Terry I'm learning HVAC and not even my Instructor at school teaches as well as you do .Your a Master at Teaching.
Would like to add a ditto to this and I am only layman at home owner.
Normaly opend cosed deves compeant ohs showes parts
Very informative and clear. My air-condition compressor won't run i am not sure if the capacitor or the compressor has the problem. Now I could determine before sending it to a technician. Thanks!
This is the single best instructional video about AC on all of the internet. Very informative.
Very clear, concise, and professional video and documentation. Heartfelt thanks!
Great clip
Good instructions. Thanks
So many times there is no concern for the person speaking, they are hard to understand, this video was very good, the guy was really trying to make sure we could hear ,and understand him. Thank you for a. Very good video,
Thank you - very helpful.
hi I watch your video and it was helpful I changed out my capacitors I had one dual and one single the one that is single hooks up to the fan and the daul was only hooked up the harm i changed out both so i turned on the thermostat and the fan locked on well about a hour later i go out side and the fan is not working i turn off the unit and turn it back on and the fan kicks on them it stop working this was the same problem i was having from the get to go i spun the fan blades to see if the fan was making and funny noises but nothing any idea what could be wrong or what I need to check next thank u
nice video! now i know basic trouble about electrical aircon tnx sir
Very useful information...thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Very good instructional video! Thanks
Very informative you've covered more than many other videos I've seen
thanks for this tutorial, one question, the big capacitor on the left , which has two black terminals, do you know which one is for common and which one is for Herm ? or how to tell which is which, or it just doesn't matter ? thanks
Good tutorial!
Thank you for that sharing sir, salamat sa ipinagbahagi mo sir.from Philipines.
how do you replace those capacitors with three terminals. suppose you have 1x50 mfd cap and a 5 mfd
An excellent video thank you very much, also the vocals were understandable.
OMG!! I could understand every word! very good instructions! What a pleasure to watch!
what do i set the freeking meter on
Quick question.....i have a Lennox M/N 13ACD-048-230-03 A/C.....I have a duel (3 sets of posts) round run capacitor with only the red and yellow connected AND a oval (2 set of post) connected with 2x brown/White wires. I know the oval capacitor is for the fan but why have both if the dual capacitor is set up for a fan?
on my cap using analog meter it will go all the way over and just stay there ??? is it bad, another cap i got will go all the way over and return back, so it is good...
The problem I have is what settings do you put the Meter at when you are testing?
Well done video
Hi, only the more expensive multi meters have a capacitance setting! My Klein Mm320 doesn’t, wish I knew I needed this before.
Excellent video thank you.
very helpful
Do run caps ever just get weak and draw a couple extra amps? thanks
My start capacitor burned up and smoke came out of it. Why? i bought it new and put it on the 240 twin capacitor, one start one and the other run capacitor.
I have a cheap digital multitimeter with only ohms. No physical distortion in my 30 year old 25/5 AC capacitor. When I measure ohms from C to Fan, it jumps up and back to 0 in like 1-2 seconds. When I do the same for C to Herms, it takes 6-7 seconds to count up before it goes back to 0. Does that mean the compressor side could be bad, or is this capacitor still good? Thanks so much.
Nice vedio sir..but can u make a video manufacturer of capacitors
for example my capacitir is 10micr farad was indicate on caoacitor itself, and i do a testing the actual reading is 14.689 micro farad.... my queation is this capacitors still good?
Can i replace a run capacitor for a washing machine 40 uf 350v with a 40uf 370 to 400 v?
I have an Ideal Sperry digital multimeter. What is the capacitance setting? I only see DCV, ACV, ohms, and DCmA. Thanks
Yeah I can't find a meter that reads Mfd anywhere
Hindi 3phse capacitor testing what foot
nice video
THANK you
Thanks you
Thanks terry...147
So how do you know you know you need run capacitor you said?
What is the correct capacitor size for a 2.2kw motor?
Nice video
GEEZ , the guy helping me at AC place their place not open today or tomorrow AND I need to ask him again something . He said on blower motor if I disconect the cool terminal wire on circuit board and connect the bottom black wire to cool terminal that ( this is what I'm not sure what he said and needed to talk to him ) if it works ( or doesn't ) that means board is bad NOT the motor ?? OR is it the other way around ?? And yes replaced capacitor . Still the same barely running the blower not full speed and shuts down after a while with new capacitor
can you do the test with a digital multimeter
yes
thanks
What exactly is the "compacitance" setting? It's not clear on the digital multimeter where to set that, and not all multimeters look like the one you have in this video.
No, but it did help me fix my Garage Door Opener. THANKS
I'm sorry brother the volume on your unit evidently is turned down or there's something wrong with the speaker or microphone sorry couldn't hear you but I still gave you a thumbs up
New friend.
CASE: I had made an appointment with a HVAC Co for a tune up. Today a tecnician repairman came to "tune up" my home heater unit. Within 5 min of using the multimeter he told me I needed a new MOTOR BLOWER CAPACITOR, and it would cost me $165 plus the tune up of $89 = $254. I said I'd think about it for a few months. He told me (scare tactics): "The capacitor is going bad, If it goes bad it will damage the blower motor and you're looking at a $600 repair". I gave some excuses and declined it. Suddenly he said he was finished, and asked me to pay the $89 and was out of the house saying, "If you change your mind, call us back but there will be an additional TRIP COST".
QUESTION: Do you think I should replace the CAPACITOR and pay that much, or not? [I'm a curious handy-man but never done any work on furnace/heater.] Or, should I go learn how to do it myself and buy the part at Home Depot?
Capacitors are cheap so why not give it a try? Not likely to find one at Home Depot, though. You’ll need to order off this guys store, or somewhere else on the Internet.
@@leeb.7188 My A/C company wanted to charge me $200 for my capacitor. I found it online for $6 with shipping. Changing it took 5 minutes since it is really just plug and play.
Plug and Play just search how to do it and discharge capacitor. I live in CA, have to order online or drive to the shitty neighborhood to buy hvac parts. Local hvac supply stores will not sell to homeowners. Commiefornia. Shit neighborhood, no questions asked except cash discount price or credit?
Should you need top-quality electrolytic or film capacitors for motor application, make sure to check www.comarcond.com/en
MFD is not micro, capital M is for mega
No such capacitor as a "mega" farad. It is micro, although the labeling might not be the standard micro symbol.
Old AC Unit rotted out and died with the original capacitor. 20+ years. New unit-new capacitor at 5 yrs and again in 2 more. WTF?
Set video speed to 2x, save 5 minutes of time.
Also, the website is dead and is filled with malware downloaders, so do not use it.
90% of the population don't know what nomenclature means...
Bad video, how are we to test them if we can’t see what you did
I learned dodo
say ACROSS NOT: ACCROST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Terry, are you trying to ruin the industry. Use your brain.
Don't be silly. Not that many people are willing to work on their own HVAC and those who are willing are often those who can't afford to pay the HVAC guy to come work on their equipment. This is a very positive service for those who want to learn enough to service their own home units safely. That's a very, very small segment of the population...
I think he's in the business of selling parts
The reality is that if a run capacitor is the problem, it's an easy fix. If he's selling parts and produces a good video, that's cool with me. It's the complex stuff that I'd hire an HVAC technician to handle, not the easy stuff.
To many people out of work right now.
