    I agree Scott, floorplan is great. Love the larger, more flexible use table and the bath minus shower curtain. We prefer the black tank option, this works so well for us! Also love the folding bed leaving room for garage space during travel. Holding out for Volta, this one is staying on the short list of B Vans for us. Great tour and interview, Thank You!

    This would definately be my choice if it had the Volta Power Systems platform! It's the only thing holding me back on pulling the trigger on this one. Currently considering the Travato 59GL. I'm a travel nurse and want to be able to run everyting without the use of a generator at night. Super important for hospital parking lots as well as quiet hours at various locations.

    Love this floorplan. We currently have an Hymer AKTIV, and Airstream has made so tweaks on the original layout. I assume the electrical choice was a price-point decision, but we really like being able to run the AC off of batteries and the underhood generator with autostart. MUCH quieter than a generator. Love this van. Almost makes me want to pull the trigger; definitely one of the best out there. Needs skylight(s) (although pop top comes with one when down, right?), window in the bathroom, skylight in the bedroom area, certainly a top end Volta lithium system and bigger inverter (this is a must have in place of a generator) and one of those brilliant ‘peek-a-boo’ shower/sink setups. Great van.

    Our local Airstream dealer finally has two Rangelines in stock (Sept. 2023) one with and one without a pop-top. The big change we saw was a switch to a real black water toilet. It is clearly designed to compete with the standard G model. The base MSRP is only $131K. That's a bargain assuming that's the negotiating starting point. Build quality is better than newer Travatos, but lower than older ones like yours. The huge bed and garage would work better than a G for a couple traveling. A Battleborn lithium system is available as an option, but it doesn't compare to the Volta system. It is a big improvement over the standard AGM battery system however.

    Scott, great job! 👍👍👍!!! It's a beautiful van with everything I want. The built quality seems excellent. However, I prefer a 4x4 shorter van like the 19' or 17,' and then I can park at a ski parking lot close to the ski slope without questions.

    Hi Scott, nice review. Since you've lived in your Travato GL for 3 years, I would love to get your opinion on the placement of the bathroom and bed in this Rangeline vs your Travato. I think we can both agree that the only downfalls in this version are the lack of Volta and the size of the fridge.

  • @zantetsu8674
    @zantetsu8674 Před rokem +1

    That is a super nice implementation of the Travato G floor plan. Really beautiful worksmanship. I don't think it's quite as functional as a G due to smaller freezer, missing jump seat, and I believe the front lounge does not convert to a bed, but this thing definitely oozes quality and thoughtfulness in design, a quality unfortunately lacking most of the time. I fully approve of the elimination of LP in favor of gasoline for heating, and also the induction cooktop.

    Looks really good, Airstream always do a good job. Interior height is pretty low. The description says sleeps 2 to 4, where do the second two sleep? Or is that only on the pop top? Definitely needs to be offered with a lithium package! Solid thinking in opting to not use a cassette toilet, the European bath/toilet design is great especially not having a door opening out, crowding the limited space of a class B. Unsure about the manual awning, do people want this? Unfortunately the Ram is just not as good as the Mercedes, maybe the Ford could have been an option, not as wide but definitely more head room. I can think of a couple of problems with this van right off the bat. Who wants a noisy generator in a $200K RV? You already have an induction cooktop, lose the propane and go full electric with LiIon batteres, solar panels and a high capacity (or even a second) alternator. I would have a 24V second alternator and have the coach batteries setup in 24V configuration, 24V inverter, and a 24-12V DC-DC converter to power all the 12V appliances. 24V is more efficient for the inverter. 12V compressor fridge. Truma, AquaHot, Timberline water heater/furnace or even a heat pump perhaps. Truma has an all electric suite of appliances. Airstream is one of the leaders in the RV industry, why can't they come with an better system? The cabinet doors and latches are clunky. Lok at Leisure Vans, Tiffen, others for better cabinet solutions. Also the bathroom has unsightly snapcaps on the plastic wall, that's unacceptable.

    • @gosmall.livelarge
      @gosmall.livelarge  Před rokem

      Thanks for your thoughts Chris. Couple of clarifications… there is no propane on the Rangeline; heat n hot water from chassis fuel. Hi, Scott! Thank you for a great walkthrough of a great looking Class B RV! I would like to make a standing offer to you to do a walkthrough of my new 2022 Panoramic RV, the first Pano to be built on a 2022 US Ram ProMaster 3500 chassis! I'd also like to make some comparisons between the Ridgeline and the 2022 Panoramic RV.
    Sliding door entrance: the Pano has three drawers, accessible from the inside or outside, including a garbage can and a food prep extension (not three cubbies). Lounge area: the Pano has virtually exactly the same table with the same three detents on the table extension. The Pano has had this feature for at least three years now. There is a proper shoe cubby and storage under the bench seat. The Pano Wet Bath: has a one time water temperature controller (you only have to set the temperature once). The shower curtain keeps everything in the shower from getting wet (storage cabinet, toilet paper, etc.). The shower curtain also allows someone to take a shower with the doors open, giving them more elbow room! The galley: the Pano has a two burner propane cooktop, a 5.3 cu. ft. fridge/freezer (compared to Ridgeline's 3.6 cu.ft.); the Pano also has a huge pull out pantry and a wine rack!
    The Electrical System: the Pano has up to 400 Amp-hours of Lithium batteries and a 3,000 Watt inverter (compared to Ridgeline's up to 270 Amp-hour batteries and 2,000 Watt inverter). The Pano also has an AC unit that can run off of the batteries! The Pano's Truma Combi controller can heat air and water with propane, (shore power) electricity or a combination of the two. More comparisons by the numbers: Pano solar panels 330 W (Ridgeline 200 W); Pano fresh tank 35 gallons (Ridgeline 28 gallons); Pano gray tank 24 gallons (Ridgeline 19 gallons); Pano black tank 16 gallons (Ridgeline 12 gallons); Pano warranty five years (Ridgeline three years). The Pano is very competitively priced and, I suspect, has a higher build quality

Make the van so much better too.

    This is a very ggod start for a new van line.. getting rid of propane -- so all fuel is from the gas tank is great -- running the engine - water and furnace heating - WGO should use the timberline in the Travato.... layout - floor plan is good. as noted -- it needs a model without a generator and with volta electric system -- it would be a Travato L model killer... it is a killer of non lithium G model now.. They should use a Rolef screen in the slider door -- the slider style screens are a problem for many in long term use. the question is also about roof rack availability -- lots of choices today for aftermarket storage for back doors on Promaster. Travato really need to get rid of propane use for one fuel in the coach

    Hello Scott, I enjoy your videos, however, I have a few comments that, in my view, will improve quality of your work, though, I understand you may have business related limitations/considerations:
    - I personally will not buy any vehicle that does not have Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and the tech package that comes with it. It would be great if you add this ACC package to your check list and comment on every future video you shoot and remind product managers to consider it.
    - I hope you ask slightly more difficult questions, for example: they have aluminum ceiling in Rangeline, metal sucks up heat, it would have been nice to ask, have you guys considered how this impacts heating in winter?
    - Or, The gentleman says we are first to insulate using lizard skin, makes it more quiet and and insulated. Would have been nice to ask, how much more quieter? Have you done any db (decible) measurements. What is the R factor of this new insulation and how it compares with other RVs.
    Just a few thoughts. Thanks!
