omnivores. 100% fact. Being an omnivore, simply means, your digestive tract, is capable of breaking down plant, and protein enzymes.

I get it - dogs are carnivores. But, I notice my dogs are a lot more interested in vegetable matter than my cats ever were. Cats do not recognise any vegetables as edible, and a dog will happily wolf down cooked squash or sweet potato. I observe dogs in the wild so to speak, and notice that when left to their own devices, they munch on fresh grass from time to time, as well. So, when I feed a mostly raw diet, I mix in some cooked vegetable matter (never more than 10% by volume or calories) and my 105 pound Labrador lived to be 16 years old. So, I think adding some veg worked out for him, at least. That's what I mean when I claim that dogs are "more omnivorous than cats." Can't speak for anyone else.

I read a couple articles about not feeding your dog both kibble and raw because it will confuse their stomachs...can you elaborate on that? Also, would i be able to do a couple of days out of the week raw and the rest kibble? Thank you for the informative videos ❤️

I asked Roxanne Stone (founder of Answers Raw Pet Food) this and she says that this is outdated information and feeding raw and kibble together makes it easier to digest the kibble. For consistency sake I would recommend sprinkling raw into all your meals throughout the week as opposed to "raw days" and "kibble days".

Hello! I'm planning on integrating raw food to my cat's diet with the intention of transitioning fully to a raw-based diet, but coming across a couple stumbling blocks. For one, one of my cats has sensitivities to poultry, and a lot of raw-based diets seem to integrate chicken in some way or another - such as giving them chicken feet to crunch on, adding eggs to their meals, and that sort of thing, in order to make it a complete diet. Also, one of my cats was malnourished as a kitten (he's a rescue!) and because of that he doesn't have a lot of teeth so his food has to be pretty soft. Do you have any advice, or would you at some point make a video touching on raw-food diets for cats (or dogs!) that have special dietary concerns? I know it's a lot to go over, like animals with diabetes, weight loss diets, kidney or urinary health, etc., so completely understandable if you don't want to make a video, lol.
