Horror Masterpiece? Can't wait for what he thinks of the Deer episode a few episodes later.
The hall of egress reaction is gonna be fuckin 🔥🔥🔥
Nux ain't ready for egress
@@TheEnchantedPickaxeHDGaming best episodic episode ever honestly. an actual masterpiece... that hes gona watch in like 10,000 years.
oh dont remind me the fcking deer, freakin Alastor is scared of him
Yeah, there’s plenty more trauma to be had in adventure time
Between rainicorn being able to phase people into her body and jakes stretching powers the night life between those 2 has got to be insane
reminds me of an old comic where someone is watching two eldritch gods going at it, but its like two plates of cosmic noodles mixing and he's just, "I don't know what I'm looking at, should I...be aroused, embarrassed, do you want me to leave...watch...please don't say join in"
Jake isn't from a stretchy dog race. he's unique. His family were normal anthropomorphic doggos
IIRC she says “Jake and I do it all the time” at 15:58
@@TheRhuenI need to know the comic.
The true teir 15
Lady rainicorn canonically says that “she and Jake merge all the time”
Holy crap - is no one going to acknowledge Nux's spot-on LSP voice?
No joke I end up doing a double take cuz I like there is no way he is talking right now 🤯
Fr fr, just like LSP herself.
I actually thought it was LSP at some point and realized seconds later it was actually Nux
I can tell he likes doing the voice😂
Yeah for a moment I thought it was LSP and was like Woah when did she get that much of a potty mouth?
I admire how Adventure time always had a satisfying payoff for literally everything.🥴
The vault is something we don't talk about, until it gets full...
Mine is endless. But ocasionally, a blowtorch finds its way inside somehow
I can honestly say as a child the end of this truamatized me with the ghost girl and noise it made
Me too buddy
And it always pop up in mind when you think about this episode, 'cause i didn't know origin of ghost-girl - it doesn't let me off (and i am still don't know)
Same, and i still remember all the theory videos back then talking about the ghost being finn's mom or something😂
Same.
This episode traumatized me. I can’t think about this episode without feeling a certain fear of the ghost
6:45 "why's my man speaking fax?"
You will soon realize that BMO is just built like that
Nux. You nailed LSP more than any boyfriend she ever had
Not really much of a bar to set...
The mystery train was a cute episode and all
But HOLY SMOKES this episode!
Mystery Train is R.L. Stine
The Creeps is Stephen King
@rimfire8217
What does that make the deer episode?
Holocaust @@kwagz3314
@kwagz3314
Also Stephen King. Has Misery vibes.
I am internally screaming, Among us has ruined closed room mysteries.
So I’m putting my foot down, go watch clue, everyone here needs to go watch clue,
if you need more convincing Tim curry (apologies not Jim Cummings, my brain is stupid) is in it
Among us is just the perfect breakdown of the social deduction game. The murderer is among us is basically a required line in every mystery in the genre.
Curry
@@rettwoods Damn you’re right, i had a feeling i was off, but i didn’t think i was that off.
I shall make that correction
I might be the only one who doesnt think of among us then.
I remember this episode terrifying the balls off of me when I was a kid. Thise were the good ol' days.
17:25 it's where all the stuff he can't handle goes.
Ker-Plook
But after LSP forced those lumps on him, there's no more room in the vault.
My guy having a trainwreck of a mental state canon since day 1
yeah nox literally guessed exactly what the vault is
I like the detail that when the ghost was flying around princess bubblegum was still like a statue.
Fun trivias about this episode:
This is the first Halloween episode in the series.
A ruined skyline can be seen outside the mansion, which are remnants of the Mushroom War.
Cinnamon Bun may have feelings for Lumpy Space Princess, as demonstrated when he says, "Now's my chance," when he hears that she has broken up with her boyfriend.
At the top of a staircase, a portrait's plate reads: 8•18•12. This (August 18, 2012) is the date background painter Santino Lascano was married.
Finn's mask is a fox mask, Jake's mask is a classic green eye-mask, Princess Bubblegum's mask is a swan mask, Lumpy Space Princess's mask is a red triangular mask, BMO's mask is a bear mask, and Cinnamon Bun is not wearing a mask; although he is wearing a mustache, a top hat, and a monocle.
