"Young people in particular need to understand the complications and ambiguities of these things, and to hear it from somebody who has not only gone to war but devoted a lifetime to suffering from it." So powerful.
I love what you said in one of your interviews, “The power of Literature makes you feel less alone.” ❤ Thank you for your story, “The Things They Carried.” 🙏💕
Yeah, you open that one, and you're not eating, sleeping, pi$$ing, $#!++ing or changing your clothes till you're done. Maybe the most gripping book I've ever read in my life.
The cast is impressive for an indie film. It will be hard to adapt a such revered book and i fear that the director might not be the best fit to do it.
@@Alexanderng1 because you agree with his perspective does not mean he speaks truth. The very fact his book is fiction says it is not truth, but a tool he is using to sway you to his way of thinking. I have read his books. He writes well, but I do not agree with many of his opinions which is what all his "truths" amount to.

You know when they say about a book "I couldn't put it down"? Well, that's exactly what happened when I read The Things They Carried.
You should read "Lives of the Dead"

They are making a movie adaptation of this book now, with Tom Hardy and Bill Skarsgård

Guess that sank into development hell.

An honest man with an honest soul!
Except his book was fiction.
He was in Vietnam well behind the lines, and he saw no actual fighting.
@@grahamhannah2108 he speaks the truth nonetheless
@@Alexanderng1 He lied about his tour in Vietnam.
His book was fiction.
@@grahamhannah2108 I mean, of course?
He mentions that the stories are fiction several times within the book.
Its kinda the entire point of the book.
