An American actor and director, Bryan Cranston is best known for playing Walter White in crime drama series Breaking Bad, a role for which he has won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor no fewer than four times.
He was also widely praised for his portrayals of Hal in the comedy series Malcolm in The Middle, and Dr Tim Whatley in Seinfeld, and is currently starring in Network at the National Theatre. He is further known for his active campaigning against AIDS, a cause for which he raised donations at his 2014 Broadway show All The Way.
ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY: The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.
I think they wasted a interview with an inexperienced interviewer. Never engaged with Mr. Cranston, not a single follow up based on his answers. Still, Brian made it worth watching.
Believe it or not, she's the President. Yeah, my thoughts exactly.
so because shes president she gets to ask questions. the most boring predictable anodyne questions
i agree. "fair enough" was cringe worthy in response to BC very detailed answer.
Ive seen bad interviews, she did ok, with Bryan Cranston do you really wanna get in the way? Just let papa Cranston learn us something
She is so cold
man, can this guy express himself.
Such a generous presence. He puts all of himself into it.
This man is fantastic.
This “interview” was unbelievably inspiring. Despite the terribly unexperienced interviewer who barely listened to his words, Bryan was able to make me dream and reflect upon my life through his words.
A man of sublime culture. Thanks Bryan🙏🏻
Yeah they should'nt use her again to interview, she had awkward responses and wasn't listening.
I love this man. I could listen to him for hours.
How can Oxford university not produce a better interviewer than this? Damn.
Equality reasons probably.
Simple answer: they (President of Oxford Union) are elected not based on their interview skills
Prodigal 7 Dark skinned, female and disabled. She's a box ticker, the BBC are gunna love her.
If you have met oxford students, they are not adept in media spaces
@@timsyoutube6051 u r the one who is “disabled” in your thought process and sensibilities
You get a subject like him, you have to ask him more intelligent questions. He carried the whole thing on his shoulders. Then again, these are just kids. They'll figure it out.
Yeah. 1.2mn followers and figure it out
I'm a simple man: I see Walter White, I click and like.
I only saw Bryan but...
@@TheWorldTeacher I think you mean Hal Wilkerson
@@Not_An_EV, no, Mr. Troll.
@@TheWorldTeacher ah yes you recognise him as the witch lawyer from the Sabrina the teenage witch episode troll bride good spot my friend.
@@Not_An_EV, kindly repeat that in ENGLISH, Miss.☝️
Came here after finishing reading his biography. He has quite the interesting life behind him and it made him very wise. I would love to see him talk more.
And btw, his book/biography is really good. Worth a read even if you usually dont read books or biographies!
I just got the book on your recommendation. My admiration of this guy just grows and grows.
Thanks.
In this Q&A Bryan tought a lot of wise advices for our lives. Defenitely he's not just an excellent actor, but an excellent human being too. So rewarding to watch this conference.
I have never heard an actor who had so many revealing thoughts and expressed them so well. Fantastic. He wants his audience to succeed and really cares about them. Expressing good and bad times in his life. Figuring it out and coming out on top. I love this actor alot. Thanks.
Bryan is the cool theater professor whose class everyone on campus wants to take
What a humble, intelligent man. Shit interviewer though Christ almighty.
I have a comment on the interviewer, which seems to get alot of stick from people. I think she was great! Seemed a bit nervous, but who would not be a bit nervous asking Bryan Cranston questions? The good thing she did, was to let him speak! Never interupted or wanted to steal the limelight herself, so great job! I really enjoyed listening to Bryan, an amazing actor and even better man! Thank you!
I think many people didn't get that this was a Q&A session more than an interview.
She did her work pretty well!
Ya I don't know why people are so hung up on the interviewer. She is a kid and the point of the video is for Bryan to share his knowledge to up and coming adults, not to have a good interviewer.
On every OU vid, there is a group of people who love to mock the interviewers' skills as if they (a) could do better (b) had any idea how the union operates (c) comprehended how much work the average Oxford student has to do alongside OU stuff.