On the bottom of a painting, it says "La Cazza Del Zorro" which is Spanish for "The hunt of the fox."
This is the first episode where Finn wears long pants other than his pajamas.
In the Adventure Time With Finn and Jake: Righteous Rules For Being Awesome book, it mentions it was Jake's birthday.
On the painting where a lady is hugging a bull, the portrait plate reads MAYO.11 which is Spanish for May 11.
When the episode was first aired on October 17, 2011, when BMO and Jake go down into the basement, BMO finds a lighter. When Jake lifts the lighter above his head and out of view, this is when he lights it. However, when this episode was shown again on Cartoon Network, the lighter is changed to a yellow glowstick for unknown reasons. Later in the episode, Jake still says he dropped the lighter in the basement and refuses to go down there again, even though it was changed to a glowstick.
The guises the characters used were:
Finn as Prince Hotbod.
Jake as Randy Butternumbs.
Princess Bubblegum as Lady Quietbottom.
Lumpy Space Princess as Duchess Gummybuns.
BMO as Professor Pants.
Cinnamon Bun as Guy Farting.
Lumpy Space Princess broke up with Brad because he kissed her on the mouth when she wasn't ready.
This is the first appearance of the mysterious ghost lady.
Episode connections:
Jake's trick in "Mystery Train" is alluded to at the beginning of the episode. Also, at the end of the episode, Jake refers to the same events by saying "I gotcha, dude! Two for two!"
Brad from "Trouble in Lumpy Space" is mentioned. Lumpy Space Princess also reveals why she broke up with Brad in the first place.
The mysterious ghost lady who appears in the climax will appear later on and you'll eventually found out who she is when get to that episode.
Cultural references:
The theme of using a haunted house in a game of subterfuge and deception is likely taken from the 1959 film House on Haunted Hill. In the film, Annabelle Loren and her lover David Trent conspire to murder Annabelle's husband, Frederick Loren, by faking a haunting. Frederick becomes aware of this beforehand though, and arranges his own ghost-inspired deception which culminates in the death of both Annabelle and David. This mirrors how Jake becomes aware of Finn's ruse, and turns it around on him.
Finn mentions about "elevator dreams" when he was asking Jake, a story which was created by Roald Dahl.
This episode is done in a Whodunit mystery style, where strange murders occur within a confined space, like the murder mystery book And Then There Were None, by Agatha Christie, or The Mystery of the Yellow Room, by Gaston Leroux, who wrote The Phantom of the Opera.
The note on the box of Finn and Jake's masks said Wear Me, which is similar to the Alice in Wonderland phrase that was written on the cake and drink: Eat Me & Drink Me.
The title card may also be a reference to the game Clue, since the various murder weapons the guests are holding and their outfits resemble those of in the game. Princess Bubblegum has the knife, Lumpy Space Princess has the rope, Jake has the gun, Finn has the fireplace poker, and BMO has the candlestick.
The episode's set-up also shares a number of elements with the 1985 film, Clue. In both, the guests receive anonymous invitations to a party held by an absent host, and they are assigned pseudonyms. There is also a part where the guests split up into pairs to search each floor of the house.
The opening scene, costumes, and much of the interior of the mansion are drawn in the pseudo-Victorian style of the late Edward Gorey, a prolific author/cartoonist best known to the general public as the creator of the animated sequence opening the PBS Mystery series and his darkly humorous books.
The ghost appearing near the end is drawn and painted in the style of traditional Japanese 'ghost paintings'.
The mask BMO wears resembles the bear mask from the film The Shining. The Shining is also a ghost story set in a largely empty hotel.
When LSP is sent into the painting, it is a reference to the Roald Dahl book The Witches where the girl is sent into the painting.
The letter's mention that their Host is a Ghost is a reference to the Ghost Host from the Disneyland ride, The Haunted Mansion. In addition, "I am your Host. I am a ghost." sounds similar to a similar line spoken by the Ghost Host of the attraction when addressing to the audience: "I am your host, your Ghost Host."
When Jake states that Finn's dream includes a half-orc shaman, this is a reference to Warcraft's Thrall, who is also a half-orc shaman.
Storyline analysis:
One could tell Princess Bubblegum was a dummy because she never moves when Lady Rainicorn comes in as the ghost.
The fact that LSP hit and pushed away Cinnamon Bun right before the envelope was found on his back implies that she placed the note there.
