It's been a few months and the heat of the MacBook Pro quite literally melted a silhouette of the stickers onto my laptop which is permanent now. - Věda a technologie

Just take some Colgate and a old toothbrush and brush it up but be careful of not getting extra water I have been doing that for ages in mine laptops and that works just great

I think maybe uv has a role in this, where the sicker protects the area underneath from being tarnished by the sun's uv rays. I've also seen this on a metal surface of an old laptop of mine. Very little materials are safe from being affected by uv rays so probably anodized aluminum neither.
thanks, this suggestion makes the most sense so far. The UV rays combined with heat was an awful combination for the stickers directly placed on this laptop.

use a bit of vinegar or the polishing side of a sponge to get them off

I'm so glad that I never put stickers on my MBP. I would be devastated if anything happened to my MacBook Pro. This thing was mad expensive to buy! I've never paid this much for any tech. I treat this thing like a newborn baby. 😂

I would just remove the stickers and remove any residue. The combination of heat and time made my stickers seal to my laptop.

I used amazon for mine. I searched for "dell inspiron 3525 laptop shell" and was able to find one for you on aliexpress. Sometimes it's a pain trying to find one, depending on the laptop.

I don't care of peel them off, but I am wondering, rather than using just normal stickers, if I put down a aluminium stick that is for cars, is it good for laptops? Apart from peel it off later.

on my laptop I took off my stickers and used isopropyl alcohol and it came right off and no evidence of it

I got the stickers at conferences over the years, companies often ship them out for free. If you can't find any companies that are giving them out, do a search on RedBubble which has a lot of options. Regarding the shell, I'll have to post a link in the description, but I got mine from Amazon for under $30.

I really wish that were the case. The heat of the Macbook Pro has made the sticker imprint permanent. I've tried Goo Gone, etc., and now this laptop sports multiple tattoos.

Use isopropyl alcohol 70% it will take all those marks straight off and not damage the tech at all I was a professional cleaner and restorer for 20 years it works every time 😊 but do so at own risk I’m not getting the blame. If you mess it up 😂