Bryan Cranston is a very talented actor and great guy. Thank you for giving a shout out to us writers and the importance of writing. “Writers are by far the most important element in any performance art”
He is a very intellectual person! He talks the same way he taught his students in chemistry class.
He's so insightful yet so real.
this guy is pure human, we need more Bryan Cranston, we need more humanity
I love his motivation for getting into acting, no high faluting ideals or claims of destiny, but a very honest answer 😁.
My "thumbs-up" was revoked when this truly pathetic-excuse-for-a-man proved to be a MANGINA at about the 36:00 minute mark.
Reverend Eslam what on earth is a mangina?
@@TheWorldTeacher ah dude I feel bad for you you just gotta embrace change.

Extremely inspiring Speech. I use it as a mantra to motivate myself to keep on walking czcams.com/video/_qXVA4IAeQQ/video.html
brilliant human - down to earth and super talented - major respect
Damn such wisdom from cranston. Thanks for this Oxford Union!
excellent presentation by Mr. Cranston. Thanks so much for airing this.
Bryan Cranston is a great life teacher.
What a truly beautiful and inspiring human being Bryan Cranston is! Respect!
Obviously became a huge fan of cranston from the show breaking bad but this guy has been amazing his whole career. From that episode of X-Files back in the day through malcolm in the middle. Even more surprising is how amazing this guy is off the big screen in real life and in interviews. Seems like a really awesome down to earth fun dude unlike 99% of hollywood actors.
I love how he's talking to these people like he WANTS them to learn and grow from what he's saying. He's not just talking about himself.
I could listen to bryan cranston speak all week, man.
I could listen to brian cranston speak all week
Perhaps one of the most remarkable, yet down to earth, actors ok the planet. Very thoughtful man 🌟
What a brilliant actor. The man is warm, personable and assured - I cannot see a slither of Walter White in him here.
All I see is a hot dentist on Seinfeld.
She should of just handed him the questions and he could go through them himself, she was like a robot, no response or interaction.
Inspiring! Thank you Mr Cranston.
All the people complaining about the interviewer being robotic and not very good. Guys she still has her robo leg you can see they've clearly not finished building her yet let alone programming her.
good one..try "standing up"
Minute 33:00 one of the best pieces of advice you can have and for free. Mr. Cranston knows what he talks about.
Wisdom personified, this guy ❤❤
Hes charming.
He is the one who rocks.
Jesus it's MiNeRaLs !!!
Yeah SCIENCE BITCH!!!
Did anybody notice at 12:32? Cranston says he was dubbed Sneaky Pete as a little kid? And then he went on to create and co-stare in the Amazon show Sneaky Pete? Isn't that awesome??
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, Bryan. Life points.
i love this guy. he's great!
The best one I’ve seen. Great guy.
Wonderful.
Frankie Munez said in an interview that Bryan calls him regularly to check in on him and see how he's doing. I believe it, by all accounts Bryan is as kind and loving as he is talented.
Bryan is great actor Bravo
thank you, i take this interview as a mentoring Masterclass, thank you Bryan Craston for sharing that much.
I like him so much!
I admire BRYAN CRANSTON I love him.
Smae same dmae
Wow I needed to hear that
Cranston is actually quite charming
I'm sure he's eternally grateful for your insightful comment.
Sir Cranston. Tell The People "I Hope You All Enjoy My Pain" For Me. God Bless.
Bryan is a role model
He’s smart, talented, successful and modest
Very enjoyable session.
JESSE! We have to go to Oxford!!!
Papa cranston just gets life, he's my hero
Awesome talk :)
Muito bom, super sábio esse cara!
My favourite actor next to Al Pacino, true entertainers and workers
I don’t even think of al Pacino as an actor anymore - he’s more of a clown that performs at children’s parties
Legend!
We love Bryan Cranston
he can be a really good teacher
Bryan delves into an insightful speech about his life. Interviewer: "fair enough". 🙄
Bottle episodes of shows always tend to be my favourites. Pine Barrens for Sopranos or Part 8 of Twin Peaks are the standouts of those shows.
