  • Making a multiple wheel-thrown art installation in the form of a garden Totem. I demonstrate how to throw multiple pieces off the hump, combine two pieces for a taller base, and will eventually decorate, fire, glaze, fire again and then install the Totem in my flowerbed in this many part series.
This video I'd about throwing all the pieces I'll need to hopefully reach a height of 5 feet 6 inches.
I hope you join me on what promises to be a fun, cool, challenging project that is also my birthday present to myself.
    Music composed by Melody Reid.

So sorry to here how things are going with your hubby, I would be overwhelmed as well. A very difficult situation to handle, and being so close to the patient makes it even harder. The Totem, well I’m just going to have to have a go, it will probably, when I get around to it be multiple pebbles, or tumbling figures we will see. Thank goodness for our studios somewhere to chill and recoup. Take care, you are doing marvellously. Oh congratulations on your new grandson. Think about all the lovely cuddles that are coming. See you on the next episode. X

I've been wanting to do a totem for so long. I love them. Mine will probably be hand built. Maybe a bit of both. Love your dogs ... those blue eyes ❤ Take care.

I wasn’t able to finished the video before. I’m just amazed at what can be done on the wheel. I love seeing things thrown off the hump. The way you made the little hollow ball with the top was just amazing to see. Also you dont use a splash pan!! I practiced once without one because my wheel didn’t come with one and I HAD TO try it out and it was such a mess! Also… your remote!!! Hahaha. You may want to clean that off and put it in a ziplock! That’s what I had to do! Your grandson is soo precious!! Glad the pup is calming down for you. One day at a time right.

Congratulations on your new grandson and Happy birthday!! Glad your hubby is getting sorted You shouldn't worry about posting videos. ppl will understand if you focus on your chaotic life atm. I fully understand your stress level i have a disabled/ ill health hubby and a daughter who had an emergency c section at 29 weeks with twins. The gilrs are 4 now and doing well but babysitting 5 grandkids does limit my pottery atm. Dont feel pressured to making videao atm Im sure ppl will still follow you when you've got more time to post. Pottery is such a therapy though. Love your work, you are an inspiration. I want to make a totem but not yet skilled enough to do large items.

I hope you can find time to do pottery. Think of the totem as many pieces. And it doesn't have to be really tall. I've seen some 2 and 3 feet tall.

Oh it's so horrible when your so overwhelmed. I can only imagine. I hope your Husband recovers really quickly. New things are always stressful and doing drips etc would be such a steep learning curve! I imagine at the three week mark you will be a old hat at it (Not sure if that's just an Aussie saying, means really competent and relaxed at the chore). Congrats on the new bubba! always a wonderful exciting time. Huskies are just wonderful dogs but as they are so intelligent they understand more than is good for their mental health if things have gone wrong for them in the past. That ones a tough one. A friend of mine swears by crateting, I have no idea but apparently dogs have a mind set where its not cruel. I have never had to use a crate with any of my dogs but like your wonderful youtube on clay there must be at least one excellent one on separation anxiety with dogs.
Can see you physically relaxing as you throw throughout the video. Clay is definitely your happy place. Its such a pleasure to watch. Please let us your viewers know if we can help you out in anyway.
And Happy Birthday for last week. Take some time to celebrate.