Production notes:
This episode was scheduled as part of Cartoon Network's Halloween-themed programming.
On the On Demand synopsis, it said the invite was from "Count Creepystein", but in the episode, they do not know what the host's name is.
Errors:
When Lumpy Space Princess enters in the dining room, there are eight plates on the table, but in the following shot one of them disappears.
When Finn is accusing Princess Bubblegum of trying to avert suspicion by blaming Lumpy Space Princess, Finn and Princess Bubblegum appear to be the same height.
When Jake was stretching his arms to trap Princess Bubblegum, his sleeves stretched with it.
When Finn, Jake and Lumpy Space Princess cover themselves to avoid the ghost, they are at the opposite end of the table.
Right after Princess Bubblegum melts, the white and black colors in Jake's eyes get switched for a couple frames.
When Lumpy Space Princess gets sucked into the painting she drops her phone but in the painting she gets her phone back.
This might not be an error as the incidence is later revealed to have been faked.
In the painting, Lumpy Space Princess is near the end of the line of the dogs, but when the camera focuses on her, she is next to the fox.
When Finn and Jake are trying to get out to the door, there is one scene that Finn's gloves are gone.
When BMO took pictures of Lumpy Space Princess, Princess Bubblegum, and Jake BMO processed four pictures when it only took three pictures. Finn's Weird Eyes
When Finn first arrives and is standing by the staircase, his eyes appear to be almost on the top of his head behind his mask (see picture).
At one point, BMO's bear mask turns on it's own with BMO moving his body, which would be impossible since the mask is set up on BMO's flat front
When BMO and Jake are checking out the basement, out of Finn's earshot, they act as if neither of them know what is going on, when they obviously do.
This is made more strange when BMO is clearly taken by Lady Rainicorn, who Finn was not using as part of his plan, although later Finn says that he had planned on BMO being taken. This means that his original plan for taking BMO could not have gone ahead.
I knew lsp went to the bathroom. And I swear I thought you saying “I was taking a shit” was the real line and I almost freaked out.
while the other episode is based on that film Murder On The Orient Express, this one is based on that board game Cluedo
we call it clue in the US
Plot twist: Chat spams "LORE" _every_ episode just to throw Nux off the scent as to what's actually lore-relevant or not. ;)
2:01 SNAIL 🐌
on the stairs
17:12 THE VAULT!
Can't wait to get all this lore answered 2 seasons after. Chat you better be ready to drop the "do you remember the time Finn saw that greenish like babe?" and then have Nuxanor muckbanging lore after lore (i swear, this show gets crazy xD)
I remember watching this, and the green ghost girl scared me so much that i was afraid to stay in a room alone
The ghost girl.
Would
@@romanterry7215Thats literally Finn tough
As a kid when the episode first came out and I saw them, it scared me so much
7:59 can't he? Man that Red Vs Blue's "Why can't he kill all of us" reference has changed that line for me.
Guy 1: Guys we need to be careful, one of us is possessed by an owl!
Guy 2: Who?
Guy 1: That's just it, we don't -?!
WOOOO waiting for this one, hope nux likes it, now just got to wait for episode 20 gonna rock his world
Even as a teen watching this back in the day, yeah just something about this episode that rubs you in the right spooky way, and I'd seen a lot of spooky stuff in those days I was riding horror highs with games like Slender Man.
That ONE part kept playing in my head and my own vault couldn't be opened
The lore of that ghost though, that was one of the most peak fiction things that I've ever seen.
On a side note, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE HOLIDAY SPECIAL GEEZ.
This episode gave me nightmares as a kid ngl.
Whyt LSP reminds me Gorlock the destroyer :D
I know chat is doing it to say this is important without spoiling it, but honestly think Nux is smart and crafty enough to figure out on his own, especially after the last couple episodes, they say lore he breaks down a bunch of things not just wtihin the episode. No offense meant, just cool it chat or you might ruin stuff for him, lessen the experience.
or we could just scream "lore" at everything so there's no way to tell when its real or not
@@randomperson8375You got my vote
@@randomperson8375
yessssss lol, the chaos but also not far off from the truth since basically everything is important.