What a guy
What a shit team
What an irrelevant reply to a perfectly normal comment
I second Jack... LFC presents 28 years of failure @epl
Brian Cranston is the best actor of our time. Even the great Johnny Depp doesn't have his range. what an interesting interview.
At this rate I'm going to have to get into Oxford for the guest speakers O_O
Our perspectives are very interesting things. First time I watched this I was fascinated on what Brian was saying. Second time I yelled "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW" at the kid on the bottom right at 8:45.
Hope he picked a winner 😂😂
Here After to Your Honor 👌🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I work in the theater industry I couldn't agree anymore with what bryan is saying about getting lost to be found
What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man
Bryan Cranston came across really well. Seemed a genuine guy.
Wow! I could listen to him talk all day. It seems like he has lived a very interesting life! He seems very humble and grateful to be where he is! On another note it’s sad how actors have to wear disguises when they go out in public! Being famous definitely comes with the downsides. It’s kind of creepy how we idolize people so much that they aren’t even safe going out in public as themselves!
Bryan that's how I truly feel about acting! 22:30
One of my favourite celebrity talking
Love this channel
We want the Bellerin video!
I ADORE HIM!!!
At 8:49 the kid at the the right starts picking his nose and eats the stuff lmao
Great advise, travel, those places whom you'll encounter with the language barrier, immerse yourself (and not to casually dip ones toes like a tourist.) Great way of getting lost, (the loss of comfort, of being comfortable.)
Can anyone attend these Q&A talks or is it only for members of the uni of Oxford?
Such respect Mr Branson, you are amazing
54:24 he fell asleep🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️😂
I’m not in the oxford union business ...I’m in the empire business
Where to look for photos captured by that Leica guy?)
at 8:50 this kid on the right starts to pick his nose and eats what he found there o.O
I just noticed that myself..
Dirty little so and so!
:[
Edit: this is the second Oxford video I've seen today where someone picks then eats. In the other one, a seemingly well behaved young lady picks at her eyes and then eats her sleepy eye sand, more than once.
W T F
There is no England anymore. It was shitted by animals.
Is Breaking Bad mentioned? I wonder whether I should watch it.
27:05 left side, purple jumper, please blink.
THE INTERVIEWER ( AND I USE THAT WORD LOOSELY ), WAS SHOCKING . . . . . . : 0 )
Creeeeep?
I know I’m very late to this, LOL! She was probably a fellow student. This could’ve been an assignment or a final project? If she’s doing a public speaking major of some kind maybe she got picked to interview Brian. Anyone would be nervous if it was their first or even second time interviewing someone famous in front of classmates.
@@v.i.pperspective1169 Uhhhmm Perhaps!!!!
You'd think that Oxford would have a better interviewer??
Yes, but wrong race and gender.
♥️
Malcom in the middle hal is his best role.
it is
i enjoy it just many good life advice for real i did that part of go to another country and he is so fucking right it end it up well, this guy amazing, and those bastards who leave the room and d not want become value that is a prove of what he said just love it
Eeeeeew! - 8:48
Hal!
Oh my fucking god!
I meant to watch like 10 minutes of this...
I missed my bus because I got enthralled
this man is genius
To all the people putting down the interviewer. Does it really matter much? Cranston was able to convey a whole heck of a lot.
Oh i'm first to comment! Can't meth this up!
Debby Upper
You obviously don't do meth
Hahaha stop mething around.
This is a great talk. I can’t believe some people left early, very disrespectful
I know right? I would have felt privileged if I ever had him come to my school & share his knowledge & intellect 🙄 thankfully I've had the opportunity to meet him & he was absolutely lovely.
@@sashana8310 that’s amazing to have met him. I can imagine he such down to earth. Seems a genuine person.
@@thesweetyguy thank you! He's as lovely & genuine in person as he is here; a tad sassy but that adds to his charm & humour. Definitely one of the best in the industry.
