    A masterboard collage is a large collaged piece that you can cut up into smaller pieces to use for making:
    --ATCs
    --book pages in a journal
    --background for placing a photo
    --mail-art postcards (in this case)
    You can make a master board that is 12 inches x 12 inches, and then cut it down to the size of art you would like.
    I go step by step on how I created an oversized masterboard, and what I did with it once the first round of collaging was complete.

    I still return to your old videos ... I get so inspired and its funny , when l see your video l learn a lot ... When l begann doing collage l felt l had no time , All had to go so farst ... Then l got sick and had to slow down , and l begann making small collages on playing cards ... Now l am getting better and stronger , and my collages are getting bigger and l am beginning to be good to mix papers and colours together ... People even ask if l want to sell my Art ... But l am not there yet , and maybe l realy dont have much time , so Thank you , Margaret for the wonderful videos with your awsome Art ❤️❤️❤️

    Marrgarete, I would like to share with you a trick: instead of cutting the master board into cards and then looking at each one, I made four cards out of scrap 4 x 6, to place around areas where each card will be and isolate each card, blocking the neighboring cards.. This way, each card can be analyzed before cutting. I hope that this makes sense. I like to put a sealer on the master board before cutting, which is why I came up with this solution. Thank you for your videos. I am a new paper crafter and find your instructions to be really helpful.

    I love your hint for leaving something for a while, walking away and coming back to it with a fresh perspective. It's so true for collage and life as well! Collage master boards are awesome. Sometimes I do these when my pile of scraps gets totally out of control, or I sometimes do it at the end of a project (like a journal) to create matching embellishments (like clusters, pockets, and the like). I have never thought of doing postcards, though, so I will give that a try! I really enjoyed seeing your process and your clear explanation of how you approached this project. Margarete......I loved this video and thanks so much for creating this. Your storyboard is phenomenal and I think that is my next attempt. I too have to take a photo of my work because once I remember one piece my mind plays tricks on me, good suggestion. Also, I never thought of stamping on a scrap and then adding it back to the piece, I’m so glad I saw this. I have ruined pieces because I’m not a great stamper and this will help me a lot. I love the back postcard stickers too, I’ll have to check into that. I felt the postcards for the swap were to thick, so please let me know when you receive them, I used a thicker card stock for them. I so admire all your work and just love how you encourage everyone to be their best. ❤️❤️❤️ Oh........the spin art is beautiful. I can remember going to the fairs and making spin art all the time. I don't seal them, actually. I love "naked" paper. I just make sure that my pieces are glued down really well.

      Hi Rebekah, here's the link for Daiso. I've actually never had a look at their site, but if you can order online, that might work out great! www.daisojapan.com/

    Please, please can you help me clear up the 'contention' which seems to arise .... between the two terms? Are 'Marsterboards' and 'Collage Art Sheets'.... considered to be the same thing?

    • @MargareteMiller
      @MargareteMiller  Před 4 lety

      Hi, I have never heard the term "Collage Art Sheet" before, but it's certainly possible to have 2 terms for the same thing. You are probably in a better position to tell me if they are the same or not :-)

      @@MargareteMiller - I am very persuaded that they are!.... very similar...but I have since found that the Masterboards seem to include.... Art.... stamping etc... whilst in it's original form.... Collage Art Sheets... would just mean: pieces of paper specifically..... glued together to create a larger piece of paper! (hope this makes sense.... it is simply how I have made it 'understandable'.... for myself! )

    being new, learning as I go,,,I keep hearing ATC's,,,,what is an ATC? I'm sure it's such a simple term, I just can't figure it out.

      @MargareteMiller  Před 3 lety

      Hi Rhonda, it's a card, the same size as a regular playing card (you can even trace one to get the right size). On that card you put some art on it: collage, mixed media, etc. On the back you sign it and say where you are from. After that you can trade them with other artists. Masterboards are great for making ATCs.
