  • Landing at Heraklion Airport Nikos Kazantzakis in perfect weather conditions. During the descend you can see the Tripti Mountains in the background and after the final turn the Dikti Mountains being very close. The approach is amazing to look at, as it goes along the beautiful coastline and shows the terrain of eastern Crete.
By looking at the data on Flightradar24 it seems as if the pilots got vectored by ATC to conduct the VOR approach for runway 27, which begins in 2500ft. The pilot flying did a great job with a smooth landing, even tho the runway isn't the most even. Taxi was via B and D to stand 7.
