    - Today we venture into an abandoned train station nestled in the center of a busy town, this landmark was once the biggest train station in this area connecting to all of upstate New York, Until that sad day where fire ripped through the walls and shattered the once amazing dream of a train station. Now all that’s left is a shell of its former glory. With many plans to renovate and restore falling through and the 10-million-dollar renovation price tag it likely will continue to sit in decay!
    - History: Built in 1892, the train station linked transportation between Oswego and Weehawken, New Jersey, with the last passenger train leaving the station in 1957. Since then, it’s been a staple in the community, both as a site of entertainment and a landmark to anyone that’s walked down the streets of Middletown.
After a fire in 2004 left the building empty and in a state of disrepair, the project to revitalize it took a group effort, and momentum carried over from improvements as a result of 2016’s DRI grant.

Wow, that place is blown out. Lots of history still to be seen. Nice presentation.

Yes agreed. Sad to see it in this state! Didn’t realize it was that bad. The inside really confused me it didn’t look like a train station. But was really easy to walk in the property but not to get inside. Have you explored? Thanks for commenting!