Oh God I needed this dose of animated crack. Your commentary plus Adventure Time's insanity is so good after a bad day and a panic attack. Hope to see more soon hopefully over the next few days while I am recovering. Even if not Keep up the great work. Perhaps your commentary can reach Sir. Dickmaster level at this rate.
Cinnamon bun smeared into the top corner of a closet is still upsetting.
Nux's LSP impression is getting better. 1 more season and itll be spot on.
Im really supprised that nux hasent seen adventure time untill he started this series. Was one of my childhood favorite shows
8:45 what kind of question is that? Many of us are straight up deterred by giant buildings.
Remember her, she's closer to our heroes then you could possibly imagine...
Six more before the the truth.
11:42-Finn,she is over 800 years old!
That means a ton of memories to go thought.
He won't admit it but LSP is slowly becoming his favorite character. Kinda like a guilty pleasure
6:58 watch Batman: Under the Red Hood if you want more Jake laughs
Making the call at 13 minutes: That ghost's movement reminds me of Rainicorn.
Welcome to the Horror arc of the season for these few episodes.
Thank you, universe, for happening upon this video after having some wine. It MAKES the LSP impressions seem real even though I've watched it all several times.
Oh yeah this episode is really REALLY good
But Nux, the ghost doesn't come back, they never left, they were always there....
Nuxes LSP impression is crazy good
Fun fact, this episode isn't the first time we saw the ghost. In fact, we actually see it in the very first episode, technically speaking.
This was indeed a traumatic episode for me. Watched it full once and it was enough to give me nightmares for months. Most of my memories of it were wiped clean until I finally watched someone react to it many years later
That it is, Nux. That it is.
welcome to the "Chekhov's Firing Squad" of western animation
11:27 im pretty sure that liking inside a companion’s mouth is a very conmon wolf behavior
The Web of Lore is endless with no loose ends in Adventure Time which is who it’s the best Cartoon ever!!!!!!!
The green ghost is brought back up until seasons 4-7 as it shows a lot of lore and are very iconic episodes later on
14:40 it’s definitely lore, since it seems like Finn is remembering something, won’t say what, but all I’ll say is that she’s been in every episode in the TreeHouse
Finn is an absolute master of repressing memories.
Yeaaaa this is the episode that made me respect lsp with the whole screaming like she was dying part but it was really just her using the bathroom. And Im pretty sure brad did more then just kiss her without her consent.... and omg that scene of Bubblegum melting was literal nightmare fuel when it came out. And yes you said nightmare fuel too!!! It really is the kills are like 4x as graphic seeing them show smushed up cinnamon bun fall into b-mo's dead bod was horrifying.
14:43 I've always wondered who or what that Green Ghost Lady Monster is.
they explain it later in the show
If you don't want spoilers dont read further!!! The ghost is a ghost of a character named shoko that was one of finns past lives
@@misheVal Huh. Neat.
@@misheVal But how is it existing? if ya know
@@JohnnyYeTaecanUktena My best guess is that jake was right and the stress did cause Finn to hallucinate but it took the form of shoko manifesting from his deeply buried memories to communicate that she died with unfinished business.
About time we got more Nux drugs.
His lumpy space impersonation is absolutely flawless, I legit can’t tell the difference sometimes
Nuxtaku as the voice actor for the LSP spin off
14:45 LORE!
Honestly, I feel like this is definitely one of the biggest catalysts to one of the most important parts of this story. There's gonna be a particular episode down the line where you're gonna remember this ep and be like "oh my gloooooooooob"
"It's gonna be among us"
And thats the moment where everyone screamed "PREWATCH" in unison
6:40 "life is scary and dark. Let's find the light" is unironically a pretty nice quote. Based BMO
Don't worry. That's just Finn's wife in a previous incarnation. Honey wants her hubby back
I'm gonna be honest the ghost Girl scared the hell out of me when I was younger lol
This episode gave me nightmares when I watched it as a child
*laughed so hard all the way through this one! XD* thx Nux!
always love the puchline of "This will be relevant several seasons from now"
This episode traumatized me as much as a Courage the Cowardly Dog episode.

This is one of my favorite episodes of Adventure Time
"As the strongest King, Icegoat, fought the fraud, the Litch, he began to open his domain. the Litch shrunk back in fear, but then ice king said: "stand proud, you are strong." "
Nux is getting even better at LSP.
We are approaching THE lore episode.
