Outdoor 60m Sprint World Record: 6.29
    40 yard dash world record
    13h Fastest 100m All-Time: 9.83
Asian Area Record Holder, Fastest Asian Sprinter (アジア タイ記録)
    Interesting facts:
Speed= stride length * stride rate
Stride length is determined by ground force production, not neccesarily one's height or leg length.
Su's main obstacle to break 9.8 is not height but late phase speed maintenance (3 of the 4 fastest men currently in the world are under 5'9)
He ran a horrble last 40m in his 9.83 Olympic performance.
    6.29 + 3.54 = 9.83
3.54 is what any average 10.3 runner is capable of.
Had Su been able to run as fast as he normally does in the last 40m, like 3.49 or even less, he would break it to 9.78.
    Let him run!

I felt the same in 2004 when I saw Liu Xiang win Gold in 110m Hurdles and break the record and then later win World's and the World Record. China also currently has a younger 200m sprinter who has broken 20 second barrier and is on the top 25 all time list and could medal if he keeps going. Then there is the Citizen Runner from Japan who has like 100+ Sub 2:20 Marathons or some shit... He won the Boston Marathon 4 years ago in the most absurd weather near freezing temperatures

Indoors this year is gonna be incredible. I know normally people don’t care too much about indoors, but in the 60 with Baker, Bromell, Coleman, Bingtian, and Jacobs, it’s gonna be the most competitive indoor championships ever (in the 60).

@@henri.r94 You’ve got some good points there. It’ll be interesting to see if Su can get close to that outdoor split. Coleman, while obviously being the fastest of everyone, is still a big question mark. There is no guarantee that he’ll be back in his best form. Gatlin, ShaCarri, Linford Christie and many more athletes often need some time to find their best form after serving a ban. Myself personally took a whole season to get back to being close to my personal best after I lost a year due to injury (in the hurdles). Bromell is strange to me, because based on his 100m starts, I’m certain he can go much faster than his current 6.46. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 6.3 from him if he’s going for it. In any case, I think we can pretty much be certain that 6.47 won’t be fast enough for the world lead this indoor season. It’ll be fun to watch!

What makes you think said person(s) can run the same speed clean?
If that were the case, they’d never use PEDs in the 1st place.
Just saying…..because back a few years ago when MLB players would get a 50 to 100 game suspension, baseball analysts often times made the “erroneous” assumption that the player would return at the same level “clean” as they were before while using PEDs (e.g. Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Braun)

This 6.29 in his first 60 meters is equivalent to a 4.07 in the 40 yard dash. So Su has the fastest recorded 40 yard dash ever, unofficially but realistically!

i dont agree when you factor even in the 60 meters it takes time to reach wr speed in a dash he would hardly reach top speed

Damn, he is an amazing athlete. As a guy who is a sprinter and about the same height he is truly inspirational! I'm already running sub 11 in the 100m sprint, gonna get better to compete here in Brazil and hopefully be a great athlete too for my country.

  • @StinkyMonkeyUltra

Folks, it's called genetics. He is merely taking advantage of his physical gifts and dealing with his limitations like anyone else. Notice how the guys will long legs struggle to get their stride on compared to Su. Some of the fastest guys I knew in high school, gifted runners were not black. They were these short Vietnamese guys with massive quads who were incredibly fast off the block. They looked just like Su. Now, there are tall Asians with long legs (thanks to improved diets). I'm sure there are going to be more Asian athletes who break records and defy stereotypes. Like they say, don't be hating. Respect.
